Ritchie and Ronnie made for a great team. Those first few Rainbow albums were unbelievable and long live rock n roll was my favorite simply because it had more songs on it than Rising.

FANTASTIC CLIP - THANKS FOR POSTING - This brings back memories of seing Rainbow at Newcastle City Hall in 1977 when I was 16, one of my friends still has most of the headstock off Ritchies strat from that night !

Notice the Reel to Reel tape machine that Ritchie always seems to use (as a pre-amp if I'm not mistaken), I used to use the same method myself, it may be unusual, but it is possible to achieve great tone when set up correctly.
