  • Smart woman! I hope you don't have to take a lot of crap from friends and family for being so, but I know how it can be.

  • you worked hard well wake up ITS NOT ABOUT YOUR WORK

    it was about HIS work

  • jesus is god when you read his word and get to know him

jesus is god the bible is his word

  • understanding and experiencing just how much i am loved by this

{ OTHER PERSON } . . . my understanding and knowing this has has changed over the years . . its incredible . . its great . . words just cant

  • Interesting, I have a question what was the name of that "Church" you were a member of from 17-28 that you believed at that time had the truth???

  • This is a big one for theists ... I constitutes a logical fallacy on their part (no true Scotsman) ... It amounts to bananas calling something yellow. With hundreds of denominations for Xtianity alone , I wonder which one is the "one". Of course every theist believes it's his/hers simply by virtue of their birth circumstances. What's bizarre is, this doesn't trouble them one bit .

  • Understand this night, and in the morning wake anew. Who judge you saying they are christians as those who speak of themselves as jews, hear not. Surely have been told of the narrow and broad ways. Baptism also, like the claim of salivation by blood even tho it be of Christ, is not that narrow gate. This gate is entered along a narrow path, the solitary walk thereon. Who offered blood said also i must leave that the Comforter may come. She may be heard best in silence, the path is...

  • @LJonYT Listening to what you said at :25 tells me you were never a true Christian.Because thats not what the bible says do to be saved "If a man shall confess with his heart and his mouth that Jesus is Lord ye shall be saved" not "pray Jesus into your heart ,confess your sins".You dont pray Jesus into your heart you ask him to come into your heart, any true Christian would know this.

  • Has anybody seen Elvis?

  • Did you go to The Church of Christ by any chance?

  • @CelticWarrior1971 Yes, The International Church of Christ. The one lead by Kip McKean.

  • @LJonYT: What were some of the things that the one you went to believe? Why do some people consider it a cult?

  • Thanks for posting. 5* and sub. Welcome to freedom sister atheist. Signed ex Jehovah's witness. If you have a moment check out my channel.

  • @skyzthelimi7 Thanks!

  • Does a fake Satanist lose her damnation?

  • @Desertphile Interesting question.

  • To me a true Christian is one who's born-again and knows God personally. It doesn't make sense for one to be truly born-again to become "un-born". Even in the physical world when a baby is born, they can't become "un-born", so why would it differ with spiritual birth? Of course as natural people we can die hence being "un-born" in a sense, but a characteristic of spirit/spiritual things is that they can't die. I think it goes against logic for one to be an ex-Christian at least a true one.

  • @conqueringthruchrist I think that depends on your specific theology and the scriptures you use to justify it. You can make a case to be sure, but so can the other side. Interesting that the source material for both camps is the same.

  • @conqueringthruchrist: So if you are born to your father(Earthly), and you loved him, but then for some reason, you grow to hate him and sin against him, then that means that you were never born to him in the first place? There is such a thing as a fallen Christian, to believe otherwise is nonsense if you really think about it. Read 2 Peter 2:20-21.

  • @conqueringthruchrist: In 2 Peter 2, he is talking about false teachers and people who escaped the trappings of the world through knowledge of Jesus Christ, and if they are entangled therein again...

Well, how can you escape something then go back to it if you were never truly free of it in the first place? How do you escape through Jesus Christ? He saves you, there is no other escape according to the bible. So clearly, there is such a thing as a fallen Christian, I should know, I am one.

  • @conqueringthruchrist: And not only that, but consider the angels, they don't have faith, they have knowledge of God, they Know he's real, they have stood in his presence, yet some of THEM, chose to fall. So, if beings made of fire and who are so much more powerful and smarter than talking monkeys, er umm, humans, can fall, why couldn't a talking ape made of clay choose to fall after coming to know God as the angels did? Think baby, think.

  • @CelticWarrior1971 Being a fallen Christian and an ex-Christian are totally different. Fallen Christian admit that there is a God that they've chosen to wilfully sin against and fall away from. So called "ex-Christians" claim there never was a God even when they believed it because to them it's all a dilusion. You can't say both, you can either claim temporary insanity, which excludes you from having a ture experience in reality, or admit, as you did that you've simply fallen away.

  • @conqueringthruchrist Actually life evolves. It is possible to 'fall away' as you said and still believe there is a god and I do know many people that this describes. I did not choose to willfully sin and fall away. In fact, when I left the church I was reading the bible and praying more than ever. My faith fell apart in the midst of that. I believed at one time and I no longer do. It is that simple.

  • @LJonYT I'm speaking of the "ex-Christians" who now say there never was a God, even when they believed. You can't claim that you were ever a true Christian if you say this, as true Christianity isn't defined as a delusion/mental illness. If you say there is a God, but you lack a personal belief in Him, that's another story, but then you can't make the definitive claim that there's absolutely no God which many atheists do.

  • @CelticWarrior1971 Tom Cruise thinks this is racist...

  • @TomCruiseHere: Tom Cruise can piss off then. Lol.

  • So you's didn't eat shellfish because thats an abomination :p

  • @TheLambentDrudge alas, I've had my fair share of shrimp.

  • @LJonYT Your perty xD

  • Thanks for mentioning that you were in until age 28. I'm usually embarrassed to think about how I carried all that crap with me into adulthood. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

  • @GreatBigBore Oh you're welcome.

  • Face it, Lisa. You have never been a true scotsman.

  • @Samuraionthewall *snicker*

  • @jesusISreallyREAL

"Holier than thou" eh? A bad argument considering she even addresses this in the video. Next time, actually watch it mkay?

  • @jesusISreallyREAL I think that is a common way of thinking for many Christians.

  • @LJonYT +1 for the subtle pwn.

  • @IronManTalks Interesting.

  • nice video.

  • @shortna thanks!

  • i think one can lose his or her salvation.

  • @legodesi I be interested in hearing more of your perspective on that and why.

  • @LJonYT

sure! i'll add it to the ever-growing list of topics to make videos on. =]

  • Orthodoxy - My View

Heresy - The other person's view.

Great vid Love to hear these kind of testimonies. Think churches should allow athiests to give similar testimonies. I guess it would be bad for business. Thanks for sharing!!!

  • @OctoberBret You're Welcome!

  • Hey, I'm curious...what was the "one true church" that you switched over to?

  • @freethinker923 I was in the Los Angeles International Church of Christ lead by Kip McKean.

  • I'm beginning to get over it, too. Their problem, not mine. I know I'll get to the point of not caring at all. Not there yet, though.

  • @violentlygraceful I still care, but I try not to take things too personally.

  • This is a great testimony.

  • @JaguarEscarlata Thanks!

  • I have such a hard time picturing you as that fundamentalist, cult like Christian. I just don't see it. I can't really imagine what it's like to come out of something like that. It takes a lot of bravery I'd think, since most of the people you would have associated with would have been a part of that belief. I hope your family is ok with you?

  • @tattooskin72 It makes me very happy that you can't imagine me as a fundamentalist, cult like Christian but I most certainly was. Yes, my family is okay with me. I've always been the "strong-willed". I think they expect it from me.

  • I'm always amazed when people are able to break free from their religions. I've known many such stories, and it's always like the person finally started thinking for themselves, like they found their mind and unplugged it from the collective. And they don't have to be an atheist, or think like me, and that's okay. They can finally be themselves. It's about being honest with yourself, even if it means you'll be ostracized. You're very brave.

  • @DarkMatter2525 Thanks. I love the notion of unplugging from the collective. That is what it felt like.
