This is awesome! What if NASA put a couple of these on mars? With a solar panel and some new radio hardware, bigger batteries, etc they could explore the planet way faster than the rover. Collecting samples would be hard and the weather might be an issue though... but maybe...
Think of the things like these will do. Deliver small mail packages, help find people in disasters, aid in military recon, aid in everything. Its a giant step up, so quick too.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we love to fly RC planes?
(2) What is the motivation to have a flying toys for amusement in our office?
(3) How does this AR Drone plane encourage the well-being, motivation & team dynamics of employees?
(4) Why do we like to play social-interacting toys, such as AR Drone?
(5) How can AR Drone be used in charitable and humanitian purposes?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

I do think it would have been better with a classic controller, if a bit less geeky.

@RivetsAndRain Military have been using Drones for years.
Would be great to see smaller versions like the toy mini copters that respond to IR - this unit looks a tad large.

@AbaddonofWormwood well, I meant, this one looks quieter and more agile than the ones I've seen.
