Classic song.........rappers these days can't make a song without using 'bottle and model', 'party and bacardi', or using a classic line from stuff like this...especially that useless Pitbull, Gucci, Jeezy, Joc, etc... disgrace to hip hop.

I want to hear the Nice and Smooth rap that was on this exact same album that had the Sanford and Son beat on it. Does anybody remember that one? I used to jam to that shit! They did that Sanford and Son beat on point for that track. I forgot the title but anyways someone needs to get that track on youtube quick. LOL I loved that track, forgot the name of it though.
man these were the true days of feel good hip hop, rap nowadays almost makes me wanna hurl ! it hurts me that rap will never be like this again, 1987-1997 one love !
Oh really well if dats da case how many more black people do u heard doin rock nigga??? nun at least i havnt heard shit and yes its pointless... since here so smart who was da first black rock artist??? little richard??? Dat nigga was Gay so hows dat?

Cloudy im not gonna hate on you. But ur fuckin' ignorance irritates me ur livin' in a fucking tunnelvision nigga. Tupac was real and not only in his lyrics. Go watch some interviews or some docu's about him. I ain't saying he got the best lyrics. But his lyrics r real.
yeah tupac was real...lookin real silly being a back up dancer for digital underground...dancin around to the humpty dance or w/e DU vid that was, right to THUG LIFE..if you ask me he's always kept it real....REAL PHONY
Say w/e you want about 2pac and his 'career' (hmm) in DU. But it made him recognized. Sometimes you just need to go through dirt if ya want to reach something innit? Plus if he didnt do that, what would have rap been these days. Biggie wouldnt have made the top like he did, cuz of my man 2pac. And lots of rappers have a shameful passt, like Dr. Dre.
no doubt about it...dr dre..lmfao...i die laffin every time they show that pic of him in a glitter suit with some eyeliner on lookin like some fag... the king of gangsta rap
Here's an excerpt from Ice-T's classic 'Cop Killa' Die, die, die pig, die! F**k the police! F**k the police! Fuck the police! Fuck the police! Fuck the police! Fuck the police! Fuck the police yeah! Cop killer, better you than me. I'm a Cop killer, fuck police brutality! Cop killer, I know your family's grievin' (fuck 'em) Cop killer, but tonight we get even.
And you mentioned blacks (as in a specific NAACP type group) protesting Tupac at some point during the nineties, any sources on that? I can't seem to find anything like that, just the institute founded in his name to help underprivilged children. He had an assault trial in the early nineties, and most likely there was atleast *ONE* african american involved with the case, could that be what you're thinking of?
NAACP did protest against Tupac. Since place you have been in the 90's.
Plus Ice-T is talking about the unfairment of blacks in the late 80's. Alot of rappers have meanful lyrics and equal share use violence and problem etc in a more mature, educated way.
Tupac's lyrics aren't meanful. It's total garabage.
awesome song good beat great rhymes, novadays its all about the beat and music videos, the rhyming is allways about guns bitches and money and cant even hear that shit behind the beat... back in the days the rap made the music live... cant do anything else than miss the oldschool because it aint coming back
Uh... There are amazing fucking classic hip-hop songs about firearms, women, drugs and money. You might want to re-listen to Kool G Rap n shit. And the beats being nowadays are generally as terrible as the rhymes. Rap is now all about autotune, saying your name over and over again, and having plenty of scantily clad women in your videos.
Hell yeah, Kool G Rap is the definition of classic hip hop with the overuses topics nowadays but done properly. I just love Kool G, he had the fuckin' skills and his crime stories are all some of the best ever...
*facepalm* What. My point was that there are different sub genres within the genre, and the most prevelant doesn't reflect the best. IE; Lil Wayne and bullshit mainstream music doesn't represent hip-hop and My Chemical Romance and other emo shit doesn't represent rock. And what the fuck are you talking about saying Tupac ruined Hip-Hop,that makes no fucking sense. He certainly wasn't the greatest MC, but he was pretty fucking good, and it was a loss to the game to see him go.

Yes, Tupac ruined hip hop with his ganagster rap garabage. He add alot of sexuality and embrace violence in his material. Also, there are so many vulgar lanuage that I can't hear what he saying.
I remember when my sister have an obession with that man around 1995.
He changed hip hop forever and many rappers influneced on him. Today, we have so many crapp rap songs.
Oh, My comment dosen't makes sense? Why many blacks protest against him durng the early 90's?
You realise saying that you know you're stuff when you clearly don't makes you look like a total douchebag, right? Tupac didn't change shit about Hip-Hop itself, if anything he just got more people interested in rap music, which has it's own consequences. Pac didn't invent Gangsta rap. If anyone invented West Coast style 'Gangsta Rap' it was Ice-T or NWA. Listen any Tupac record (made before his death) and then listen to a new mainstream artist, and try and say they sound anything alike.
what the hell?? tupac brought more dirty lyrics?? do you know who too short is?, akinyele? eazy E? 2 live crew? they was rappin dirty in the 80s what song have you heard where tupac is just rappin dirty?? you sound like a hater dude. i think you need to listen to pac instead of trying to be christian of the month because your not perfect by a large margin.
I bet the only 2pac song you've heard is Hit em Up and quickly think every song of his uses a bunch of profanity and is about nothing. Really... Pac might have had his dirty pimp mode songs but you can't overlook classics like Keep Ya Head Up & Dear Mama which have very positive messages to them.
If there's anybody who 'invented' dirty rap or was an influence it's 2 Live Crew, while Too Short had his pimp songs in every album, 2 Live Crew made concept sex albums using very dirty language.
Yeah Navy Vet, this was the joint. I was in the Navy from 78 to 85. Before many of these youngstas were born. VA-46 NAS Cecil Feild, VP-30, NAS Jax, NADC Warminster. I remember being stationed at NADC Warminster outside of Philly you could pick up WBLS, Kiss, all of them joints and the stations in Philly. Good memories
Classic song! Man I miss real Hip Hop with lyrics!! Radio gets no play on my time! Strictly I-Pod with these jamz; Nice N Smooth, Tribe Called Quest, Souls of Mischief, Pete Rock and Cl Smooth, De La Soul, Gangstarr, Scarface, Wu, Cypress, Cube.....
I don't think that this era of music could be matched again. This is classic. New stuff doesn't even come close.

Just chill out and respect what your hearing. Good music takes you away from your troubles most of the time not make you bitch about them.
dingles4breakfast 2 years ago
What are you talking about?
Music isn't therpy. Music is art. Is how you express yourself with sounds and harmony.
It is in every genre, includng rap/ hip-hop
I'm tired people like you saying that rap/hip-hop is nothing wrong.
Yeah right. Said that to the metal heads when Presdient Regan take them to court in 1986 to bring in censorship and parental ratings.

Rap/hip-hop use to be like this and the old days.
Thanks to the most overrated artist of all time, 2pac and his garabage , now this genre aren't for real.
