  • This video makes no sense! Nices visuals & an excellent song though.

  • 70's vibe, looks, sounds and attitude, awesome! so glad I found this, good to know there are still some bands like this. And yes, very Zepp influenced, but that is defenetly a good thing.

  • He sounds like he's channeling Robert Plant's voice here.

  • Bem legal!

  • Awesome stuff!

  • I didnt mean the Zep influence was a bad thing. I love Zep and love Black Mountain.

  • security with Black Flag t-shirt

  • good stuff

  • Heard this in Hard Rock Cafe(:

  • Sounds a bit like Big Wreck to my ear. Really enjoy the feel of this tone on this anti SOPA day. "Let your laws come undone, don't suffer your crime, let the love in your heart take control."

  • i bet she got a drity hippie pussy

  • This vid is a favorite on Kingstown

  • Am I the only one in love with this girl!? Absolutely stunning!! :)

  • @stevemodeen That makes 2 of us!

  • theyre not even ripping off zeppelin. theyre blatantly just playing zeppelin.

  • Holy S*&T Black Mountain!! Haven't heard from you if it wasn't for random commenter on UByK video. Thnx god for resurgence of classic sounding music.

  • This show is an argument for why Winter should be abolished.

  • the hair song ! hopefully there's no popular rock n roll bald men... as Ed Cassidy (one of the best drummer of the late 60s & 70s...) and michael stipe wanderin' accidently in this video... or even the singer of Midnight Oil or Bronski Beat... no king's throne for the bald in this without concession video...

  • I really wish the weather was good and I had streets to longboard in now.

  • cool tune!

  • the elctric guitar rhythm part is the tab im looking for

  • i cant find any tab on this, anyone know the notes theyre playing?

  • What Moog is that?

  • Another Led´s son. Good!

  • beautiful girl

  • 2:24 black flag shirt

  • @ripsawedcunt its the black flag logo but the shirt is for "call the office" which is the bar in the vid

  • If you're entitled to "rip" off of anyone it would be Zepplin, as they more or less built their fame out of "ripping" music from other artists. I think Black Mountain & Zepplin are both excellent musical acts, btw.

  • @HTMHicks Given that *everyone* in the art world stands on the shoulders of those who came before, I've never understood why anyone would talk about the concept of ripping music off.

  • @fasterhorses there's a difference between borrowing say, an A minor chord from somebody else and publishing entire guitar riffs that others have written.

  • @HTMHicks Understand what you're saying. From the musicians' (and commercial) point of view, it feels like theft. From the art point of view... harder to say I think. This business of not wanting people to use entire riffs is a relatively modern thing. In the past - before modern recording techniques made proprietary interests so big an issue - people did it all the time.

  • best song of black mountain

  • Ripping off Zep isnt a bad thing. I mean have you heard what passes for music these days? I wish more bands would Listen to the old stuff and learn from it instead of the crap that all sounds the same

  • @tryingharder BM don't so much rip off Zep as they plunder all of 1970s rock music and somehow manage to create something fresh-sounding out of it. No mean feat. I also beg to differ about "music these days". It's as great, varied and exciting as it was back then. What does suck big time is mainstream FM radio, which allowed itself to be castrated by MTV thirty years ago (and they suck only slightly less). Go even a little under the radar and there's treasures to be heard.

  • @tryingharder But everybody already knows Zepellin!...even a lot hip hop & techno heads have secretly give some of their time to listen to zep...

The challenge is to move from here & the great Purple-Sabbath axis to find new real discoveries

Free "Heartbreaker" lp (1973) ...Spirit "Twelve dreams..." lp (1970)... Spooky Tooth "Spooky Two" lp (1969) ... are exemples of LP's not musically so different of Zepellin and as good as the best zepellin...no less...but those 3 albums are not unknown...

  • @BohemianConspiracy I love Black Mountain and think that no matter who their influences are, they have their own unique sound. Good music is good music. We could also add on Bootsy Collins from like 1976 and Hawkwind and Humble Pie to your list as well. Great artist that put out great albums in the 70's that never reached the plateau that Zep did. Thanks for posting those records. Will for sure give em a listen. Rock on!

  • @tryingharder yeah thanx i will check Bootsy stuff... I've z 4first Humble Pie LP's, Steve Mariott was a beast of heavy soul singer ...no one was like him in America... and well...i'm a big Hawkwind fan since i bought their '74 sci-fi lp 9 years ago... great stuff for trippin'...

We can't talk about all the great 70s albums... the number of excellent albums released in just one year were quite phenomenal...

For one excellent album in 2011 we found at least 7 great in 1969 or 75 ...or whatever

  • @tryingharder i don't think of it as a ripoff, i think of it as a tribute, like rock n roll paying tribute to the old blues players in a sense :)

  • @intergalacticoverdri Agreed. I think people misunderstood what I was trying to say.

  • @tryingharder Zep has ripped off many artists in their time

  • @rocknrollally I love the Zeppelin influence. Its a good thing.

  • reminds me of jet prettty goood :DDD

  • i love the keyboard bridges that were taken strait out of Kashmir

  • the drummer looks like andrew from mgmt

  • @rakgtr yeah kinda

  • For all those that are trying to say that they are ripping off Led Zeppelin in the keyboard section for this song, let me remind you that Led Zeppelin has ripped off so many fucking bands when they created records.

Classic example, compare Spirit's Taurus and Stairway to Heaven.

  • @AirHendrix91 got to admit tho, the drummer well wants to be bonham

  • @aero105 Good point, the whole stance gives it away lol.

  • F*&king intense!

but if they were an adult then yes you're right

  • Really like this song, but it is very "Led Zep" like. Almost too close for comfort! Still, you could sound very "Berry Manilow" like. I guess I would go towards Zep!!!! Still, glad I stumbled on this band, will check out the rest of their music.

    Danny

  • at last , some decent music , i had pretty much given up on new bands until i heard this :) ( my record collection ends at about 79 lol

  • Fucking awesome band.

  • good!

  • The Keyboard sound at 2:46 reminds me a lot of "The Court of the Crimson King" by King Crimson. I totally dig this!

  • @crazymetalfingers at 1:13 you see the keyboard that he's playing. It's called a Memotron, which is an electronic reproduction of a Mellotron. The Mellotron is what King Crimson used on "Court of the Crimson King".

  • @forgottendreamsband

We shot part of the video in London, ONT, Canada. The caves are called Bruce's Caves and they are located outside Wiarton, ONT. The ruins are at Spirit Walk in Wiarton, ONT and are called the Corran House ruins. They are the ruins of an 18th century mansion.
