It last for about 90-120 minutes, give or take. It's not alot, but you figure your running Dual Graphics cards with SLI configured, Dual processors, high resolution. Quite alot for a Laptop to be running.

Build your own computer or buy it from an IT website/specialist, millions of options and chassis to choose from and about half the price whilst retaining the same power, all pre-builts suck ass (except laptops)

No, it means having a computer that is stable and does wht it is designed to do, without requiring constant phone calls to customer support because it runs on a very poor, sub-standard operating system, windows. Thus giving you your life back. Oh and if you want to spend a LOT of money on a very ordinary pc with cheap plastic case that looks like somthing you buy from a toy store, buy from Alienware.

Personally I wouldn't get a computer this expensive, but you have to realize that people by computers based on what they are going to use them for. A gamer isn't going to buy a Mac. Macs can't do everything man, neither can a PC.
