The exhaust is American racing headers and cats with OE exhaust and QTP cut-outs. So what you hear are two more or less open pipes with the balance of the exhaust running out the cutouts.
Paul Tracy is the man! I was disappointed that the turbo-charged Camaro overall lost to the supercharged gt500 Cobra being driven by Tanner Foust. Me being a Camaro owner I was really rooting for Paul & the Camaro on Battle of the Supercars to win.
Paul Tracy is a great Indy driver and a true enthusiast. It's a treat seeing him throw a Camaro around a track and push the car to its limits. Cool vid.
Wondered what PT was up to these days, good to see he's still got it. Miss watching him ever since the sad sad days when CART ended. Atleast as an Australian I got to see him race up at our indy on the gold coast. Bloody IRL is too good to come back to surfers paradise. Their loss.

Seriously, this guy has no clue of race driving! No offense, but from the perspective of an european this has got nothing to do with racing. Not smooth enough movements, too hard acceleration and not necessary braking to compesate this. I was at the 2008 event and really ask myself how the teams pick their drivers...???
I can give you a good answer to that. What halfway decent professional racedriver stabilizes an oversteering rwd car with the footbrake??? He's doing this twice in this video. Every mechanical engineer (I am one myself btw, specialized in vehicle dynamics and construction) will tell you that this only brakes your speed down with no positive effect. Seriously, this guy has no clue how to handle a car where good steering and braking is involved.
He should stick to ovals and not deal with that!!!
Looks like you're mixing up national pride with physics. The latter is valid worldwide and I can actually proof scientifically that I am right. So if you have anything usefull to add apart from insults I am more than happy to hear it. In any other case....
Again I lol. You come on to a youtube video and start ripping a Professional racer because of his performance in a 3000lb vehicle at an autocross event.
Paul Tracy has beat some of the best European racers to ever live, yet you come on here saying he doesn't know how to drive? You have no clue what you're talking about.
So what if his first run ever in this car, at this venue, wasn't perfect. Ive never seen a racer perfect a car or track in 5 min, have you?
@KontoVonMir Another youtube expert who thinks they can do it better than the person in the video. When you are hired by top teams in racing, scouted by Formula one teams and competed in national road racing events, then you may be credible, your coments mean nothing. You probably will say you could beat him if you hopped in the car with the same amount of practice. I have seen people rip professionals then watch as they fail miserably trying to show what they know.
Paul doesn't race on ovals....He is a F1 driver..They only race on road courses!!! Get a clue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Big difference between a heavy Camaro and a carbon fiber race car that can turn and stop on a dime..
The ZR-1 belonged to none other than Jim Halloway, owner of Mothers polishes. The car is stock. It had little trouble pacing most of the cars. When the times dipped into the 1:40's then it had to start working.
what happend to the sweet thunder chambered muffler? i think it would how sounded siiick but i guess its about flow so you just went with the cutouts instead?
The headers from American Racing are 3". We had planned the chambered for 2.5. When it didn't match up we went a different direction to get the car done on time.
I have now watchec the viedo 4-5 times in hd plus full screen. It is obvious the Pedders Camaro needs some help with brakes. They aere the stock Brmbos and are no match for the ceramic ZR1 brakes. Also if they were running track tires like most of the vehicles out there instead of the awesom Bridgstone RE050A Pole position, arguably the best street performance tire out there,
The Pedders Camaro would have been 2 seconds plus faster, which I think was already 5-7 secondsa faster than the next 2010 Camaro.
But was is seriously obvious is the lack of body role, dive and squat on the Camaro. It is rock solid. The ZR1, which we do not know what upgrades she has, had much more body role, and could not follow the same line thru the corners as the Camaro. The ZR1 struggled a little trying to.
I'm talking about this particular Vette. Watch the first time and second time you see the Vette. See how wide he gets. He's going too fast for the tyres to get enough grip. Before he pitted, he does follow the same line as the Camaro and got closer. You could probably learn a few things by following someone like Paul Tracy, a veteran race car driver.
I meant which event (all corners or just one instance.) Anyway, the first time the 'vette is shown it turns in late. That just means he probably got on the brakes a bit late. I'd bet Halloway has way more experience at Spring Mountain than Tracy and doesn't need any revelations about what line to take. And yes, Halloway does race. This Camaro (with more aggressive tires) ended up running a 1:50.2, while the Corvette was able to pace even quicker cars without falling behind.
It was a compliment. I buy what I feel a connection to, not what a publication tells me is the best on the road. I'm sure Chevy guys are the same way. For the money the a SS Camaro can't be beat. Styling is a whole other story. Look up who designed the new Camaro. Sanyup Lee ring a bell?
Best exhaust note ever.

uhhh...I'm pretty sure Paul Tracy is a decent racing driver...
Keep in mind autocross is a whole different ballgame. You have to attack it much more than you do a road course since its so tight.
Also, this car weighs a crapload and has a ton of power. Its probably quite the beast to wrestle around in AutoX

Still valid. An overpowered and overly heavy AMG SL can turn tighter and better than this Camaro.
