  • @KaPowKaBlam wow, that's fucking awesome. I love you now

  • My friend Kyle fucking played this song so well for his choir concert he played it on the piano and rocked this shit out the park

  • I watched in class today and my friend saw all the letters in caps spells LSD

  • For all you activist drug bitches who don't think this song is from LSD and some weird other shit...take lsd and watch this video...yeah get mindfucked, lucy in the sky with diamonds is fucking lsd everywhere

  • Yeah johns son did draw the picture watch imagine john lennon he states how he got the idea of the song its not about drugs like everyone seems to think......

  • taban re faseados cuando escribieron esto

  • also the beatles hardly did ANYTHING on the yellow submarine movie, not even their voices. all they did was record It's All Too Much, All Together Now,and Hey Bulldog and put in some of their past songs

  • You top comment idiots, john's son drew a picture of his friend lucy who was in the sky. there were also diamonds in the sky.

julian wrote under it lucy in the sky with diamonds and THAT'S how the beatles got there idea

NOT drugs. Did even watch all the movies and read the anthology?

  • It is right, that this music "show" LSD, if you look a bit carefullier, you'll see that the scenes are playing in brains with changing colors. That is in reality, too, that everything change colors, if you use LSD.

  • @28Turtle28

    It's actually LSD not LCD

Great song, always loved the beatles!!!

  • the initails of this song are LCD

  • This is from yellow submarine the movie I'm watching itt in music

  • Who did the animation for them back then

    It's so trippy and beautiful

  • this is quite nice on DXM, too :-

  • JUST ENJOY THE SONG!!

  • honeslty, who cares what its about, just keep it to yourself and enjoy the song

  • This ****ing song was NOT about LSD. If you guys payed attention, john lennon got the idea of this song fro his son who who one night, showed john a picture and told him it was lucy in a sky with diamonds. If you want to argue, know what about and make sure you know how much you know.

  • @FatTwinkie615 Seriously... Look at this video - could there be ANY doubt?

  • @FatTwinkie615 Yep, I heard that story too. Julian was drawing a picture, and when John asked him what he was drawing he told him it was Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Lucy was a girl he had a crush on.

  • Also, ich bin auf das Lied gekommen von Geschichte wir hatten Lucy den Menschenaffen in Geschichte durchgenommen voll.. keine ahnung

    also was meint ihr

  • Also, ich bin auf das Lied gekommen von Geschichte wir hatten Lucy den Menschenaffen in Geschichte durchgenommen voll.. keine ahnung

    also was meint ihr?

  • who ever made these illustrations is genius

  • Can you believe some gullible people still believe that cover up? Could be partly true but this is clearly about an acid trip. Paul himself came out recently and admitted it was about acid. Listen to the lyrics squares!

  • it's about his son's friend.

  • You are all idiots... This is not about LSD. It is about a drawing his son made you tards...

  • no! you guys are all retarded! its not about LSD! in an interview with John and Yoko, John explained that it was inspired by a picture his sun Sean drew. I choose to believe him because he was a great man who made a large impact on the world of music!

  • Enough with that goddamned LSD shit. The song is about a drawing his son made. God, you guys are such idiots; you will fall for anything won't you?!

  • @YourMomBakesPies if someone asked u if u used LSD in an interview, and u knew the world was going to hear your answer .... would you say you like to trip ballz? ... food for thought

  • @YourMomBakesPies THANK YOU!!

  • its not about LSD its about a drawing his son did in art class..

  • @the guys who think that its not about LSD:

just read the lyrics in the description and everything will become clear... or not.

  • who cares if it is about lsd? cant we focus that the beatles were amazingly talented and this song is totally a peice of artwork?! it completely saddens me to read that 3/4s of the comments on this song is just "omg!! this song is so scandelous!!" really?? I think this deserves a little more respect that that...

  • love this song. it's not about LSD; it's just an hilarious coincidence.

  • im not sure if thats just conicedence, or if its meant to be, or if its fate. WHOA.

  • The main theme of this song is based on the picture which John Lennon's son painted.

    Rest was done by band.

  • Not one of the Beatles' songs, IMHO. They're still good tho.

  • LSD, lol. Drugs or not, The Beatles was, and still is, one of the best bands evvarr.

  • @kazetehskylord I agree totally! and surely the fact that the oldest human ancestor found so far to date was called "Lucy" after this song shows how great they were!

  • @LucianLoneWarrior This song, however, is the most acid-powered thing I have seen since the intro of Tonari no Totoro.

  • just so everyone knows, this song is about a picture that juilan lennon drew (johns son).

  • the thing with the initials was just a mistake its all on wikipedia

  • @VikingRocker150 As the beatles said 'think for yourself'..you'd have to be stupid to think the initials weren't noticed by anyone before the album went out.

  • @twinflame93 ...well, if they did noticed it... Why deny it?

  • lsd oviousli

  • anyone who he sez the beatles r ded and gone are wrong, cos i luv this song and im 13! =P

  • On wiki, this song was about john's son who drew a picture of a girl in his class and called in "lucy in the sky"

This has nothing to do with LSD. Well, it could really. I gusse.

  • this song is not about LSD there is an interview where one of them says its not, its about a picture that a llittle girl drew.

  • Yes it is. What dumbass would say that his song is about doing illegal drugs during an interview. It's no secret that they smoked pot and did LSD.

  • @LightzenoLZ LSD acid was kinda likeone of the big thing during the 1960's and in the song they explain how it makes u go nuts and see weird thing and get high lol

  • one of them said ... they can say whaterver they want .... i would say the same if they ask me if i sing about LSD ... :)))

  • theres also an interview where one o dem says it is

  • ♥

  • this video kinda ruined the song. good song though, and undoubtedly about lsd, you can't get around the fact

  • @ktel1245 kaleidoscope eyes is lsd

  • this song is not about LSD! look at a damn beatles interview. gahhh that makes me so mad!

  • Lol dude it IS about LSD.

The 'damn' beatles interview was to calm everybody down again cause as you might know LSD was and is illegal.

It's no secret that a lot of great musicians have used and are using drugs but it's still illegal so they like to keep it on the down low.

  • No this song is about a picture Julian drew in pre school, was John on LSD when he wrote the song yea prob, but thats not what the song is about

  • @DutchManticore This song is not about the drug LSD just because of the abbreviation. It is about a drawing Julian brought home to John one day. The title of the picture was "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" And the drawing inspired John to write this song. DO YOUR RESEARCH!

  • @jus2fluffy think for yourself and listen to the lyrics. Everyone knows that story but the smart beatles fans know it's rubbish ;)

  • @DutchManticore they did take LSD, but i heard this song was inspired by a picture that some kid did (cant remember who) that had some diamonds in the sky and a girl called lucy, and only after then released it john realsised the initials spelled LSD

    great song regardless!!!

  • @felixx2012 his son jullian lennon drew the picture

  • In 2004 Paul McCartney told BBC that it was "pretty obvious" the song was inspired by LSD.

Lol i think i figured that out the first time i ever heard this song.

  • my favorite beatles song... fav song of all time stairway to heaven

  • me and my girlfriend love this song shes hot

  • gottta love acid

  • Ahem, LSD.

  • lucy R.I.P. and thanks for this song I love you. this song conected me and my boyfrend !!. yust have to love lucy :)) and beatles ofcourse.

  • Safe passage Lucy.

  • R.I.P. Lucy, God bless you

  • amen

  • Lucy Vodden, who provided the inspiration for the Beatles' classic song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," has died after a long battle with lupus. She was 46. She was still young when she passed away. At age 4, Julian Lennon took a shine to her and made a drawing of her in the sky with diamonds. He took it home to show his father, and the rest is history.

  • Actually cabaroke, Lucy was the inspiration for the title of the song, not the song itself as she has quoted herself numerous times. "a girl with kaleidoscope eyes." "Climb in the back with your head in the clouds

And you're gone." You have obviously never been on a trip, ;) The lyrics obviously point towards drug usage, that doesnt make the song bad though.

  • and so you people still hang people for smoking pot, poor american idiots, trying to police the world, howmany more deads will it take before the paranoiia fades. chances are amigo, you work for a correctional institute and sell the drugs you repudiate. from the perps........................ Is it rue that the biggest prison pop in the world is in the us????? wow, now that is a real american dream. wave your flag, wave it high..............

  • have the time they were hy in these music vids

  • come on, who cares what the song about?? its amazin and thats all.

  • LSD isn't as dangerous as alcohol, so everone should know what he want to take but i think that driving and stuff like that should not be allowed if u take drugs or drink alcohol.

  • wtf is an "idots", and lay off the caps, retard

  • u mad?

  • This is the best song I think the world will ever see.

  • ya he got the name of the song from his son, but if you look at the lyrics closely, the lyrics have the side effects of lsd which are pretty obvious....... girl with kalydoscope eyes... aka dilated eyes "LSD", "girl so incredibly high", and this music video isnt trippy at all..

  • You don't have to listen closley mr. Obvious. And he DID get the title from his son. John isn't stupid enough to put LSD in acronym if he did get the inspiration from it. Fans should know these things, man!

  • this is mushrooms...

  • this song is not based on lsd. john lennons son, julian, drew a picture and named it lucy in the sky with diamonds

  • actually name lucyin the sky, no diamonds inth nme what s ever the added diamonds as tey sing about what lsd is like

  • the diamonds were the stars. i know LOTS

  • the picture story was just a cover-up. this song is indeed about trippin on acid. paul confirmed that in an interview a while back.

  • this shit is really crazy on lsd.

    its fucking amazing!

  • first time i heard this was in catholic school and came home to realise it was from my parents generation lol

  • lucy bttr get down here!!! i want some diamonds too!!!

  • The bass part is sooo loud in this song...it's awesome.

  • Haha I remember when I was little I used to sing this song and my daycare teacher called my parents and yelled at them for playing me a drug song. Good times lol.

I still love this song though.

  • itz funny LSD thats the beatles for you

  • OH YEAHHH!!!

  • who gives a shit about the meaning. they're were all so fucked up on acid, they just wrote what they saw.

  • That's why they're so awesome!

  • amazing song.

  • w/e the song is about its fuckin amazin and if it is LSD i wanna try it

  • 'noite de [L]ua, [S]ensação de [D]esvaneio'

  • A song without meaning is like Chips without Dips.

    Mac without Cheese.

    Tacos without the Filling.

  • DUMBASS

  • stfu. im not a dumbass becuase i dont think this song has a meaning..if you have ever read anything about this song then you would know what im talking about. so stfu.asshole.

  • lsd or not, it's a brilliant song!

  • lsd ........babyyy.........

  • This song is partly about Julian Lennon's drawing as a child, and partly about "Through The Looking Glass" by Lewis Carroll. Although, LSD did influence most of what they did in this part of their career, so maybe that did have some influence on it.

However, it's not what it's solely about, if it's about LSD at all. Read what they say, dude; when a song's about drugs, they don't like about it. They don't lie about their music. Hell, John openly admitted to hating some songs ("Hello Goodbye"!).

  • i <3 the beatles

  • Newspaper taxis appear on the store

    Waiting to take you away

the actual line is -- shore not store

    the rest are right tho

  • LSD!!! awesome song :]

  • how many athletes take steroids, before we knew it they were the best, here the Beatles got spiked with it then they found out and kept doing lsd but it might affect the music development, but! they still made great songs, it can be for someone who just wants to escape life by thinking about being a paradise so to speak!!

    I like the song!!!!!!!

  • o wow, i jst relized the lsd in the title, thats pretty sick haha

  • this is my favorite beatles song, besides maxwells silver hammer.

  • they're very cool

  • Love this song, it's amazing.

    The video's cool aswell. :)

  • i love this video! its sooo awesome

  • For those of you who have the DVD and grew up seeing the movie in the theater and on TV, watch the movie and then, when the songs are about to be played, switch to the mono mix. This song, in particular gains a lot of power. The Beatles fussed over their mono mixes and while I realize that George Harrison oversaw the new mix on the DVD, I am still used to the mono versions. "It's All Too Much" sounds nice this way, too, distortion on the soundtrack and all.

  • this one time i asked my music teacher if this song was about lsd. she said "no."

  • Seriously? LOL!!!

  • LSD

    Lucy Sky Diamonds

  • Uh, it's not.....

  • yay! :D

  • L. ucy in the S. ky with D. iamonds...the BEATLES' first, one and the only' LSD tribute!

    BEATLES' voice runs to ETERNITY!

  • Hahahaha you make yourself so so ignorant saying that dumb shit. What makes you think this song is about LSD? Apparently the fact that John Lennon had an imagination, and didn't need LSD to accomplish visual trips. Well none of us do actually but it takes years to get your mind to that level. This is not an LSD tribute, if anything it's a tribute to his son Julian or Lucy O' Donnel the girl Julian drew in the painting that inspired this song. Simple research

  • fuck you!

  • don't get angry because you're an ignorant little dumb fuck who doesn't know shit about the Beatles, but just goes along with all the other moron fan boys thinking this song is about LSD. You're the exactly kind of people John Lennon thought were fucking idiots.

  • not saying the songis about lsd or inspired by it, but the beatles did do it on numerous occasions.

also the beatles had almost nothing to do with this video or Yellow Submarine.

  • Yeah I know they did on occasions, who didn't back then, especially if you were in a band or in the entertainment industry, that just made it easier for them to get their hands on it. And all they did for this film was approve of the script and give the recorded songs.

  • Originally John Lennon said the song was inspired by a painting of his child but when he tragically passed away Paul admitted that the song was actually about LSD

  • Too bad McCartney didn't write this song, so I don't care what he has to say about it.

  • so? wether he's written it or not, he knows what it's about.

  • Well apparently not...

  • Are you saying you don't know the song is about LSD? Just look at the title... And the lyrics.

  • Seems to me you're the ignorant fanboy. "Oh No, my heroes can't do anything bad like drugs."

  • Wow, you're a complete moron. When did I say they didn't do drugs? It's a pretty blatant fact that they did LSD. But this song is NOT inspired by an LSD trip. She Said She said WAS, I am the Walrus had 3 to 4 lines that Lennon wrote down while on LSD, but this song was NOT about an LSD trip. Go watch the Dick Cavett interview with John and Yoko part 4 and tell me what Lennon says. Now waiting for you to deny obvious fact.

  • yes because everytime you take lsd everything looks like a cartoon! (walk hard. A duey cox story.. watch it its funny :"D

  • Comment removed

  • read the lyrics. sounds like a trip to me lol.

  • /actually it sounds like Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. Oh yeah, that's because he got the majority of his lyrical ideas for this song from that book and several of its chapter. Especially the ALice in Wonderland chap.

  • Are you kidding? Are you really THAT innocent? Listen to the lyrics! "Picture yourself in a boat on a river, With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.

Somebody calls you, you answer quite slowly. A girl with kaleidoscope eyes" or "Follow her down to a bridge by a fountain Where rocking horse people eat marshmallow pies." or " Picture yourself on a train in a station With plasticine porters with looking glass ties." Listen to how he's singing it. The whole song is one big LSD trip.

  • Everything you have said right there is inspired from the book Through The looking Glass, specifically the Alice In Wonderland chapter. Innocence has nothing to do with it, what has to do with it is reading about the Beatles and actually knowing your shit, as opposed to believing the same ignorant and stupid things that every dumb fan boy who thinks he knows the Beatles thinks. Maybe you should get the book 'Hard Days Write' by Steve Turner, that will tell you what every song is about.

  • @faygohomie69 Seems to me that silly painting story is the ignorant and stupid thing every dumb fan boy thinks is true. Please think for yourself and stop disbelieving Sir Paul..he was there you know.

  • @twinflame93 Awesome dumb fuck, you have commented on comments from over a year ago. I honestly could give a fuck less anyways, those comments were from my exgirlfriend who I let use my account when we were together. I'm a metalhead and I love Jazz, blues, opera and classical. I could give a shit less about the Beatles, but even though I'm not a fan of them, I apparently still know more about the Beatles than you so called 'fans'.

  • whether you are right or wrong drug-provoked songs are beautiful and a stretch that no average human mind could think quite the same way.

  • @faygohomie69 You got the simple part right. This song is flat out about an acid trip. Listen!! Even Paul recently admitted it was about acid.

  • @twinflame93 Paul didn't write the song moron. And why would they 'cover it up' and John would so zealously deny the LSD references in this song yet admit to other songs being about LSD?

  • I love this song. The animated video is awesome.

  • nice clip.

  • This is my favorite song from the Beatles. I just love it- IDK why.

  • HAHAHAHA LSDD NIGGAAA

  • chek the 2: 02 look like an old women k no??

  • at 1;57 in the video chek watt it is!!

  • oops LSD* XD

  • LCD ^^

  • fucking trippy, but still a great song

  • i am the walrus is about critics saying they can't write lyrics and the songs r pointless thus they made i am the walrus for it

  • not to say ur not but i dont think you are cuz i knew some guys in my church who had every record every caset every cd every movie and most every other merchandise that was made, as well as being able to play about 30 of their songs on the guitar and the drums. they were freaks, are you that big of one?

  • except it is about lsd

im the BIGGEST beatles fan you will ever meet

they were tricked into thier lsd taking..it was slipped into thier coffee

they all had it a few more times except john who had it a lot

john came home one day and saw his son june(hey jude fame) had drawn a picture of a girl named lucy in amoungst stars...thus he included this in his song about his trip

so yes its about lsd.. but there is a little more to it.. but its mostly lsd

  • Yeah until he meets me :)

But you are right about most this stuff on here. Except I thought John's son's name was Julian...unless June is some sort of nick name, but I don't think so. This song doesn't contain anything from any of his acid trips. I am the Walrus does, Tomorrow Never Knows, or She Said She Said. The images and words in this song are from Lewis Carroll's book Through The Looking Glass in the chapter with Alice in Wonderland.

  • Here is a fact for all you people...THIS SONG IS NOT ABOUT LSD!

  • LUCY IN THE SKYYYYY WITH DIAMONDSS <3

  • LSDDD OIGAAAA IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ese video muy flallero soludos ema

  • LSDs man LSDs im a rocking horse person

  • I LIKE THIS SONG :):):)

  • I am the walrus was basically a tonne of songs John was working on put together, because someone was claiming they could see the meaning in the lyrics so he wrote a strange song.

  • Thanks lol.

at the end of I am the walrus it is said to say 'Everybody smokes pot' do u know if this is true?

is that song based n drugs? lol

  • i love this song and the beatles i went to the exebition thing about them in liverpool and i seem to be fascinated by them now. It's weird to think that maybe this song or I am the walrus is based on drugs..and im so stupid but what is LSD? its a druug isnt it?

  • basically another name for acid

  • It's a hallucinogen from the mold of rye bread. Thats the original form though. Now a days it's been tinkered with my man and it comes on a strip that you put in your mouth or on a part of your body, or you can take it in hits, or you can swallow it like a pill. I have never used it. But this song is not about that drug. That's just what people assume when they don't know anything about the song

  • John Lennon or any of the other Beatles never wrote entire songs while on LSD. There were a couple lines John had written down for I am the walrus, and he would write songs later from images and thoughts he had while on the drug. Like She Said She Said, Got to get you into my life, Tomorrow Never Knows, Within Without you, and many more.

  • i'm ready to debate then. you will lose. you and anyone else who believes anything they hear. this song is not about LSD. she said she said, and got to get you into my life are both references to their acid trips but not this song. and i have everything to prove it to you. can you prove to me that this song is about LSD? i dont think so

  • i have made the mistake of using lsd in the past. though this is not MY personal trip, the description in this song is almost right on the dot

  • oh really now?

well you and john lennon must be a lot alike. and its funny how he isn't even describing an acid trip in this song but yet your acid trip was just like this...wierd. i think your full of it
