  • wow!

    that took my breath away,

    great video

  • Amazing vid bro where was this lani kai cuz I think I saw this same shark out by lani kai breakers. Scared the shit out of me and didnt get half as close as he did to you. Was about the same too if I recall. Dive safe bro. Aloha.

  • Your brave people

  • Awesome shark, thanks for the video, I'm glad you didn't shoot.

  • That did not look like a fun time... very impressive fish, but seriously uncomfortable seeing it come in closer and closer... I am yet to see a big shark spearfishing.

  • Nice Video Mate, They are cool to video in the water. Don't know what is up with some of the comments below, seems to be from inexperienced eyes I'm guessing. Respect for letting him do his sharky cruise in peace. He was just having a Bo peep at the peeps.

  • Respect oahu

  • I don't know why they shut down the beach, sharks are always in the water at all times. You can't walk into somebody's house and expect them to just not be there ;]

  • props for holding your ground and getting this sweet video. must'v been really scary and awesome at the same time.

  • Big faka!

  • jesus....i woulda shat myself

  • Thats funny, this last october i was on the big Island and went to Hapuna beach to spear fish. The thing was i cut myself a few days prior and was still bleeding a bit, even after watching this video before i went i would love to be so lucky to encounter a tiger.

  • That is one old shark.. But as a guess i def go with it being curious to what you two are would of been amazing

  • Fantastic adventure, excellent behaviour !

    Great.

    Congratulation Guys.

  • The scary thing is as quickly as he disappeared he could ease up behind you without you ever knowing.

  • valla cojones que teneis eso si es un animal un assesino muy buen video me quedo alocinante saludos.......de tenerife--menos mal que donde yo pesco no hay bichos tan grande porque si no tendre que entrar con una basuki.jajajaja

  • Man I laughed when I saw that second gun pop into shot!, I was thinking, hmmnnnn yeh I know where you're coming from!

  • major respect man. aloha!

  • Pretty sure I would have to give this guy a few warning jabs, I know that's not the best thing to do, then again showing you'll defend yourself and not just try to run is something i'm sure these creatures don't see often, which may detour them.

  • Sharks dont really harm people. Infact, in 100 years of US history, there have been less than 100 shark attack deaths reported.. Sooo by this statistic alone, deer are FAR more dangerous than any shark. Just a thought =P

  • @BomaBoi yea but with a deer all you gota do is blast a .44 magnun to the face and BAM the deer's gone.

  • Nice footage! Happy to see you keeping it cool cuz I know a lot of guys how would ... their pants.

  • hahahaha i lol when checked the second gun pointing at the tiger! but yes i would kak aswell! good job on keeping an eye on it!

  • love tigers, but they do scare the shit out of me. i spearfish to and havent run into a tiger shark yet, but idk if i could go back out if i had a experience like this, even though the shark was calm, a tiger is no joke. has your son decided to go back in the water, and or you?

  • @linkavitchC

We've been surfing many times at other spots. Have not dived there since, but hope to do so next summer. If anything, our encounter, while extremely scary, shows that not all shark meetings end in violence.

  • @oahusquid you done well to keep this calm i would have prob shit bricks and turned to try and swim away and ended up having my legs bitten

  • I think I would have poked it.

  • Guys, I can't believe you stood there while he approached you. I would waited for him to turn tto side, and shot his ass in the gills with both guns. Where was your bang stick? He wasn't swimming over to you to say "hello." Tiger sharks are one of the most dangerous sharks in the ocean. You both are lucky to be alive.

  • @Ubermann88HH

Sharks are considered sacred by many in the Hawaiian community. It would be disrespectful to kill it for no reason.

  • @Ubermann88HH You're a moron dude. On your page you have a video about how terrible it was that Orcas got taken into captivity and yet you'd call this guy a fag and want him to kill a shark because somehow you value a Whale over a Shark? Sharks are killed 10x as much as Whales.

@OahuSquid way to go. Way to be a human and a stand up one at that. Way to handle yourself and show a side of a creature that most demonize. You truly were in his house...and respect goes a long way. Amazing footage.

  • @Ubermann88HH IDIOTA!!

  • @Ubermann88HH Your a racist faggot. Go kill yourself

  • @Ubermann88HH cus he isNOT an ass hole like you!

  • @Ubermann88HH Not to bust the ball here man, shooting a tiger shark that to me look like 16-17 foot tiger, killing it will be nearly impossible unless you had like 3 rifles or maybe more. point is this man can not be a faggot brah because he had balls to stay out there run into one and actually have it come swim towards him and his son! if anyone that says why didnt you kill it? faggot, then that persons a fag because i knew you would not shoot a tiger that big and nice video man!

  • @Ubermann88HH

    Why you have no brain?

  • Anyone who thinks that big sharks like this pose no threat to divers is a moron.

I am not saying they should be eradicated by any means. But they are still dangerous animals.

  • @dalv90 They are A LOT less dangerous than donkeys, dogs, deer (yes, deer = accidents), hippos, lions, bears, tigers, elephants, snakes, scorpions, lightening, car accidents, your bathroom, a swimming pool, crossing the street, almost anything, you name it. Hell, they're even less dangerous than mosquitos. By less dangerous, I mean, less likely to die from one, than everything I've posted. P.S. I've been diving with big sharks a lot.

  • @2itch more people die from mosquitos than sharks because there is a higher population of people exposed to mosquitos than big sharks like this. I also go diving, spearfishing, and fishing and I have seen my fair share of big sharks. And for you to think that a 15 foot tiger shark poses no potential harm is very ignorant.

  • @2itch You are comparing things that don't make sense. There are orders of magnitude more people exposed to all those things you mentioned than big sharks like this one. Until you realize that, there's no point in discussing this. I'm not saying they often attack people. I'm saying that they are nonetheless very dangerous animals (as are deer, dogs, bears, swimming pools etc) and cannot be regarded as completely docile organisms. Can we at least agree on that?

  • they seem to be coming in closer every month as the year goes by...

  • Its pretty brave how the both of you did not shoot! It was also smart that you both stayed close to each other!

  • brah were u shitting bricks when he came that close??

  • greatr representation of what an encounter w a shark is really like. she was a fatty too.

  • I love this video, shows sharks so positively. I wish there was a statistic of how many people have been in the water with sharks without knowing they are there and have not been attacked. Relating statistics to vending machines or other animal attacks is never a great comparison. Great vid man

  • Just by looking at that encounter I have the impression that I lost a little weight...

  • If you didn't have the spear gun it would have attacked, you can see the eyes, it wanted to attack and saw the gun, it didn't know what it was and thought better of it

  • @ekorusoy yeah thats right! You can see its membranes about to cover its eyes, a sure sign that it was considering a bite, membranes cover sharks eyes during a bite to protect its eyes from prey, the sharks eyes actually roll back into its skull during a strike.

  • @ekorusoy

No...you're wrong. It showed no aggressive behavior and was just checking them out. The eyes rolling back is an instinctive thing that sharks do when they get up close to anything, especially when someone points something at their head.

With tiger sharks especially, they tend to open their mouth slightly when they are aggressive.

  • oh HELL no. haha. NO. I don't play this game.

  • joderrrr... did you hesitate to shoot when it came so close? I mean the spear looks so small compared to the shark.

  • ohohohohohhohohhooooooo........ alucinante..

  • Oh my goodness!! I would have cried haha! How scary! That thing was starring so hard!! O.O it's eyes look into my soul !!! Ahhh swim away

  • oh hellllll no.

  • The main reason for a shark attack is because you are in it thinks you are a threat. Mainly they bite because like us sharks are curious we learn about new objects and textures sharks are the same but they use there mouths

  • arent tiger sharks really territorial?? cos ur lucky he didnt attack

  • what would you do if the shark attack?

  • @Funmichi Not much you can do. Shoot, but that would be a LAST RESORT, and with the small guns we had, probably would not make much difference.

  • @oahusquid omg.......

  • @oahusquid dont u carry ur bootknife? stick it richt under his mounth en twist;... it will go away

  • @oahusquid go for the eyes and fight back.

  • @Funmichi SHOOT WAT ELSE?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @Funmichi u can just poke them with the tip of your spear sharks want an easy meal they go for the sick as long as u hold your ground and NEVER RUN its a fun time with an amazing animal

  • مجانين مايصيدو

  • wow!

  • Notice how it's eye was starting to blink, like it was about to roll it's eyes into the back of its head like they do when they are about to attack, it was definately interested, but as you stood your ground and didn't panic and try and run (swim) away it just moved on. Its the best tactic for dealing with big sharks, if you try and run they will go you, but stand your ground and its a different proposition

  • @SouthernCross33 Standing your ground does fuck all. If a tiger shark wants to bite you, it will fucking bite you. This animal can bite through sea turtle shells with ease, it's not scared of some scrawny human.

  • @PaiMeiBSN Well you run (swim) away when you are confronted and i'll try and stand my ground

  • @PaiMeiBSN In the end, its an animal, and behaves like an animal. If you stand your ground make eye contact and show you are not going to be an easy meal, chances are it will look for an easier meal, or he could eat you. Turn your back and run, and you're dinner for sure. You can stare down a great white.

  • great video, must of been nerve racking

  • First of all massive respect on how you responded to that moment of sheer fuct up terror, but why were you fishing then!? It looks like its overcast and the vis looks cloudy as hell, both classic times for a shark ambush! Don't go spearfishing on a cloudy low vis day!

  • "Your move creep"

  • Nice boca grande is loaded with sharks specially big ones !

  • where can u buy spearguns?

  • Ello! MY NAMES BRUCE!

  • Brah we seen one out richardsons beach. was probably that size or smaller. lucky thing we had fish cause it went for that and not for us lol.

  • did you have fish on you???

  • @TheDiveLog

No, we did NOT have any fish. We had just started our trip. We were just 20 yards from shore, in about 20 feet of water.

  • Pretty scary but not as scary as the video of the people Outside Honokohau Harbor, 1/05/08. That tiger was really showing agressive posture.

What would suck if your really deep down and you can't come up right away and you get one of these guys coming at you. Man what a nightmare that would be.

  • messed up... my worst nightmare when i go spearing

  • How close to the beach was this????

  • do you think thats the same tiger had by waikoloa beach?

  • How far out were you?

  • Humans probably killed all the non-grey sharks. He doesn't look as though he likes humans much. I really don't think anything, anywhere likes humans much. If God likes humans then why did He make that Tiger Shark?

  • I lived there once for five years...and ya I know what your thinking, ooh big deal, who gives a fuck if you lived there!

  • @mermaidshanna721 so whyd u comment that if u think that the reception it would get, dumb ass attention seeker

  • really big 1

  • Omg this is insane. I really have no idea what i would do if i saw a tiger shark like this while i was spearfishing.

  • I think I would have made enough brown shark 'repellent' in my swim shorts to see that bad boy swim far, far away.....

  • Im glad you didnt shoot it, that would have been seriously cowardly.

  • @12salem it wouldnt hav been cowardly, it would hav just been dumb, cuz then youve got ur spear embedded in a shark and no way of getting it back without killing the shark

  • I saw this besause you talked about it in a comment on another tiger shark video. That is why i came here. Because i saw that you said you had an encounter. And thats why im here, cause you said you were doing that. And here i am, watching you do that. Because you said that you had a video of you doing this, and thats why im here.

  • how scared where you when you ran into that monster?

  • dude would u have shot him if he tried anything?

  • He looks like a curious puppy

  • Great job ! Excellent water men, staying cool - that's how you do it !

  • Simply OMG !!

  • I think Tiger twitched his eye as the electric fielf off the end of the speartips started intensifying (intensity grows by range to cube power).

Magnetic field (induced) cross with watermotion produces electric field way stronger than any biological (unless you're an electric eel).

  • I THINK YOUR GONNA NEED A BIGGER BOAT.....WAIT A MINUTE.......

  • What a beast!!

  • better day than night huh cuz? still gave me chillz.

  • i shit my pants =)

  • WOW! This is Exactly the size and shape of the tiger that opened its mouth and tried to fit me inside of it last year. This is by far the best footage I've seen to describe to people what I saw under water. It was too close for me to even poke at it! look up "tiger shark story" for the full story on it, or december hawaii fishing news page 19. I think the story will have much more imagery after seeing this video.

  • Haha,it looks like you're playing a third person shooter game in an underwater level!!

  • @TheDoyleDoyle that would be 1st person lol

  • @ssj4solarflare oh yeah,haha!

  • @TheDoyleDoyle 1st person dumbass.

  • Haha she's a big girl I rekon it's sick when shit like that happens. Good shit

  • Well done to you 2 for backing each other!!! The first thing they do is check out what the hell you are and then its more likely they take a bite! its best to NOT dive there again if your stupid enough to go again make sure your watching your back or else your asking for it!!

  • That is crazy. I would have been shitting in my wetsuit. Neat experience though. Hopefully I'll get to dive Hawaii this winter and see some sharks and stuff.!

  • Shark took a look and said , ok its like that 2 on 1

I'll be back with 2 of my boys!

  • Shark bait ooaaha

  • these penisjokes.......jesus christ kid.....ur dumb...butter my ass and call my a biscute i think ur a pedo

  • Awesome video footage!

  • Damn!!! He came up for a hela close look!! I like the double spears!

  • i saw the 15' tiger outside lymans last week...he's HUGE!!

  • whoa dude heavy!

  • Stupid sharks should be killed

  • @The0rangePanda fuck you asshole.

  • @BlackIceDPS OHH IM SO SCARED

  • @The0rangePanda Disregard what I said before.

  • @The0rangePanda stupid people like you shuld be fucked

  • @greatwhite770 I should be fucked? Ok...

  • mi sn cagato sotto spero non arrivino mai nel mediterraneo

  • scary the way they cut through the water so silently - very brave camera work

  • They should put you guys on the discovery channel next year for shark week

  • Hahaha awesome

  • how warm was your wetsuit after?

  • I was 1 mile north kayak fishing the day after not knowing and was wondering why the beaches were empty...I seen 3 13footers so far and it's erie when they stare at you while passing by....Glad you guys were able to shars the footage...

  • @jusyakkin Jason, just got spooled for 400 yds of Powerpro this past week north of Punaluu. Never saw the shark but the day before was talking to a couple Kalapana fishermen in the park and they saw a 16 footer swim by. Possible great white.

  • sharks dont like being confronted, because your then not acting as prey, they do not like eye contact and liek most predators actually quite cowardly

  • Oh my god I'm laughing so hard at the comment down there lol

"Awww sharkies are so cute" xD

Idk why but that's funny as hell

  • Shark: FAKASAP!? FAKAWAT!? *see's speargun* oh fuck!

  • :24 sec... shark says "your ok, i'll let u live... today"

  • He was looking for his share.

  • shit like that doesnt get that big by just swimming away from large prey items... its a good thing you got out of the water when you did

  • I'd like to see what would have happened if you had your back facing that thing

  • godam that made my penis shrivel up and turn into a vagina.

  • @lnsyone i literally laughed out loud when i read this comment.

  • Wow that's really cool! That must of been a great experience!!! ;)

  • That's awesome you didnt shoot it, like the idiot's I saw earlier.

  • That thing was huge !!! , he coulda bitch slapped those spearguns right outta yer hands and ripped himself off a few chunks!

  • Good for you though, it's pretty rare to see a shark there unless you paddle out to the moacs... I live in Kailua during the summer and I've never seen a single shark.

  • I would have shit my pants twice.

  • Woah! squeaky bum time!

  • Very nice... Fricken close!

  • Did he just "Wink " at you he said " Got you heheheheh!!!

  • Fuck. That.

  • Great video! This is the right way of spearfishing in deep water. People should learn more about sharks and prevention of shark attacks.

  • That's why when I got to the carribean and film underwater I'm carry a frickin KBAR

  • Sik. Amakua baby cheeeee

  • Comment removed

  • I thing I would have pulled the trigger.. Not because I wanna kill the thing.. But I would be damn scared!

  • @jonaswadil If you did that and it didnt die immediately, You'd be screwd lol

  • @ColubridCreationsTV Hahaha, that I can agree to.. but I still think that I would have a nervous trigger finger :D

  • You know why PEOPLE!, Majority of the MANOs (sharks) Is our Ohanas Aumakua!

    -Nuff sedd.

  • Wow, that was one beautiful shark. You guys were so lucky and brave!

  • The shark booked it cause he smelt human shit when he got close haha damn I was nervous watching the video you guys are way to composed

  • your lucky tiger sharks go up close and swim away a bit so they can catch you off guard when they bite so if you didnt have those guns or went to swim away it might have attacked you

  • are you supposed to point your guns in their face? seems like that would make you look aggressive, is that how you defeat a shark, mind games lol?

  • U are both brave! Held your ground, shark sence that, awesome.

  • @oahusquid man i would

  • were you scared

  • I was at that beach 2 days before that

  • He was saying hello with his eyes(winking)

  • I love the water. Its so clear.....

  • Shark is like: DURRRRR, ALOHA!, HURRRR POOON , ADIOS

  • most people don't know it, but tiger sharks are far more aggressive and have more kills to their name than great whites. on that note, great video

  • Man i will not swim with sharks

  • you must of been tripping out! glad you guys didn't get attacked or anything.

  • I crapped my pants just watching this, mean footage though!

  • Shark hunter*

  • I was just behind you guys when this happened, I seen it too!

I am shark I was to try and catch film of the shark. But I got film of them later at A bay!
