  • right now im reading "tigers in the mud" Otto Carius talks about his last tank, it was called a hunting tiger. he said the turrent did not turn. does anybody know what kind of tank he was talking about. he said that the barrel had to be lock down for a road march. im guessing it was a tank destroyer of some sort.

  • @drod103164 he is talking about the 'jagdtiger' they had to lock the gun in a fixed position to transport/driving around.

  • heil shitler!

  • What a total disgrace, this place is not fit to be called a museum,it is more like a large scrapyard.

Why are these historic vehicles that people fought and died in not being displayed and treated with the dignity that they deserve.

An appalling waste, the curator should be shot.

  • @athaidream what are you seeing in the video that has you so upset? i would love to see all these machines running myself. and i would like to see them inside.

  • @drod103164

Back in the UK I used to help restore WW2 military vehicles,I know how rare these now are and also how much love and dedication and how many hours it takes to restore and bring one of these back from the dead,to allow them to rot and rust in the open air is a disgrace.

  • I can't stand to watch history gets rusted down the drain.

  • True...with the place these tanks hold in history, how could they just sat and allow them to rust away...in 50 years...what will they look like...

  • remember back in the day when big guns was the thing.

  • Look at the road wheels and track!!!! It makes even M60s used the 1980s look like puke!

Fantastik engineering! I wish I could been on a line of six blasting the shit out of the Russians!!

  • drooled over hetzer

  • 0:03 Jagdtiger

    0:55 Jagdpanther

they are the most epic tanks of german forces in WWII

well thats what i think :3

  • @FireFightingBoy I'd say the King Tiger is a big more impressive than the Jpanther, but the Jagdtiger was incredibly strong for the war, there isn't a record of it hitting a tank and not immediately destroying it.

  • @EclipsingMomentum If you see a Kingtiger You can Flee but theres no Escapeing the Jagdpanther with his 55 KmH Topspeed.

    Did you consider that? ^^

  • @ChukN0rris a jagdpanther isn't going to chase you, and neither of the tanks would be within range where they would need to chase you anyways. Almost all German tanks in WW2 fought from a very far range (over a mile, more times than not).

And the king Tiger's gun and armor were much better, and it actually had a turret.

  • @EclipsingMomentum

I just wanted to point out that the Jagdpanther is a heck of a lot Faster and more reliable

Besides ... what good is a Tower if the enemy is a Mile away ; )

  • @ChukN0rris P.S. they have the sam Main Gun

  • @ChukN0rris It also had much less armor though, and the KT's gun is a little bit better. The KT was also one of the few tanks the Germans used to get into close combat. As far as reliability goes I can't really comment.

  • @EclipsingMomentum Wasnt it the same gun for both?

youre right with the armor of course but its why the JP is reliable and the KT is not

The KT would scare the shit out of me if i was an allied tank comander but the JP is the better tank

  • @ChukN0rris I'm just saying when it's in a shootout against other tanks the KT is substantially better, from a distance the JP is probably better because it can run/set up somewhere much faster, and considering the germans did engage forma range a lot you could argue the jp is better, but I'd say the KT is the better fighting tank.

I don't think the same gun was on both though, if I remember right they were both 105mm but the KTs was a longer barrel and a little more accurate.

  • @FireFightingBoy but its a shame that the Panzerwagen Maus never been finished...that thing was only awesome! :D

  • @sp33dfr that thing was too heavy the engine couldn't take it Px

  • @FireFightingBoy i thought one was nearly ready ? Oo

  • Jagdpanther ;)

  • contrast this American museum against the British tank museum in Bovington where the tanks are much better cared for and most of them run and drive too. While the priceless treasures we have sit in the weather and deteriorate. Its criminal if you think about it.

  • These tanks look almost drivable!

  • Great collection, nice vid. Though its a shame to hear that the tanks aren´t better taken care of. Its a treasure of history and military technology here.

  • Am I a dork because I can name all these tank destroyers at a glance ?..even by such extensive views of the wheels and tracks..lol.. gonna shoot ID's from the hip, correct me if I'm wrong.

    0:00-0:43 Jagdtiger

    0:44-2:13 Jagdpanzer V -Jagdpanther

    2:40-4:40 Jagdpanzer IV L/70

    4:41-5:07 Jagdpanzer 38(t)-Hetzer

    5:08-5:32 Russian Su 100

    5:33-6:14 StuG III F/8

    6:15-6:58 Marder III M

    7:00- 8:00 Nashorn

and a quick shot of an American M4 Sherman hull

  • @rascalferret

    You are 100% right!

What does the green su-100 do there, in the german line ? no logic in that... ...

Out of the list above, the only ones who were produced in quantity were the StuG, the Hetzer and the Marder III. The Jagdpanther is considred to be the best of them all, alongside the russian su-100, The JagdPz4 a little less. The Jagdtiger was just too heavy to maintain reliabilty and came too late.

  • @CandleOfGod Agreed.... hey,in PART 2 of this museum vid ,there is a vehicle next to the Brummbar @2:48 that I cant' ID,it's an odball to me ,a hybrid? a prorotype ? Pz IV chassis and hull but what is it? ( it's in part2 )

  • @rascalferret

The vehicle at 2:44 in the second part of the video is a self propelled gun prototype named "Heuschrecke 10".

It had a removable turret. Never mass produced.

  • @CandleOfGod thanks! yeah..never heard of it...not a bad idea, kinda sensless..but interesting nonetheless. Logistics must've been a nightmare with all the different designs and weapons.

  • слава России!!

  • why are these not in a building some where being restored?

Then put on display some where not open to the elements

  • JAGDTIGER, no turret, big gun, thick armor. :)

  • Aberdeen Proving grounds don't look after the tanks they have in their museum, i've seen a HEAP of pictures of tanks in that museum where they've just been painted white and never had any care again.

Shame on them for ruining some of the last great tanks.

  • what a shame they look so god damn shabby

  • thanks for posting this video record!!

  • jadgpanzer IV and jadgpanther look awsome. sleek with powerful guns

  • We must always keep these around to remind us of the insanity of war.

  • I've been to Bovington in Dorset, they have a Jagdtiger and others, all kept indoor and looked after.

  • Why would they leave these things outside to rust away ?

  • Thanks for the video. I hope to someday visit Aberdeen just to see these last examples of legendary machines. It's really great to see some of them and the current condition they are in. I also agree that these things should be kept in running condition and better protected. I believe a few are sole surviving examples.

  • it would be great to restore these machines and keep them protected but to many fat and lazy stupid wastes of human flesh are taking all our money away!

  • These are in terrible condition really. They should be better cared for. These German Tanks and AFVs of WW2 shaped the modern battle tank and infantryman of today.

  • I though for something to be a tank it must:1 have a turrent 2: be able to rotate 360 deg.

  • Great video, absolutely superb! Thanks for posting :)

  • great news about these historic machines are going to be stored indoors hopefully restored to running also? id love to see these being used by reenactors!!

  • The Nazis, The Waffen SS, the real cornerstones in military history of whom set the precedents for moder day military commando/special forces operations ................ well let it be known that they were soldiers not beasts of whom were honourable in many capacities of war. 2nd SS Das Reich tankers are an elite class of men. Germany personified mankind. Germany personifies mankind. Their spilling of blood is the largest sacrafice of valor for mankind. Long Live the Fatherland!! Uber Alles!!

  • @DetroitLove4U members of Das Reich murdered 642 French civilians including children how the hell does that personify mankind? there is nothing honorable about the Waffen SS they were thugs bigots and scum the Heer and Luftwaffe i'll give ground and say their honorable but the Waffen SS are and always will be scum better yet if you think the Waffen SS personifies mankind go tell a holocaust survivor that the Waffen SS may not have taken part in the holocaust but they sure as hell supported it.

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring In the same context - WHAT ARMY OF ANY NATION HAS NEVER COMMITTED SUCH ATROCITIES DURING ANY WAR???? You seem to make a monumental oversight .............. this is not a wedding, nor is it some sort of ambiguous joke, it's called war or conflict. I certainly see how your maladroit innuendos of perception have encapsulated your mind in some eerie definition of the Waffen SS. Well around mid 1944 with shortages of men - the SS placed in it ranks serious imprisoned offenders,

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring murderers, rapists, and all kinds of incarcerated individuals. It's quite elucidated beyond the shadow of a doubt you did not read what I said. Although I paid credence to the Waffen SS - I stated Germany personified mankind and does personify mankind - hence not the Waffen SS. Anyhow, the 2nd SS Das Reich Division was largely composed of educated men. When one receives orders as a dedicated soldaten one carries them out. That said you can argue your garbage as you please.

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring Let the record show that the British were the first to employ concentration camps in Africa in the 1920's ................ where's their condemnation??

If the Nazis did not eradicate the Jews do you simply beilieve, as a part of military strategies, the Germans would erect cadres of camps in the 100's or several 1000 and deploy much needed men to enforce these camps just to keep enemies of the state alive? To release them and expect what?? No counter attack? Take the 5th.

  • @DetroitLove4U all i can say is you're a disgusting human being.

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring And I will say - you're not a human being so be remiss in the mind that you are. What a pity.

  • @DetroitLove4U ,concentration camps were about long before the british empire, long long before.

  • @DetroitLove4U ,concentration camps were about long before the british empire, long long before.read your history book again

  • @DetroitLove4U But the British concentration camps WERE concentration camps and not INTENTIONAL MASS MURDER camps. Also concentration camps were around long before 1920. US Indian 'reservations' for example?

  • @DasFuhrerinagstring US and British bombers killed tens of thousands of civilians at the end of the war in 1945 when there was absolutely no need and Germany had already collapsed. What was the purpose of bombing Dresden?

  • @jackzero99 ,the same could be asked of the luftwaffe, after they blitzed coventry they released remaining bombs on nuneaton a town 10 miles away killing many.

  • @MrOutofthis How many is "many" and was the war over at that time? Dresden happened after Germany had already collapsed and the result of the war was known.

  • At 1:47 it's a Jagdpanther

  • one day hopefully the yanks will realise the real historical value of these machines and will catch up with global trends to restore and preserve these vehicles lets face it how many people would pay to come and see these vehicles running .you could easily make a few million not to meantion movie industry applications i hope there some billionare investors out there who can make it happen the field guns included!

  • @nissmoguy "The museum has announced plans to move most of its collection to a massive, all-indoor museum at Fort Lee, south of Richmond, Virginia, in 2011."

    Wiki find :)

  • it is Jagdpanther, not Tiger

  • Great museum but why haven't the curators spent a bit more time having the exhibits painted in camo with authentic markings?

  • i don't want to know how many death these shown tanks caused .....

  • Thanks so much for the posting. Is there a chance you could put in sub titles of the tank model names? I would love to learn more.

    Peace to all.

  • from 6:45 to the end is an Hummel right?

  • @hivemind99999 nope. the Hummel starts at 7:00

  • @hivemind99999 nope. the Hummel starts at 7:00 and goes till 8:04

  • @00BEATE0BARDEN00

Nope, its actually Panzerjager Hornisse / Nashorn

  • It's sad to see the machines rusting in the sun.

  • Hunting Tank lol !

    Tank-hunter FFS !

  • nice museum mate 5***** i wish to have oportunity to visit it one day .....

  • Great Video!! I like going to APG seeeing the Museum, but it will be moving shortly to northern Virginia..That will suck, because I can drive there now in 30 minutes....Oh well?

  • @sum12see Please go , and have more video post, May be a German WW2 Elephant tank. and whatever left out. I is a historical treasure of ww2 tanks out there.

  • I hope our historians take good care of these vehicles, so that they may be on display for the world for many years to come. And I hope that younger generations never forget the horror and suffering of ww2, so that the human race never again strays into such a debacle.

  • Gradually the tanks are being restored and moved, I believe, to a new facility at Ft Lee, Virginia. The partially restored German Elefant (Ferdinand) Assault Gun featured on "Tank Overhaul" was moved.

  • yes most of the tanks look horrible they just need new painting, but, let's be honest, they are outside in the grass where wild Tigers and Panthers have to be with clean air tp breath! and the nice blue sky makes it a nice diorama. looks more look beautiul than in a poky building...

  • Aberdeen is in Scotland UK........there is no such tank museum in Scotland

  • it would be nice to have a tank collection like that

  • This is Aberdeen Maryland. The greatest collection of tanks in the world. They are 'maintained' or repainted from time to time. If you climb around on them a man with a big stick will come by to say hello.

  • Hmmmm Bovington in England rivals Aberdeen in U.S.A.

Moreso, because the tanks in Bovington are better cared for and are kept inside. Bovington has the world's only running Tiger I, the world's only 'Porsche' King Tiger and the world's only 'Porsche suspension' Jagdtiger.

Bovington is every bit as good as Aberdeen.

  • Awesome colection, thanks for the video.

  • It's a shame they are not being cared for.

  • its a shame we 're not cared for either .

The dust bin of history is forever .

  • @TankerUSA i know take the damn things inside so they dont rust

  • Work hard, work smart, work good not evil, do good to others.Peace not war.

  • kwokwing:

    This is awesome!!!

    Great job and thank you.

I agree with canary... the music was haunting with all that hardware.

    Late.

  • What s the name of this song?

  • Ababdon is the song's name. From youtube Audio swab.

  • Pzkpf. King Tiger & Stug. III ?

  • think king tiger (no parece), jagdpanzer stug 3 2:56 over und out

  • Thank you for adding music, it seems to tell a story of spockets, roadwheels, idlers & tracks.

  • Can't believe how much rust has been allowed to accumulate. This is supposed to be a museum, not a scrapyard. I'm sure they can find enough volunteers to keep these pieces in shape. Pretty shoddy. Good to see them on you-tube, but needs to be re-shot. You seem to have a real hard-on for tracks and road wheels. We know what they look like. You could have added more vehicles to the clip if you hadn't spent so much time with your lens in the tracks.

  • I am from the other side of this world and have to sit 16 to 20 hrs flight to New York then find someone to carry me over there. So chances of filming it again by me would be slim.

Instead anyone living nearby or the museum itself be kindly upload more videos of this museum would much be appreciated.

AS a matter of fact I have seen from TV that this museum recently restored a WW2 German Elephant tank in its static form.

  • Personally I think that it was neat to see a close up at the various tracks. Showed that there are *several* ways that they were connected; one track link to another is not the same from tank to tank.

  • @indicadave yes, appalling. if you want to see properly cared for artifacts kept in running or near running order then go to Bovington Tank Museum. Disgraceful. I would hate to see what they look like inside. They are probably a bucket of puss. Shameful.

  • You should do this video over again with a narration instead of fixating on the Jagdtiger.

  • Music is added. Experts of tanks are all around and they know what it is.

A Tamiya plastic tank catalogue helps to identify tanks.

  • Well I think someone else should buy these and paint them properly, these machines once conquered the lands of Europe and they are a part of our history.

  • nice footage of interesting vehicles...shame about the 'angry nerd brigade' who populate youtube

  • those machines are STILL the property of the German Government....they should be returned the German people in respect of their military history.

  • No they are not,not legally or morally you can't lose a war and then demand your toys back .

  • with respect to military history and the fact Germany lost 2 world wars WW1 and WW2 the only thing being returned to the german people is another beatdown . gtfoh assfag sore loser.

  • These are German tank killers. No turrets, cheaper to produce, w/about a 17 degree gun traverse. What was the model range? AG7 or something...

  • yeah, cheaper to produce because of turret. But they had better armor so it could be used as a bunker. And the cannon was stronger in the Jagdpanzers.

Worse precision but better firepower qand armor

  • these tanks have to been in GERMANY. where they`r were built. not in the USA. they can t paint them in the right colour

    DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND DEUTSCHLAND!!!

  • These vehicles rest now. But their power will never be forgotten.

  • idiot Americans, painting them white.

It does not do them justice.

  • not trying to do them justice. thats the point of the white paint u dumbass.

  • Right from the start with an insult.

Do some research asshole before running your obviously stupid mouth. They are painted light gray (grey) as a primer coat. It stands up to the elements better and doesn't fade like true warpaint. Otherwise they would have to be painted every 4 months to keep them "having justice done". I'm sure the folks that take care of these pieces of history wouldn't mind your help maintaining "the justice".

  • Yes, it is an insult buttwipe. Keeping them in this primer color does not do them justice indeed. Is it so hard to store them inside somewhere and have them painted in the original colorscheme? No need to redo them every so months then...Oh yeah, right, they are not Made in The USA, so they have to stay outside......every dumb thing you can ever think of in the USA has some sort of shrine or something stupid that is beng put up, but real artefacts are neglected to hell.....

  • Remembering that you guys originate from the scum of Europe that was kicked overseas....nuff said...

  • Dude, take it easy! It is a shame, that these have had to deal with the elements for so long. At least they are still in "one piece" for us to appreciate. Recently, the Elefant was redone in typical German colors. Perhaps the rest will too, and soon.

  • good stuff

  • These are now History. Please do not think too much about it. To me these are only Tamiya models get real.

  • How would you like to be in a trench and this thing crawling toward you.

  • Were these images taken in Bovington, UK ?

I know that in that place there's one of the most

    important tank museum...

  • The image was taken from Aberdeen Maryland , US Ordnance Museum.

British Bovingtonington Tank Museum have tanks painted nicely and stored indoor well kept.

  • wow nice jagdtiger

  • i visited aberdeen awhile back.. you have to see those german tanks to believe how massive they were..especially the jagdtiger.the allies that fought them had to be suicidally brave..

  • they were outnumbered most of the time though, so if your in one of 5 shermans fighting the jagdtiger you dont have to be suicidal.

  • Die JagdTiger

  • thats called Der Jagdtiger

habt ihr nicht richtig deutsch gelernt xD

  • Lol, :P

  • wotz ups xD?

  • beside yer poor comment the jagdtiger was a failure. it was a very impressive piece of german design but way out of being effective. out of a jagdtiger there could have been built several panthers. the jagdtiger was a driving bunker. useful in assault battles like in stalingrad but this time was long OVER. the jagdtiger never effected anything but suckin ressources. and btw. "Die JagdTiger" isnt spelled completely wrong. in plural it would be Die Jagdtiger.

  • hahaha geil^^ Die ....

  • Jagdpanther my fav

  • SdKfz 186 - Panzerjäger Jagdtiger

This thing had impenetrable frontal armor

  • Jah but it lacked in mobility and it couldn't turn its turret to fire, so they were incredibly vulnerable against more mobile tanks such as the T-34

  • yeah, but well you had to flank around these things - and even that isn't an easy task when you just can't kill it, even at point-blank range, when it formed the spearhead of an attack, but it could knock out a t-34 at 2-3 kilometers range.

  • it was a huge waste on ressouces thats all

  • Comment removed

  • alter, is das dein ernst?

  • it´s unfair...this old german tanks are in the USA....This Tanks are German...They must be in Germany I think!!!!

  • Top video thanks for posting.

  • sitting outside rotting away in the weather. these beasts should be inside, if we really want to preserve history the right way.

  • 3rd is Jagdpanzer IV

  • Comment removed

  • the second one is a Jagtpanther

  • Second tank is the Jagdpanther. The 3rd is the Jagdpanzer IV.

  • They should be restored.not left to rot away

  • I could not agree with you more, they should be given the correct numbering and paint colors and given to museums who will care for them.

  • i absolutely agree.....its still history and should be preserved......not to mention they are in a class of thier own.

  • And if those babyes had been in scandinavian front, railroad from arkangeli and murmansk wold be stopped, and nickel mines from petsamo wold be secured. And march to moscow might be possiple..

  • USA should return all of Germany's tanks. It's not the German's fault American engineering doesn't compare with German enginuity. Just be satisfied with the masses of Shermans. It's numbers that won you the war so why not be proud of the masses of tommycookers that you have stocked?Just fill a field with those toy tanks and it will be equaly impressive as 1 tiger LOL

  • oh god no O_o germany would put them to scrap metal as evil nazi tanks lol we are totally brainwashed to hate anything that happend between 1933 and 1945.

  • Oh god the myth of German workmanship strikes again. Just remember tanks were invented by the British, torsion bar suspension by the French, and sloped armour by the Americans. That must have taken serious innovation to put it all together. Maybe they should have spent some time designing a gearbox that wasn't shit. Oh and as for tommy cookers, just remember that the Sherman actually had diesel variants (M4A2) and wet stowage for ammunition. Meanwhile axis tankers burned to death just as often.

  • German Tanks are the Best, the allied tanks are often good, but the German Tanks were allways better.....hahaha

  • Too bad individual tank specifications are irrelevant from a strategic perspective. Guderian defeated superior French, British, and Russian tanks using Pz. IIIs, IVs and Pz. 35 and 38ts in 1939-1942,. Likewise, the Americans beat crack SS troops using M4s, M10s and M18s later. Proper application of force is more important than the strength of the force itself. Schwerepunkt motherfucker do you understand it?

Also lol @ Germanophiles downrating my posts. Go jerk off over your model king tigers.

  • Comment removed

  • LOL, The most western allies every saw of the wehrmacht was 1/10. The fighting was on the eastern front. D-Day was only important to western propaganda. After Kursk, only the nazi youth and generally young recuits were available to face the west with the odd crack troops who had no support.

D-Day did prevent the soviets from taking all of Europe though.

  • Perhaps you should go read a book before you come to a conclusion. The western allies faced many elite German units on their push east, and north through Italy.

  • Perhaps you should stop reading western based propoganda books. The western allies may have faced many germans, but never over 1/10 of their strenght. That was for the commies.

The war was decided at Stalingrad and Kursk.

  • Do you know how to read at all? I didn't say that we fought more Germans than the Soviets, I just said that we fought numerous very elite units.

As for where the war was decided, placing it on any particular battle is sheer ignorance. Stalingrad and Kursk couldn't have happened without lend lease trucks and tanks, just like how we couldn't have beaten the Germans if they had fought a single front war.

  • You said go read a book before I come to a conclusion. And that was a reply that the US/British/Austrilian, etc did not ever face over 1/10 of the german army. With the exception of the ardennes (which became the largest force in the west which was 1/10 the german army).

Those crack american troops would not have stand so long if it wasn't for the actual war in the east.

You read something other than GI Joe! ROLF!!!
