  • Dip toothbrush into baking soda, one drop-off peppermint oil.. Simple.

  • I made some homemade olive oil tooth soap. I put tea tree oil and neem oil in it. After it had cured, I chopped it up very fine and put it in with baking soda, xylitol and kaolin clay. I really have enjoyed using this tooth powder as a preliminary cleaning and then I use a homemade toothpaste.

  • what did u put there??? 3:35 ??? pls answer ASAP 'cause i need it for my thesis thx :))

  • :]

  • OMG!!! I KNOW U GUYS WANT TO HELP THE EARTH ANS EVERTHING.... BUT ARE U SURE THAT'S SAFE??!???!

    IT LOOKS DISGUSTING!!!

    BUT VERY CREATIVE!!!

  • @girlyoudontknow319 What you should be asking, is if your fluoride laden commercial grocery store toothpaste is safe! They are using natural clay which has minerals in it (helps build the teeth) & horsetail which is also good for the teeth (look it up) & some peppermint extract. It's soo natural, how can they go wrong?! I wouldn't use mud from the ground around here because of parasites & pathogens but I do use a bentonite clay & find many other great uses for it too. think outside the box.

  • @Alina674 I'm sorry? I'm just asking.... I think

  • I LOVED IT!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!! I WILL DEFINITELY DO IT!!!

  • My professor told me that horsetail has hardly any predatorns because of the silica destroying their teeth....?

  • Where can I find the ingredients for this toothpaste? I really need something natural to help with getting my teeth healthy. Please answer as soon as you can!!

  • LOl! Mud for tooth paste!!! Here in NY City getting mud you might get a used condum or dog doo in your teeth! LOL!

  • Fascinating but some people live in very industrialized areas - I wouldn't go collecting mud from next to the Delaware river, you know?

  • @travelsatnight You can use white clay instead XD

  • using things you can get anywhere? fine Alaskan glacial silt? I know you all mentioned dirt by a stream bed? but, really?

  • Can you post detailed recipe for this?

  • @DropThatBitchTV: I placed a detailed recipe for tooth paste on my channel in the comment section.

  • I'm sorry, I watched it 3 times and she never said what was in the dropper. She just picked it up and decided she needed 4 drops, but never let us know what it was. Something for flavoring?

  • @rsbickmore She put in four drops of peppermint or mint extract for flavoring.

  • wont your teeth be gray

  • What was the receipt??? what was the drops she put in there? I could not hear it..Thank you

  • @consuelo1962: I just wanted to respond since you haven't received an answer as yet. The drops on the toothbrush is the actual mixture of the "toothpaste".

  • michel7773 ...DESSERT ESSENCE tooth paste does not contain floride in it. I use it and am very happy with it.

  • @fighthate I 2nd that. I also have fluoride free dessert essence toothpaste and it is very good.

  • I use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide, sometimes I use Uncle Harry's tooth powder. But I want to give this recipe a go.

  • Changed career went into CAD, also had high blood pressure, bleeding gums and constant nose bleeds. Read about the mercury and had the fillings removed 3 years later arm and leg are as new. Started to learn about Flr, 5 years ago stopped, blood pressure now normal, no more nose bleeds and my gums no longer bleed. Also, feel much more alert

I now have two grandchildren, no F, organic diets and neither have been vaccinated, both are pictures of health. Try and avoid F especially in water

    Enjoy

  • @deadrebel2 That's amazing. When I studied fluoride when I was in Naturopathic school, I just couldn't believe it was legal to put a poison in water and toothpaste, which the population need everyday. AND it was actually proven NOT to help fight tooth decay after all, and it's STILL in water and all the toothpastes at the supermarket. Right now I live in Ecuador, and there isn't a single toothpaste that doesn't have fluoride.

    Thanks for the post.

  • Runescape Music Rly??? That Makes Me Hate This Video

  • Where is the raw spirit fest?

  • Hydrogen peroxide and Baking Soda. It's incredible!

  • I use Himalaya USA organic toothpaste. No Sodium Lauryl Sulfate,No fluoride,Gluten free etc... and new iherb.com customers can using ongoing coupon code TAW742 to receive a free tube or $5 off any purchase with the code.(valid for 1 person per household) I'm also going to try the coconut oil home made toothpaste remedy.

  • did she say you can use DIRT to clean your teeth??

  • Right I just off to the nearest Glacier for some silt lol. 3 parts baking powder (cleaner and sweetner) 1 part salt ( the abrasive) a few drops of pepper mint or wintergreen oil (for flavor) and if you wish for paste them add 3 teaspoons of glycerin (anti bactrial) now add extra 10-20 drops of flavor oil of your choice with enough water to make it "tooth pastie" oh and 2 teaspoons of moon dust (just kidding).

  • I'm new to this and am overwhelmed. You all need to make a DVD. I live unhealthily.

I'm poor and live in the city...'food' at supermarkets is cheap. REAL toothpaste costs $5 at a health food store. Commercial toothpaste costs 1/5th of that. Check this out.....

I went to a dentist after 3 yrs, barely flossed. The assistant couldn't believe how little plaque I had, she said it was 'abnormally low'. : ) I eat half a cup of raw ginger (cheap) every night. I haven't a clue if this is why?

  • I'm new to this-where do you buy these ingredients?

  • i make a tooth powder by powdering and mixing peppermint, neem, and myrrh with a ratio of about 10:10:1.

when using dirt, what about harmful microbes/worms?

  • @withoutnameorplace can you make a video on how to do this I like the sound of neem and peppermint

  • I use a neem oil toothpaste by organix

  • @battailevideos Thanks I will have to check that out

  • Is making natural toothpast with bicarb detrimental to ones teeth?

  • send me some of that stuff

  • Do they blend the silk with the horsetail??

  • @orgay3 its silt which is a type of earth

  • I love that blonde woman in the video :-)

  • She looks so unhealthy. :-(

  • oil...olive oil i cover fresh: mint levees ,lemon balm, Stevie, oregano sweet marjoram and cat nip in the oil and let it pull the natural oils from the herbs... then put a few drops on my tooth brush...

i had 2 cavities heal by this method...i will never use tooth paste from a company again... if i don't have fresh herbs i will just brush with olive oil...it really whitens my teeth too....

  • instead of water use glycerine

  • Holy shit, are you gonna grind your teeth with SILT?! Are you fucking stupid? Use an abrasive for 10 years and see how many teeth you have left. Or see how it feels when you've completely destroyed the outer layer of your teeth and everything they touch feels like you're chewing metal foil on your fillings, except your fillings are your entire teeth!

Oh and mud is a bacteria culture. God I hope you don't have kids. Ignorant naturalists thinking believing makes something true.

  • BAKING SODA is a good natural alternative for toothpaste. It neutralizes bacteria in the mouth. Because it leaves a salty feel in the mouth, you can make a homemade mouth wash with peppermint oil and water, and voilà

  • @mariachicrazy: The problem is that most baking sodas are unsafe due to the face that most contain aluminum waste in them.

  • my dentist, a very experienced and well respected Dr., told me that toothpaste really does not do anything for the health of your teeth. it is the act of brushing itself that removes bacteria. the toothpaste adds a bit of abrasiveness to help but not much. really toothpaste is just a freshener. i actually do not use toothpaste at all because i choke on it all the time. so i just brush thoroughly with water and chew lots of gum. gum helps remove bacteria too and freshen breath.

  • most chewing gum if not all contains aspartame

  • @2011oman Cinnamon Trident doesn't.. I went to the store the other day and spent like 20 minutes looking for a gum that didn't have aspartame and Cinnamon Trident was the only one I could find. Plus it contains Xylitol which apparently aids in cavity prevention. Only thing in it that appears to be a little unhealthy is Sugar Alcohol? Which I don't know much about to tell you the truth.

  • @wickedsiksoldier sugar alcohol is a byproduct of the xylitol as well as other sweeteners, it big quantities it can cause diarrhea, and for people with diabetes it can raise your blood sugar despite the fact that its considered to have no carbs.

  • Macleans

  • I've been using Dr Bronner's soap for the longest time but what's on the video looks like something I'd rather try

  • Crazy question maybe ... but I'm just curious.

Are you and Emory married? It seems like you are, but you never refer to each other as "wife" or "husband" or even "boyfriend" or "girlfriend". Is it supposed to be a secret or something?

  • i use toms of maine toothpaste

  • what did u use for flavor

  • Where do I find oyster silt (if that's spelled correctly)?

  • she's doing it the hard way. for sparkling white teeth and fresh breath -- gargle hydrogen peroxide

(don't swallow it), then brush with baking soda -- it's cheap, easy, and highly effective! :-D

  • I'm not an expert, medical doctor, or dentist, but from what I've learned from David Wolfe, apparently mineralisation is important when it comes to teeth.

Also, I'd reason that the "terrain" of your body is important, too (i.e. is your body too acidic? Too alkaline? Does your body encourage friendly bacteria to hang out, or non-friendly, "let's recycle this organism" bacteria?).

If I were you, I'd look into why this is happening to your teeth while intelligently trying different solutions.

  • Just use natural salt, sea salt on toothbrush, thats all. Sometimes peroxide.

  • I use baking soda, then rinse with peroxide.

  • live food diet. its about how your body is absorbing vitamins minerals and proteins. cleanse then eat clean food!!!

  • how long have you been brushing with this mix and how are your teeth?

  • cont... I do use dr. christophers tooth powder and I've made a formula from a recipe he gave out using herbs. My cavaties are crazy! What more can I do? Is there any hope left for me saving my teeth? I just had two teeth pulled, all of my amalgon fillings replaced, cavities filled, and had braces put on less than a year ago. I already have more serious cavities to fill. HELP! Any suggestion?

  • I'd also suggest that you look to people who have awesome teeth and see what they do, and also look to people who have had not-great teeth, but have massively improved their teeth and see what they did.

I'd personally lean more in the direction of people who use a more natural, holistic approach, but I think it's really about what works for, and is effective for, you.

  • I feel that health issues can often be symptoms of deeper, unaddressed lifestyle or emotional issues and that addressing the deeper issues, while still paying attention to the "symptom," may help.

The "deeper issues" don't necessarily have to be major issues, either. I feel lots of comulative factors can add up and then reflect somehow in your life--your health being one way something can be reflected back at you.

  • @bearknudsen - Can you share your entire diet?

  • @bearknudsen sometimes bad teeth are hereditary if your parents teeth are week then likely yours will be too ...but most of the time it is either lack of calcium or the fact that you have lost the enamel on your teeth. or you eat highly acidic food or sweet foods acidic foods.... eat calcium rich foods and eat alot of veggies and fruits for the vitamins and dont brush and then eat or drink acidic or sweet foods that will also wear a way the enamel.... just tips my dentist gave me

  • @Witchysis31 Is there any way to replace enamel once lost? What part would brushing with chlorinated tap water play in tooth health?

  • @bearknudsen as far as i know there is no way to replace lost enamel but according to the lady in the video the horsetail herb she used is supposed to do that, i would suggest asking at a local herbal health food store to see if this is known to be true or not as for the chlorinated water i'm not sure how that affects teeth health but i know its not good for your physical health and thats why most people drink bottled water although most don't realize some are pretty much the same thing... lol

  • @Witchysis31 oh sorry she said strengthen the enamel not replace it.. typo..lol

  • @bearknudsen as far as i know there is no way to replace enamel and i personally have no clue what chlorinated water does to our teeth... the floride the put in drinking water is supposed to be there to help protect tooth enamel tho.

  • I have a BIG question!!! When I go see my dentist he asks me how many sodas I drink per day. My teeth seem to be rotting out faster then he can fill them. Here's the thing- I don't drink any soda! I don't eat candy! I've been switching my diet over the past couple of years to natural, whole foods and am taking out all rifined sugars (all refined foods). Still- cavities plague me! Against my dentist's wishes I don't use toothpaste. I mostly brush with water, floss, and use a cleaning pic

  • Nice Video. . you can also use lemon essential oil to "activate" the baking soda and its easier on the gums than peroxide. . tastes better too!

  • Where can you get that silica?

  • I actually haven't used toothpaste for at least 3months,however I do wash my teeth with toothbrush and water every morning but it doesn't seem like my teeth needs to be brushed at night. Some time ago I started feeling a little pain in my teeth,I noticed a little black spot there, but now I don't feel anything at all, I think my teeth might be repairing them self because of the good food I eat. However I'm still thinking of making my self a toothpaste or buying a natural one just in case.

  • according to dr. christopher inner bark of oak tree will make teeth grow back. people have actually had fillings pop out!

  • Katrina is easily one of the kindest and most real people I've met. Seems to lend proof to the idea that human evolution is dependent on what we make ourselves out of... clear thinking and good judgment result from a pure diet, among other things. Thanks for posting this!! And you can get most of what you need at Vitamin Cottage or your local health food store. Just ask around.

  • Living in harmony with things. What a terrible thing to do. I wonder if we should blame the natives as well.

  • what's horsetails and where do you get it?

lol actually where do you get any of these materials?

and wow, really? mud? that kind of seems a bit over the top for me tbh.

  • Hi out-there

Is there an English equivalent of horsetail or some kind of substitute. Using Toms at the mo but have just found out that it's non organic.

    Any advice much appreciated.

  • @deadrebel2 Plus, guess what? I just found out my Tom's toothpaste has fluoride in it! I couldn't believe it. Then I went to the supermarket and ALL of them have fluoride in it. Unfortunately for me, I live in Ecuador and the ingredients she has are not available. I can't even find baking soda!

  • @michel7773

Hi Michel, had a look at your profile you might find this interesting, or not!. 20 years ago Sweden banned silver fillings, they're made of 49.5% mercury by weight. When I was 30 I had to stop running as the pain in my leg was excruciating, at the time I was a joiner and also had tennis elbow and could no longer saw. I was due to have an operation for Carpol Tunnel syndrome, said no. Had a year out to rest to see if that would help. Went back to work within a month same problems.

  • @michel7773 Not all Tom's Toothpastes have fluoride. Only if you shop in the big corporate stores like Walfart, CVS, etc. If you shop in local healthfood stores, they carry Tom's WITHOUT fluoride. Interesting how the huge corporate entities want to poison the population.

  • @michel7773 i will send you baking soda if you PM me your address..

  • baking soda + vegetable glycerine + peppermint oil

tried baking soda + coconut oil before

  • I like to mix baking soda and peroxide into a paste.

  • does it made a tooth paste?

  • It's not as thick, or tasty... but it's a paste. It's a great at home whitening tooth paste. If you get sensitive from peroxide products, mix the peroxide with water to dilute it. Use only a few drops per tablespoon. And only make a weeks worth at a time! I love it! Followed with a witch hazel & mint rinse!

  • I love this stuff!!! :) thanks for sharring:)

  • No, Katrina Blair looks very healthy.

  • I am a fan of Go Smile's AM (citrus) & P(lavender) they both have a pleasant flavor and don't have a gritty feeling. I feel like these are less abrasive, but still do a great job keeping your teeth clean and white. <--but that's just my opinion :D

  • Argh, vitamix blender $700 US! wish i was rich and could buy it but cant.

  • You know, my dentist said she can really tell when people are using something like Tom's toothpaste, etc. She was not too keen on the idea....has anyone else heard this?

  • That is a very interesting alternative to conventional toothpastes. I'm beginning to go for natural toothpastes, because they are healthier for the body.

  • I usually use Arm & Hammer toothpaste w/ Baking Soda and Peroxide.

  • or ucan brush your teeth with organic coconut oil...

  • natural toothpaste with anise oil ~yum!

  • I use NEEM t/p, I found (so far) it's the best I've used. If you are new to neem, brush with some neem bark powder, for a few weeks, then use the t/p, it really clears up any existing dental probs, it's even helped my receeding gums..Thanx for the vid, fascinating !

  • I use colgate lol maybe I should start using some mud though lol :P Its hard to find natural things in Melbourne Australia, I was looking for some natural maple syurp 10 A.U dollars for 250mls! it is a good source of minerals, Ive just found that pumpkin seeds are good source of minerals too, pumpkins seeds also knowen as pepitas seeds! Celtic sea salt also contains many minerals!

  • I made my own for a while, then used Neem Toothpaste. Currently using Toothsoap (which also lasts an incredibly long time as I only need 1/3 of a shred at a time. Happy to have a new recipe to use and share with my subscribers. Cheers!

  • That will be better than toxic chemical toothpaste.

I don't use any toothpaste at all, just water. Best thing for teeth is a raw diet with lots of greens.

  • We use ECO DENT Daily Care Original Mint Toothpowder; it's 100% cruelty-free and 100% natural, without fluoride!

Thank you for sharing this, it sounds awesome, if I could only get a hold of that silt..

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome ;)

  • using just aloe vera would also make a good toothpaste.. just cut a piece and take out the gel and brush it on the teeth and gums.. it will heal :)

  • I use Parodontax.

  • Wow, what a find! I have such trouble finding ANY toothpaste w/o fluoride, let alone organic for my family. We don't have any such health concerns in New Jersey, apparently...

Subbed and starred - nice to know you exist!

  • Score! How lucky am i living in Alaska? And ive been looking for an alternative to my Tom's toothpaste as I just learned that glyerine even in these natural, no fluoride brands inhibits enamel formation. Thank you for a great topic!!

  • you two are so adorable and look like you are all lit up inside. I'm a vegan and trying to learn more about raw. Subscribed!

  • How old is that blond women, she looks great!

  • @ashams22: What are you serious, sorry but she looks horrible.

  • Trader Joe's house brand

  • Me too.

  • I use Neem toothpaste by Madina. It is 100% vegetable based and no fluoride! Avg price $3 a tube.

  • I use Jason organic... was using Tom's but it's not organic. Jason has lovely sea minerals in it. However, I want to go as natural as possible so this video is a big help. This woman is such a divine blessing. I love how holistic she is and how appreciative and insync she is with nature. Kevin and Anne Marie, you two never fail with video topics. They are all great as are you two and all your guests. Blessings, healing and green toothpaste!

  • What were all the ingredients????

I caught horsetail...what was the essential oil she used?

  • I tried toothsoap for awhile, but it turned my teeth yellow. Now I use Tom's toothpaste (whitening formula--lol--with fennel, and no flouride), but I would love to try this!! This looks great. I didn't catch what essential oil was used--I assume peppermint??

  • Same here. I love Tom's.

  • omg me too. fennel is my favorite one :-)

  • I use Ultrabrite toothpaste! Only .99 for a large tube at CVS!

Kevin can you do a tour of your Kale Whale, it looks so cool!!!!Thanks

Also, what EXACTLY does "HIGH RAW" mean????

  • This is such a great tutorial and just what i need, thank you.

  • I use Green Beaver Cilantro Mint Toothpaste

I try to avoid fluoride at all costs. As she mentioned, there are ways to strengthen your teeth without fluoride. Silica

  • I use crest cavity

I ditto another post, please pot the indregients and amounts because they were not clear and I am totally interested in making my own toothpaste :)

  • i lvoe you guys

  • Fluoride is very bad for you. It's a bi-product of aluminum.

  • @newgtguy Aluminum is ok in small quantities but not like what is in or water, dont forget that aluminum is in our deoderants as well. Caffiene is probably the second worst thing & most people dont realize it. Society has been bombarded with it, people suffer from caffiene toxicity all of the time & dont even know it. Yes Caffiene is a naturaly occuring substance but so are many harmful things. It is a psychoactive stimulating drug that is produced in plants as a natural insectocide. Yumy !!!!

  • @niamh2739

Aluminum is in antiperspirant, not deodorant. Also, when the damaged portion of the brains of Alzheimer’s victims are looked at under electron microscopes aluminum particles are found at the center. It is believed (not proven) that this is due to a lifetime of inhalation of spray-on antiperspirant as the concentration of aluminum is found in the brain right above the nose.

  • I would be interested to see that info .

And I was refering to mainstream off the shelf deodorants that come already impregnated with antiperspirant...such as...Dove, Degree, Arrid, Sure, Suave etc...they DO have aluminum in them.

A ife time exposure of almost any thing just short of air, to the lungs via inhalation could be a detriment to anyones health.

  • @niamh2739 Your last paragraph does not represent a rational argument. It's the same provebial, all-inclusive, throw in the towel argument used by smokers to justify their bad habit.

They make extreme statements like "Too much brocoli will eventually kill you." or "I've got to die from something."

We both know that the result of life is eventual death. We have no control over that. However, we do have some control over "how" we die and this is the reason for my comments.

  • @newgtguy

Fortunately I am not a smoker & therefore need to make no such excuses to validate a habit that I do not have, furthermore you have yet to post any credible sources for these so called facts of yours & I must tell you that right about now your theory resembles swiss cheese...it has so many holes in it ! Besides why do you wish to attack me about this "so not pertinant or important subject" when clearly there are many others on here that have plenty of stupid stuff to say? Go bug them

  • @niamh2739 You being, or not being a smoker is irrelevant to the point I'm making regarding your extreme statement about "A lifetime exposure to anything." Also, please show me where I've "attacked" you. This is an adult conversation and we have a difference of opinion.

As far as evidence, all medical studies are published on a government site called Pubmed. If you google it, it's the first link.

Search on "alzheimer's aluminum" and you will see a huge volume of evidence.

  • @newgtguy

I will check out your sources but i can tell you right now that the likely hood of your theory being valid is highly unlikely for several reasons.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, continuing research into aluminum and Alzheimer's disease has led to the conclusion that there likely is no connection between aluminum exposure and the disease. The (CDC) states in its Aluminum Toxicity Report that "we do not know for certain that aluminum causes Alzheimer's disease."

  • @newgtguy

I find it odd that you would

claim that my statement " A life time exposure to almost any thing just short of air, to the lungs via inhalation could be a detriment to anyones health." is, how did you put it? "extreme, proverbial & all inclusive" yet your fantastic theory of aluminum causing alzheimer's is unfounded at best & lacking credible evidence.

My statement is true. Please do let me know if there is something that can be inhailed throughout ones lifetime without

  • @niamh2739 oxygen actually slowly kills us from the inside during our lifetime.

as we age we can't cope with the deterioration of organs by oxygen as well.

  • @svartberg123

unfortunately if the organs of the body get no oxygen they die quickly and so does the person. The human body needs oxygen to function.

I do not deny the validity of your statement, it is sad to say that is the way of life. what makes us live and thrive now can eventually kill us.

  • @newgtguy

ones life time that could not potentialy cause health prblems?

  • @newgtguy Is pure flouride also used for rat poisioning?

  • @MmmChicken10 I believe so.

  • Its kinda hard to hear the ingredients can you post the exact ingredients for this... Thx Kevin and Anne Marie for this great idea...

  • horsetail, glacial silt(or charcoal, dirt/fine mud) pretty simple, u can add in essential oil for flavor

  • Ah cool... Thank you.. I just couldnt quite make out what she was saying...

  • Cool... Great video...
