What a wonderful rendition this is. I believe that his delivery here is actually a better take than the recording. There is such a gentle feel to this and his intonation is bang on. Hard to believe the way in which he left us. I guess he was right.
Rolling Stone magazine just put out their list of Top 500 songs of all time and this song was #3. Shoulda been Number 1!! Best song ever made. Timeless lyrics still relevant today and the haunting piano playing still gives me chills.

@1954telecaster2 People now don't even realize that John Lennon and Yoko guest hosted on this show for the entire week. Mike Douglas had the most diverse guests (check out the Sly and the Family Stone week !) I can remember rushing home from school to see this.....

I don't like Yoko Ono either but i have to admit that she has been a great inspiration for him: some of John's most beautiful songs were written co's he was inspired by her. And, luckily she insisted that the man who killed John (i'm not going to write his name) should stay locked up in a prision for the rest of his life.

What a wonderful rendition this is. I believe that his delivery here is actually a better take than the recording. There is such a gentle feel to this and his intonation is bang on. Hard to believe the way in which he left us. I guess he was right.

I do "examine myself daily to make sure I am in Christ" and I can say yes by the grace of God I am saved ! he denied Jesus publicly again and again. That is the "unforgivable sin". "Inventing rock n roll isn't something to brag about considering the sin and debauchery it has brought into the world either. He may have been talented but God gave him that to glorify the Lord, not himself ! John L. is in hell as surely as he was a Beatle, along with George Harrison.

First of all R & R didn't bring sin into the world..it was already here..second you can take anything and I mean anything (religion included) and make a sin out of it..people go over board with religion just like other areas of life each and everyday.All things should be done in moderation.I'm a Christian too but definitely not perfect nor "holier than thou"..if you let it lead you down the wrong path just like anything then it will. Not for anyone to say whether someone is in heaven or hell.

I would start out by reading the book of John and then go to Romans and read it. After that read from Matthew to Revelations. I will praying the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to the wonderful truth of Gods great love for you too. :)

The bible says "A fool says in his heart there is no God" and perishes for it. You can cut Christ all day long but the end results will be the same.
