  • Sorry to all the haters of this version out there but the singer of this song died in 1980 and left his best mates to carry the legacy on. Barney would be the first to admit he can't sing like Ian but if someone is going to sing these amazing songs to new generations then why not the lead fucking singer of NEW ORDER. I personally love this because they sound amazing.

  • sorry but New Order is fuckin awfull they messed up all joy division 's songs !!!!!

  • @coffee2bsmelt sorry , i love new order but when they play joy division's songs they just waste them

  • peter hook is an amazing bassist,, but the moment his mouth opens it just ruins everything

  • @birchy2k11 Yeah - needs the right octive, and that person aint around to do it justice! Nice attempt though - glad to hear how this would sound today if Ian was still with us

  • @leeleec79 "glad to hear how this would sound today if Ian was still with us " re yu sure ?

  • Hooky...shut up!

  • Вечная память Яну Кёртису!

  • COOOOOMMMMMMMEEEEEEEE OOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

  • COME ON!!!1

  • I like Ian voice better on this song. I do know he past away.

  • QQQQ Hermozooooo temaaaaaaaaa resien la escucho y me encanto escucharla verdaderamente qqqq hermozooooo

  • if i would start do drumming, the first thing i do is to learn stephen morris playing style

  • @TheElectricRob Been trying to learn Morris's style for years, lol,a very technical drummer, very hard to replicate, for me personally.

He remains my favourite 'bateria' of all time.

  • Fantastic, god bless Ian, god bless Joy Division, god bless New Order.

  • nice love the version

  • don't forget that in the Joy Division days they were group of friends. Then Ian - their friend - killed himself. I dont know what that must have been like for all concerned.

All I know is I'm pleased that they finally played these songs again. Nuff said.

  • Signori, tutti in piedi....

  • This is Ian`s song.

  • What's Hook screaming at 3:11 ?

  • Why isn't Gillian mentioned in the blurb for this? Great performance, poor description. Perhaps another BANDWAGONER.

  • En el 5:05 Bernard Summer dice: "Segunda vez que tocamos este tema en 25 años... por obvias razones"

  • They really sucks....

    Where are you little IAN?

    I miss you,i love you.

  • @sydilligaf Another fucking Martyr hunter.

  • @TheOldEchoes

i call it " taste in music",it's different.

  • singers should stick to stuff that they can actually sing....... bernard is not capable of singing love will tear us part, even then he might show some understanding of the lyrics, he doesent.

  • @birdandthe jeez...i'm so tired of getting nasty comments to my comments so.... birdandtrhe.....it's live.....no one can take the place of Ian.....i think Bernard et al did a gud job, if you think they din, that's yor opinion....i luv live music n all the mistakes it makes, but pls don diss me i understand wot u r sayin' xx

  • @eisenkiss i read on your page that joy division would be nothing without new order !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ho ho ho must be the stupidest thing ever said on youtube, and next time you contact me use the English language.

  • @birdandthe I agree, a monumentously stupid thing to say - i guess i just got wound up by the comment that New Order playing Atmosphere was a disgrace - and the comment that perhaps Bernard walks on air - uncalled for. To all Joy Division fans, I'm sorry for my comment, Ian Curtis is a legend, and New Order would not be here without him and Joy Division.

  • @birdandthe Barneys "wimpish voice" is one of the secrets of NOs sucess, will you doubt that. by the way: These lads are 3/4 of JD. Although i love JD, i hate it when they´re reduced only on Ian Curtis.

  • pure,pure,pure

    that was new wave....once.

  • like how they sound, but I'm not agree to use the lyrics of Ian Curtis, just for having collaborated with the music of the songs

  • Es wurde langsam mal Zeit, daß New Order ihr Erbe -sprich die Joy Division Songs-angetrene haben. Mehr davon!!!

  • He farged up the lyrics again... Typical Bernard... Oh well... Perfection isn't everything...

  • It says "DEE DEE" in the background! how do they mean!

  • @majerlet they was referring to dee dee ramone of Ramones this concert held on 1994 few weeks after dee dee died

  • Dee Dee Ramone died on the 5th june 2002..this gig was on the 9th june 2002.

  • @majerlet DEE DEE Ramone died around the time of this gig.

See the video fro Ceremony from the same gig which is on here. Peter Hook says:

"This one's for Dee Dee Ramone God rest his soul - he can keep Ian [Curtis] company until I get there".

  • @cph1982 So THAT'S what he said - been trying to decipher what the second bit was for the longest time. Cheers!

  • oh f***ing hell! the best .... i'm breathless

  • Ian never die

  • You can see in their Faces how much they miss Ian!

  • Ians Voice Made This Song!

  • very good but proves how much ian curtis contributed to divisions sound

  • aww.. we miss you Ian...

  • we miss you ian!!!

  • IMAGINE if ian was singin that there IMAGINE how fucking good it would sound :O:O they well and truly would have been the biggest band in the world!

  • love the rickenbacker

  • shit, they where realy psyched up there, its a pity that the voice is so nervous to make mistakes. the crowd appreciated, thats what counts .

  • kommzuuns i agree with you dude.Nobody like JD/NO makes heartfelt music like this anymore.

  • Beter than the original in my opinion :)

    More Powerful!

  • Nothingelse will be like Joy Division.

I'm growing whit this band and I love like himself ! : )

The actual's "Stars" , Madonna , B.Spears , The white black M.Jackson and many more band or solist is nothing to paragone whit the dark new wawe of '70/'80 !

  • to be honest i think this song is somehow more powerfull, simply because it simbolises their old pal down to a tee.....and it always gives me goosebumps seeing bernard sing it

  • why arent they playing it in the right key?

  • ian curtis had a very low voice and i dont think bernard could accomadate the origonal key with his voice

  • @charliedearmound91 ,,just for fun,,,change,,,

  • im nt having a go at sumner for it i was explaining to flyinghalfbannanas why they were playing it a different key

  • :/, vive Peter hook

  • Bernard's screaming really makes me laugh. Doesn't add to the song at all.

  • @ladygwenn clearly not a new order fan then? because thats the way he has been doing that song for the last 30 years!!!!

  • @ladygwenn HA HA what a naive comment..............if you knew this group you would realise he's not trying to fukin ADD to it he just loves givin it his all and this 'screaming' is a result of this

  • Barney stop shouting come on.

  • Hmm, I'm not 100% convinced Hooky's histerical cries of "COME ON!!!" necessarily add to the delicate granduer of the song.

  • Comment removed

  • @SimonWaldramMusic I thought it was Bernard who shouts?

  • Have you noticed in the Finsbury park clips how Barney seems to be reading the autocue every now and then.
