  • No way, the old one is alot nicer looking and performs alot better too!!!!! i have one and it is by no means boring, its more fun thatn the new more weighty one!! ask jeremy clarkson, he agrees with me!!

  • If you want a car that's too heavy, vastly underpowered, overpriced and uglier than any other car in it's segment step up folks! That must be why this civic placed dead last in every comparison test between sport compacts of the same model year. I like how even here the announcer gives glowing praise about features and options that are Japan only. Lol.

  • I take back my statement about the R having more power up top. Only 201Bhp? It's 2010 and it's the "R". That's pretty shitty if you ask me. The GTI puts 200 down to the ground as well as 210 ft lb.. much more than the R, so the GTI will launch and pull harder in the lower rpms. Can't really deny that. You're not making shit for power unless you're in vtec. Stage 1 ecu reflash($500) brings the GTI to roughly 250hp and 285ft lbs of torque depending on which software you run. APR, REVO, GIAC, etc.

  • Drive a CTR champ white edition and then be quiet geeky fan boys and for those who whinge that its not as good as blah blah blah on the track. This car is a ROAD CAR. Whatever you say is better on track i bet its not as good on the public road which 99% of CTRs never go on the track so whats the point in making a car that only 1% of your target market will like?

  • Ive test drove this car at a track and it SUX, seriously. The handling, especially the rear suspension system arent very good. Previous Civic Type R's such as EP3, EK9 and even the EG6 SiR are way better than this when it comes to handling. The gearing performance is above average which is good but thats about it.

    Honda shouldve just called thisthe "new SiR Civic" instead of putting it in a Type-R category

  • Got an EP3 and my mates got an FN2 (he used to have an EP3) and we have raced them both on the track & drag, we have swapped cars and raced them some more and the EP3 is defo quicker than the FN2....

    There's nothing like an Integra Type R.

    The NSX is a supercar which ALL supercars should base their standards from but comparing the Nsx to Civics or Integras is like Apples and Oranges.

  • I'm considering trading in my ST for a Type-R, I hate waiting for my oil temp to warm up, but I'm afraid that I'll miss out on the low down power of the ST even though it'll be compensated by getting to rev the bollucks off the Type-R ?:(

  • fn2 is around 30kg heavier then ep3, fn2 has 201hp@7800rpm ep3 has 200hp@7400rpm, and ep3 does not have an lsd just like the fn2. only the jdm models do. and the fn2 has a lower final drive so performance is about the same.

    both cars are awesome to drive.

  • the ep3 has 147kw and the fn2 has 148kw(only the jdm ep3 had 158kw). and the fn2 makes up for the weight difference with better gearing!

  • @08201185 Definitely not the best hot hatch ever in terms of performance. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the GTI will hold it's own against the R as far as handling goes. Then take a look at the price gap..and a GTI with just a stage 1 reflash(about $500) will walk all over an R. In a straight line and on the nurburgring. Do I also need to mention that the GTI has practically double the torque than a R? R will make more power past 6500rpm sure, but below that? No chance. Sorry.
