Try it yourself. If you install it too close to the inside of the platter it will affect performance on anything. (The merry go round spins fastest on the outside)
The outside speed of the "merry go round" is faster than the inside speed, centrifugal law I think. Thus installing things "too close to the inside" will affect performance speed.

im not fussy with fps i have to put it on dx8 mode with everything on lowest and i get 20fps and i think its 100% playable

I can't play it in my mbp 15 in fullscreen. In the video options when im changing from 4:3 to 16:10 and click in apply it does not change.
