  • I wonder what he is thinking right now about the worst case scenario? GUESS WHAT! It happened. The entire concrete containment system exploded and radiation was in the sea, the air, the crops...

    Thumbs up for Japanese people!

  • cant help but think of anology in intel's cpu strategy with single core, high performance problem couple years back. they solved it by going smaller, less pwer but multiple core design choise. I think same could be applied here with same results - build smaller reactors with smaller "worst case scanario" and do more of them.

  • I use to love nuclear power - lol - but after the massive Fuck-o-shima meltdown I'm not so sure any more...wind power plants are cool! lol

  • Just watched all six parts, very informative, thanks.

  • 01:18 "the water turns to steam, the steam runs a turban"

    a turban? you sure?

think you might mean TURBINE hahaha

  • If nuclear power is so safe then why is it that wheverever there is a nuclear industry there are lies, coverups, reckless & illegal behaviour, preventable accidents and radiation leaks?

So many lies. The Japanese nuclear industry lied about Monju. The British lied about Sellafield. The Americans no doubt have lies of their own, and Russians nuclear operators lie as often as they open their mouths.

Wind down the nuclear industry and get out of this fingertrap. Reduce energyconsumption instead.

  • Who is this lecturing to ? Pre - School !! Try reading " Nuclear afternoon".

  • "Who is this lecturing to ? Pre - School !!"

No this is physics for future presidents. Preschool is a bit advanced for them.

  • @Musiqueboxdancer opps i meant to vote this comment down but accidentally voted it up sorry

  • @Musiqueboxdancer you are a fucking idiot. fuck off hippie.

  • is The China Syndrome a real concern in a worst-case scenario? Im not worried but im not sure how accurate the movie was in that depiction?

  • But river, lakedams and wind dont give you nice big fat nuclear weapons to protect you from USA do they.

  • @alkx4444 This is Nuclear Power through rose colored glasses.

  • I think he harped too much on the RBMK. Even though they were badly built, and of the wrong materials, they weren't badly designed-Only at very low power levels did they have instability, and a slew of systems had to be bypassed to even run it there, for an instance, the RPS was set to account for the the instability, but it was manually disabled, and ALL of the control rods were withdrawn to raise power(Xenon poisoning) which was against all of the regulations. Youtube comments are too short!

  • The Dumb French GENERATE 80% of their Power with NUCLEAR with NO Accidents! The SMART AMERICANS... are still OUT IN THE WOODS! Westinghouse sold the TECHNOLOGY to FRANCE after 3-mile ISLAND! Americans are TIED TO MIDDLE EAST OIL! Who is Held Hostage to the OIL? "WCS" is Exploited by HOLLYWOOD! Reprocessing of SPENT FRUL RODS, can RENEW the PROCESS! Americans ARE JUST PLAIN.... STUPID! Thanks, An American, ROGER459!

  • Right. youtube search "Would you like some nuclear waste with your champagne?" No accidents, um ok, but no leaks? Guess again mon ami.

  • everything everywhere has accidents. the size of the accident is proportionate to the size of good the thing can do for humans. so nuclear power is really good...that's why it's really bad when shit happens.

that's why we need to focus more on making it SAFER instead of focusing on making it GONE. x.x because nuclear power is good stuffs.

  • Hi, Thanks for posting this. Really interesting stuff and he's an excellent lecturer.

  • BUT, this situation cannot continue as it is for much longer. If we were more concerned with our own autonomy, we would not be so enthralled by the useless garbage being marketed to us on a daily basis. We would use less, because we would realize that our dependence on consumer goods plays exactly into the scheme of people who sell us things we don't need. We are giving metaphorical fish to people in africa, but we need to help them an ourselves to learn to fish.

  • I have fasted for more than four days. I know a little of what it is to be hungry, though obviously not as musch as someone who has been hungry for 4 weeks.

Jefferson envisioned a country in which the vast majority of citizens were farmers.

I never said we should abandon civilization. We should make it better. It is not so black and white. Not having strip malls and cars does not entail small pox. I agree that we need to continue monoculture for the time being.

  • You die faster from not sleeping then not eating. You die after 9+ days without sleep.

We need nuclear war we need isolation. We need extreme nationalism socialism. People helping other people no government. Militias Isolation Paradise.

  • come again?

  • You will die from not sleeping faster then not eating. You die if you don't sleep for 10 days straight.

  • Yes, I got that part. I believe you. What was the last bit about?

  • Hahaha oh yeah. Basically humanity is falling apart as a whole. The U.S. needs to stop relying on the rest of the world and start helping eachother close the borders and tell everyone to go screw themselves. Punishment by death for burning the flag. Magnatory military sentence and training. No wars unless defensive.

  • LifeLibertyLove, death for burning a piece of cloth? How little respect for you have human life and liberty. Is your name supposed to be ironic? Explain to me why I'm not allowed to buy a flag with my money and do whatever I want with it? Something your country is supposed to stand for is property rights and freedom of expression. Do you have any idea how destructive your proposals would be? A country like that wouldn't be worth living in. We must be free.

  • An honest man can never be happy in a naked scramble for material gain and comfort, without some goal which he believes to be greater than himself, and for which he is willing to sacrifice his own egoism. Freedom is not free. It cost lives. If you don't think it's worth it then you don't deserve freedom. It is not just a piece of cloth it is a representation of every single soldier who has died and has served his or her country. My name is not ironic, you take for granted your freedom.

  • How about individuals instead of the US. Your language is essentially fascist. You want the nation to be the individual.

This is the difference between Nietzsche and Hitler.

  • Wrong ever hear of switzerland? If what I say is truely facist then switzerland is full of nazis then eh?

  • I have lived for four months in Switzerland and I have no idea of what you are trying to say.

  • I am not trying to say anything I just said it. Do you not understand english?

  • Switzerland's not so big on murdering their citizens for burning symbolic pieces of cloth.

  • It's not a piece of cloth it is every human life who has served this country. It is honor.

  • America's flag has ceased to hold that meaning for me. The last just war we fought was WWII. Before that and after that we have made it our policy to fuck around with things we have no business fucking around with. I agree we need to pull back from the world stage, but I also think we as individuals need to pull back from the USA stage. The best way to assert your freedom as an American is to grow your own food and make your own shit. We need to learn to stand on our own two feet frcrissakes.

  • No you fool. A flag is a piece of cloth, it is not alive. This is just as crazy as the catholics going nuts over their magic cracker with the soul of jesus in it. The flag hasn't got anyone's soul in it.

What matters is what the flag REPRESENTS, which includes the freedom to burn the fucking flag! The flags are the result, not the cause of the liberty.

Don't you see the inherent irony in the symbol for freedom being used as a tool to oppress the freedom of property and expression?

  • You cheapen the honour of those who died by implying that a piece of cloth can be equivalent to their sacrifice.

  • Wrong you cheapen the honour of those who died by desecrating the nation they fought for. Thoughts like yours is the reason why we have rape murder and crime.

  • Haha. Yeah that's brilliant. Destroying pieces of cloth is equivalent to murder and rape. Right. Care to explain the logic behind that? Is it because you think of the flag as magically possessing the souls of dead people? Is it like the catholic Jesus cracker?

  • I can tell you right now your not in the military and never will be. You know why because you are a coward. If everyone thought like you you would not be able to talk right now. You would be in some sort of labor camp or executed for thinking too much. I thank america that not everyone is like you. The nation is the greatest gift to man.

  • I'll take your avoidance of my question as confirmation that you can't give me a rational answer.

The point about protecting freedom and it not being free etc is all worth discussing and within the realm of reasonable debate. I realise that I could easily have been born under an oppressive regime that doesn't respect the individual. Great sacrifices have been made to grant us the freedom you want to destroy in the name of protecting it.

But this stuff about the flag is superstituous nonsense.

  • Theres nothing supersitious about it. We don't live in freedom/anarchy we live in a republic a nation of laws. Freedom does not mean the freedom to do anything you want, freedom is the freedom to work where you want to work and think how you want to think and say what you want to say. It's just like digging up your moms grave and selling it to graverobbers. So maybye you wana bring it down a notch that's cool but there should still be a law protecting it. ALthough I agree with the death penalty.

  • I understand why there should be a law protecting property from destruction, including gravesites. It's not like I'm saying I want to break into your house and steal your property, your flag and burn that. But what is wrong with my BUYING a flag with my own money and then owning that flag and then doing whatever I want with it because I bought it? I'm all for protecting your private property, including all the flags you own, but you can't tell me what to do with MY private property.

  • Wrong the american flag is not your property it is property of the nation. Thats like pregnant woman saying there baby is there property so they can kill it. The nation is a living thing.

  • "the american flag is not your property it is property of the nation" - even if I BUY the flag

"Communists take Property" - from your channel

Listen to yourself. Think about what you're saying.

  • I know exactly what I am saying. I say what I mean and mean what I say. The nation is what protects your freedom of property. Sorry but what your thinking of is not freedom but anarchy.

  • patriotism is what kills people...I class it in together with religion and politics. it's a bit of both even. which makes it even worse.

  • Ah you're one of those people who do not believe in freedom.

  • honestly, if you think you're "free" then you're an idiot. nobody lives in "freedom" other than the last uncontacted tribes in the rainforest. freedom is something you've been brainwashed to believe.

  • How are you defining freedom? As I understand it, freedom is merely the lack of others trying to stop you from doing things, and it's a matter of degrees, not an absolute that you either have totally or not at all. In what way are isolated rainforest tribes more free than we are? They probably aren't free to question their tribal elders or the traditions of their culture in many cases. I'm puzzled about how you could know about the living conditions of people our society has never contacted.

  • oh good point. those people aren't really free either. being completely free would mean that you could live anywhere and hunt of the land without having to pay taxes for the land and taxes for the hunting and being forced to abide to the laws of the land you happen to live in and so on.

and if you're not COMPLETELY free...then you're not free by definition. it's not a scale. it's like being dead, either you are or you're not. in this case. x.x

  • Well, perhaps not as a matter of degrees, but there are different domains of freedom. Such as freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the market from government regulation, etc. I think these qualifications make the word more useful, as opposed to an absolute sense of freedom in all possible domains. I think when people in the west talk about freedom, they are generally referring to things like freedom of speech and religion, rather than some kind of anarchistic form of total freedom.

  • freedom of religion and freedom of speech are myths. especially the latter. it's illegal to say certain things. I'm swedish and we basically allow people to say whatever but if an american were to say he was planning to kill the president or used "fuck" on tv, he'd be fined or jailed. x.x

interesting point actually: did you know some guy threw a pie at the king of sweden a while back? I'd like to see someone try that on the president of america. x.x but that's different than words. funny still.

  • Don't you know how things used to be? In the past, you could have been tortured to death for expressing views that criticise the government or the church. There's a world of difference between the amount of freedom people had in the time of the spanish inquisition, or even in some places today like North Korea, and the modern western societies. No-one is going to torture and kill you for expressing an opinion. People didn't always have that luxury. Do you really not see the distinction?

  • lol, "more free" still isn't "free". in the past people had less advanced technology than we do today. do you think we should call humankind "advanced" today because of that? even though we still act like monkeys most of the time? do you think people in 2000 years would agree that we were very advanced? hardly.

  • I really don't know what your point is. Regardless of what words you want to use to describe it, there is a real actual distinction between what it's like to live now, and what it was like to live in a time where you could be tortured to death for criticising the government. If you're going to insist that words like free or advanced only be used in an absolute sense, then the words become useless since they don't apply to anything in reality. How does this help explain anything?

  • exactly. x.x

  • Exactly what? Are you just trying to be obscure and incomprehensible? What point are you actually making?

  • that saying things like "you don't believe in freedom", "I'm free" and talking about how great a country is because of it is completely and utterly devoid of meaning. x.x which is what I wanted that other guy to see, but you kinda took over from him. suit yourself. :S

  • Sure when it's unqualified in some general sense like "I'm free" is meaningless, but my point is that it's not meaningless to say "I'm able to criticise my government and I won't be tortured and killed for it". This is a real distinction and is probably a lot more noticable for those who would get tortured and killed for such things. If you don't like to use the word freedom to describe this difference, then invent a new word, but the distinction is real.

  • With regard to advancement, I don't think that's an absolute either. Whether you're talking about social or technological advancement, why does it have to be all or nothing? Surely you can see that there is a real noticable difference between a society that approves of slavery and torture, and one that condemns it. Is a society either totally evil and primitive or totally perfect? Or is there a scale with gradual steps along the way? What are you actually trying to describe in reality?

  • and I didn't say "advancement", I said "advanced". there's a difference. one IS absolute, the other isn't.

  • You poor poor confused kid.

  • lol yeah. using sentences like that towards someone who is able to argue his point perfectly well with no problem whatsoever is exactly what makes YOU a "kid". it also makes you insecure and so on, but that's psychology 101...

  • Explain to me if I own a store why can't I put up a sign saying no Niggers. And only allow people of pure aryan race into my store? I mean it's my store my food?

  • Yes actually you should be able to do whatever you want with your store, including alienating your customers and losing money. Going out of business for being a racist is all the punishment that is required for that behaviour. You won't just alienate black people, you'll lose white customers who hate racism. What would you prefer? Racist shop owners not admitting they are racist so you end up giving them your money when if they were allowed to advertise it, you could know and not shop there?

  • Wrong, it is illegal. All it would do is start a riot and get a lot of innocent people hurt.

  • because if you only allowed people of "pure aryan race" in your store then you would have like 0,01% of your previous customers...and they'd all be neo-nazis who would just steal your crap anyway. x.x

  • How about this, if I have a few spools of red, white and blue cloth, which I own, and I burn that, that's okay. But if I take the time to weave the cloth into the shape of an american flag, it's no longer okay to burn this same cloth that I own? How about a half-finished flag? Why can't I do whatever I want with the cloth I own? What gives you the right to tell me what I should do with my property? I'm not doing you any harm or forcing you to do anything. This is fascism.

  • turn it into glass, put it deep underground, surround it with multiple protective layers, and then STOP MAKING MORE OF IT.

Thereafter, read Dostoevsky's "Notes From the Underground", develop a pride for your own personal independence, laugh in the face of god and heaven, become suspicious of authority, plant an orchard, plant a garden, buy some piggies, learn to hunt and PRETEND THIS LAME OVERWROUGHT CIVILIZATION OF IDIOCY NEVER HAPPENED.

  • If it weren't for this civilisation of idiocy, you would probably die of malnutrition before you're 25, with no teeth and diseases like cholera and smallpox. If you dislike modern civilisation, why not stop using technology and medicine?

More than 99.9% of humans who have ever lived never had it nearly as good as we do, and you call it all a waste of time. Many people today live in agrarian societies, working all hours of the day just to feed themselves. How'd you like to swap with one of them?

  • Our civilization has brought many good and bad things. Wouldn't it be better if we were to concentrate our use of technology on things that actually mattered? What if all we did was advance medicine and Information technology? Health and enlightenment are the only advantages I can see. Cars may let us go far away, but they are overused and alienate us from our own living space. We have access to all the plants and animals humans have domesticated, but we choose to practice industrial monoculture

  • There is of course enormous room for improvement, but things used to be far worse. Do a google image search for smallpox and see if you prefer that to being "alienated from our living spaces"

We have a long way to go, but we're going in the right direction. People living in developed countries are happier than people who are dying and starving. You don't know what real suffering is. Neither do I.

I yearn for the day when all our worst problems are as trivial as the things you worry about.

  • we waste oil, the most useful material we have, on making plastic consumer packaging to be tossed in landfills and on shipping of food from thousands of miles away just so we can have tomatoes in January. We could be focussing on the development of permaculture, using our enhanced understanding of the natural world and our common agricultural heritage to enable people to grow the majority of their own food successfully. We could increase our individual freedom and independence, but we don't.

  • We have to start encouraging people to think for themselves. I'm not saying that "civilization" is bad. I'm saying that our civilization is wasteful and idiotic. Our mainstream theory of wellbeing holds that all humans want is to live comfortably and eat well. That's only half of the picture. It's safe to say that of children, but what of adults? Don't adults actually want to have some control over their own existence?

  • You try going without food for a couple of days and then you tell me if wellbeing is only half about eating well. I'd guess it's more like 99%. Have you ever been that hungry? Can you really make that judgement until you have?

How about we make it so that everyone can eat before we start worrying about how us fat western greedy bastards are depressed by skyscrapers and landfills? If you stopped modern farming techniques, billions of people would be without food.

  • we are overly specialized and overly centralized, to the point where each individual is nought but a cog in a giant machine, an ant in a vast colony. We need to be told how to live our lives, because we are too cowed to figure it out for ourselves. In the USA our famous individualism has been commercialized. We need to refocus on achieving maximum independence for ourselves and pride in our own personal power. The Jeffersonian ideal is not an empty concept.

  • If you want individual independence, then why are you trying to make decisions for how everyone else should use their technology? You can't have it both ways.

I dig the Jefforsonian ideal, and that is exactly what has created this modern technological civilisation. People using technology for their pursuit of happiness.

How does the ideal of freedom of the individual translate into the idea that we should all collectively abandon civilisation?

  • I am not making any decision for you, I am arguing against your position. It is quite obviously up to you to decide what to do with your time and energy. I am appealing to your desire to be free. If we spend our lives constantly worrying about how long we will last and how perfectly comfortable we can be be, we may ultimately miss the chance to live before we die. Do you honestly care so much about your own security?

  • I suppose you may care so much, but do you honestly think that no one else can think differently? Do you think I'm morally wrong for wishing a simpler, more robust lifestyle on myself? I fully intend to become an organic farmer when I leave college next May. Do you find me to be a repugnant individual for doing so? What is bad about using the knowledge and the diversity of domestic species that our wasteful, impressive civilization has collected to further material individual independence?

  • What if it were possible to develop sustainable methods of locally-based agriculture that would effectively allow citizens of third world countries to achieve economic independence? wouldn't that solve more problems than encouraging them to join the global economy and take on western consumer culture? The problem is that traditional methods of agriculture with only a few domesticated species are insufficient in many places. Permacultural planning and new species could solve the problem.

  • I think there are some points he's missing. Those who criticize underground storage do not actually oppose it, but a) demand the highest safety standard possible (which is, at least in Germanys project Gorleben, definitely not given), and b) they think "well, we had to put that stuff underground, though we're not too happy about it. Why should we produce more waste that we cannot safely dispose off?" today's storage projects aren't that good. They are just all we have.

  • I think there are some things he'S leaving out:

1.: Those who oppose underground storage do not oppose it as such, their argument is that since this is still not safe enough, and if it's the best bet we have, we might do it,

  • Reducing Radiation waste.Atomic Plant atomic clock. Can be powered and energized by a solar clock but doesn't use sun power but only by laser light which is absorbed in clock's solar panel cells or photo voltaic cells which absorb laser light(not sun)and sends it to it's atomic plant clock or other small devices. The reason to use this. It is not smart to have any electrical wires any were around atomic things not fire safe, compared to laser beam which is safe even if cut from mile away.

  • I think it is amzazing I am watching an actual lecture from Berkley Uuniversity. ALbeit I do not have access to the whole course (or do I?), this lecture really cleared up the muck for me on a couple of points on the subject I was having a difficult time understanding. Thanks for the vid.

  • Glad you liked it. There's a link to all 26 full lectures in the description box on the right (under "about this video"), hosted by the ucberkeley channel. They have a number of other courses available on there too.

  • Ah, I see. Thanks. Do you think that in the future if and when online lectures are a dime a dozen, poverty no longer can be used as an excuse for being uneducated (formaly or not)? It would then be just a matter of going to the library and having headphones. To say, the knowledge is there, and to wit; the will.

  • Indeed, freedom of information may be one of the most important factors in eliminating poverty, by allowing those who otherwise wouldn't have the resources, to expand their intellectual skills and be more productive and work themselves out of poverty. As 3rd world countries become more developed, they can benefit from the existing repository of knowledge waiting to be downloaded and used.

  • What will we do, if, when the knowledge is there for everyone, but not everyone takes it? Can we then condemn the ignorant for their very willingness to be so? Or is it ridiculous to think that even if knowledge is abundant, that an unwillingness to assimilate it is immoral, unproductive, unethical, etc.? Do people have a right to areas of ognorance if they wish to have these?

  • Of course people have the right to be ignorant, and they have the right to not be appealing to employers and have to get menial or unpleasant work because of that choice. Ideas shouldn't be dogmatically forced onto people like in a religion. Freedom of thought and dissent is essential to a free society. The consequences of uneducation are negative enough for education to be it's own reward, with no need for anyone to push it on the unwilling.

  • People have the right to be ignorant of anything as long as that anything is not essential to their survival. To have a right is to have options rather than an absolute. What science attempts to do is to zero in on which one of these options avalible to us is the primary. Freedom is an ad hoc book mark, and while poverty might be a placeholder, it will ultimately dissolve. We may have a right to ignore knowledge, but this very right relies on changing conditions. Rights are not fundamentals

  • I loved my years in chem,

And i wish there was a part 7 or more to this pulpit.

Obvious should have been the Rodney Kings first jury Rather then dont belive your eyes or common sense, Let us tell you what you actualy are seeing and HEARING?

I cannot dispute the wisdom of this Prof, But i think he should take some Soc,Dynamics outside of the NWO, Im more worried about goverment propiganda, then swine flue or even sars, as to nukes, well, touch then and die are those cops on this beat

  • post

  • Anyhow perhaps my point is lost in semantics, if so that wasn't my intent, thanks for your post and for the conversation.

  • You seem to be emphasising the importance of skepticism towards our assumptions and the need to admit how easily we can be mistaken. The thing that I find strange is that you seem to have missed the fact that science is THE self-critical enterprise. Skepticism and doubt are the very heart of the scientific ideal. Science IS questioning presuppositions. I recommend you read about the scientific method to see that what you recommend is already a deeply instrinsic part of science.

  • "people who take such things seriously obviously don't know what they're talking about"

Who are these people who take such things seriously?

FOR INSTANCE - If such a person had a physics degree from MIT how ever could one reconcile such an apparently contradictory person ?

This is a genuine question I'm NOT simply trying to make some point about who is right or wrong..

  • Okay fine, I'll go back into agnostic mode about UFOs and conspiracy theories for the sake of argument.

However what you just did there was an argument from authority which is not allowed in scinece. There are well educated people who claim to know that the world is 6000 years old. The claims are judged on the evidence. Present the evidence and I'll consider it. If you have nothing to present, then I'll just continue studying science with an open mind as I was before you commented.

  • Hmm.. "was an argument from authority" - perhaps if I had not used the qualifier, "This is a genuine question I'm NOT simply trying to make some point about who is right or wrong". Provocative perhaps, but that I have never minded being accused of : )- "There are well educated people who claim to know that the world is 6000 years old" interesting, I wonder why they claim that.. ?

  • As for myself all I present is a challenge to question- a challenge to challenge all presuppositions, a question of how open minded one can be without first confronting or even acknowledging one's own prejudices. After all with no mystery, science would be little more than a redundant tautology, with nothing left to theorize, or experiment, I suppose there would still be method.

  • OH DEAR.

.... This person couldn't be more wrong, on top of that he's ignorant, and clearly politically influenced. Politics has no place in true science, and scientifically speaking he is factually incorrect on so many issues, if your interested at least do some research before you "buy" what he is saying.

  • What for example is he factually wrong about?

  • You have videos of UFOs and anti-gravity on your favourites and you're talking about "factually incorrect". And that laughable conspiracy of science clip about the Earth growing and continental drift being a global science conspiracy, that's just brilliant. What was that you were saying about the physics professor again? Oh yeah, do some research. Do some research on continental drift you moron.

  • Test of assumption is the best way to see if a scientist is truly impartial or simply putting on an air of being so ...

To assume that because somthing is in one's favourits that means they hold it to be truth is a mistake only an experienced moron could make lol.

  • But then calling people names is too childish, having an Having a genuinely open mind interests me far more, your first question was the better response of the two .. but like any good scientist you sought to do your own research, sadly you did not first relinquish your presuppositions, let this be a lesson to you.

  • Checking the claims of everyone who comments on my videos would be a full time job, and a very boring and unrewarding one. Either state something he got wrong or allow those who see this conversation to see that you haven't backed up what you said. Just because I'm rude doesn't mean I'm wrong, it just means I'm bored of respecting people who say nothing but "LOL physics prof is dumb". The comments about the favourites were just a cheap stab, not a science experiment.

  • Well cheap stabs are cheap indeed, your motives are more questionable but that's not for me to do.. that only you can do !

"Just because I'm rude doesn't mean I'm wrong" Nor does it mean you are right by your own logic, also..

"I'm bored of respecting people who say nothing but "LOL physics prof is dumb"."

You will please clearly note that nowhere in what I wrote is the comment "LOL physics prof is dumb".

  • "at least do some research before you "buy" what he is saying." - As a true scientist it is your absolute duty not to believe everything your told as truth, even if you have great respect for the person teaching it. Do some genuinely impartial, unassuming research of your own, ask people who's opinions you don't like, as well as those you do.. test what your told, this at least would be wise. Again I can't do this for you, and even if I could I would not.

  • Scientists also don't spend their time doing investigating and researching every claim they happen to hear. I'm all for listening to some specific criticism or checking the facts you claim he got wrong, but you have failed to elaborate. All you've basically said is that he's factually incorrect on some issues. Tell me which issues and I'll start to take you seriously, but nothing you've said has any content so far so what am I supposed to think?

  • Yeah I jumped to conclusions about you because your favourites include pseudo-science and UFO bullshit. Perhaps you favourite vidoes you disagree with but that seemed unlikely. The point is that people who take such things seriously obviously don't know what they're talking about. If I got the wrong impression from this I apologise. So if you'll tell me whehter you take that UFO footage and the conspiracy of science stuff seriously, I'll have more data to go on.

  • If I told you Indeed you would, have more data to go on.

self evident huh -come on please laugh-

"people who take such things seriously obviously don't know what they're talking about"

"Obviously" the earth is at the center of our solar system.. ?

    - To observe... it's a very intriguing term .. isn't it ?

  • I apologise for jumping to conclusions. I wasn't being scientific. Then again I didn't know that I was supposed to be, I just found the fact that you have UFO footage videos on your favourites funny. Perhaps I was too hasty in thinking that we shouldn't take blurry images of shiny lights seriously in this age of advanced computer graphics and big time scam artists. What I find funny is the apparent imbalance in skepticism towards physics professors and blurry videos.

  • Fair play.. : ) Oh be scientific my friend it's such a wonderful way to learn about everything, just temper this with a strong sense of humor and play too, or the joy of discovery may be lost on you. YES ! - the apparent imbalance in skepticism towards physics professors and blurry videos IS FUNNY INDEED! lol

  • you're not confusing his ability to "dumb down" a subject with ignorance, are you? he IS having a lecture for students here. he's giving them the easy version.

  • Great job men!!, keep up the good work. We got to educate the world. We need in our schools and universities more profesors like these

  • You're welcome. I'm thinking of uploading some stuff about quantum physics next. Muller also answers questions from his students at the star of some of his lectures. I might put up some of the more interesting questions.

  • What kind of jobs are there for poeple that work with neclear reactors???

  • I don't know to be honest. I imagine the skill range goes from something like a janintor to a nuclear physicist.

  • A month ago, I was giving a training class and we finished early. So, to kill a half an hour, I described how uranium bombs worked and how to enrich uranium. I think I told the class that U235 was 1% naturally, though. Never made newspaper headlines. lol

  • All the things he's describing happened during Japans last big earthquaqe in Niigata!!!! during Japans last big earthquaqe in Niigata!!!!!!! Japans last big earthquaqe in Niigata!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh? How many people died in Japan? What ecosystem collapsed? I thought so...

It's funny, the professor essentially hints that groups like Greenpeace, etc. are responsible for the existence of the nuclear waste problem, since they both oppose burying waste, and reprocessing it. Go figure.
