this was the time of greatest exhileration in music - huge changes and still stands up as finest rock. i like your video's very much and see them as artisitic tribute to the greatest semi obsurce songs - everytime i drop in here it is so hard to choose which video to watch they are all songs i miss and want to hear again. thnx MGURUMessiah
That was great and well done, but lighten up folks. The orriginal video is classic Australiana from the late 70's. It is a fantasic clip and the boys were just having fun.
Agree that the original video is classic and a perfect representation of it's time. My version is not meant to take away from it in any way, but rather as an alternate, a little more focused on the actual tragedy of the subject of the song, the sinking of the Titanic.
I just hope my little tribute can be seen for what it was intended, to respectfully re-imagine one of my favorite tunes and see how it plays with more dramatic images behind it?
Nice work -- definitely an improvement on the original video, lol! "Man in the Middle" was also my favorite song after this one from this album. I especially like the use of footage from "A Night to Remember" -- you've really managed to bring the tragic tone inherent in this tune out with the visuals.
Yeah, the original video definitely didn't do the song justice in my opinion, as I mentioned in my description.....far too silly, but hey, that was the time....and of course I'm sure the band didn't want a "downer" video...even though their song, no matter you cut it....was.
I have played with some elements for "Man in the Middle" but it's never gotten past the incipient stages....lyrically very tough. I might have another go at it in the future...I love to see it work. THANKS!
@MetalGuruMessiah Excellent work on the videos bud! you did a great job with this and as the other person mentioned the original indeed blew! LOL. Mind you there were a LOt cheesy videos in the early 80's but in a way that's what made some of them so good.
@MetalGuruMessiah Hey no problem man, I see you have We Are The Dead off Diamond dogs. I'm a HUGE Bowie fan. That whole album was greatly under-appreciated in general. Sweet Thing Candidate Sweet thing Reprise has to be my favorite off that album.
Yeah, Bowie is a favorite of mine as well. Cool that we're in agreement about Diamond Dogs being underrated, I think the tone was too down and the subject matter too bleak for the album to find greater acceptance...and Sweet Thing is an awesome tune!
Unique and well done film flip... and of course very good song
