  • Pretty sick ! I can do chin ups in one arm *3 or +75 Pounds in both *2 reps but 100 pounds thats sick

  • Well done! My record is 6 reps with 90 pounds, I'm going to try to see how many I can do with 135 in the next few days.

I have done one arm chins before, I actually have a video up of me doing one, but I haven't done one from dead hang yet....those are insane.

  • im going to try today.. my bod weight is 235 and my record between my elgs is 100lbs.. ill see if i can better it :)

  • Nuts! I went out today and was doing them with 25% my bodyweight. My goal = one arm!

  • Keep at it, you'll get it.

  • Great Rep

  • wow, I can't even do a pull up with my own body weight. Maybe its because I'm such a fat loser?

  • Keep trying, you'll get it.

  • Very impressive!

  • I train with buckets of water hanging from my feet, as a way of adding resistance. Do you suggest I buy a weighting belt, and if so, where would you suggest I buy it from? Do I need any special shirts or other equipment to go with it?

  • ^ Thats one cool stand, i wish i had one like that. Good chins... How long does it take to achieve say 30 chins? I am at around 10 chins max, only when i feel pumped

  • whats your weight? you could be close to getting a 1 arm chin up.

  • I'm working on that. Able to do controlled negatives with 1 arm, but not a full chin yet.

  • NICE!!! You should post another one now that it's been several months, i'll bet you can do 125 now :D

  • you didn't go from a dead-hang. dead-hang=feet hanging, all your weight supported by arms. d'oh!

    Kiddin, still a good job.

  • how much weight can u do with a wide grip overhand

  • I don't know. I don't do wide grip overhand. Close grip underhand are more effective for the lats, since the biceps are in a stronger position and don't fatigue as quickly, and the lats are worked through a fuller range of motion.

  • interesting il have to try it

    thanks

  • @wil12345678910liam

I don't do wide-overhand grip, as it's a less effective exercise for the lats and more likely to aggravate the shoulder joint.

  • What was your regimen building up to this (frequency of workout and what it consisted of)? Good job.

  • I did one set of weighted chin ups every workout (training 2 to 3 times per week), with a rep range of 5 to 8 and a moderate speed (no cheating or kipping reps - all full range, all under strict control). I would also occassionally do one or two negatives after reaching failure. Started at 35 and worked my way up to reps with 55. After that, every other workout I would do a few 1RM attempts to see how close I was getting to 100.

  • hehe, hard out bro~

  • That is in our garage in our old house.

  • Thats a nice rack. Where did you purchase that from and what brand is it?

  • That's a Hammer Strength Olympic Power Rack. I purchased it used from a local personal training facility, and later sold it to a personal trainer in Tampa when we got all new equipment.

  • @DrewBaye , wow I had no idea I wrote that comment 4 yrs ago!! Thanks for the response btw, even though it took me forever to reply back haha..

  • Hanging the weight from your genitals while pulling up is pretty hardcore. <- humour.
