It's not insulting, I think it's a form of flattery. There are at least 3 interpretations of rosenrot, and most people only do bands they actually like, so the amount of rammstein misheard lyrics can be seen as ameasure of the band's popularity.

It depends on how one interprets the lyrics. The term "mutter" means mother in English. However one could also interpret it as representing the motherland or country. That interpretation would be inconsistent the the view of Germany as the "fatherland" and thus lending another interpretation that one is talking about "mother" within a dysfunctional family. In either case the video misrepresents Rammstein's view as facist which, based on their their larger body of work they are not.
