@rustythestarlight not new, they released it on tape and LP back when it was touring in 1991 then they stopped due to licensing issues when the tour ended. That version was only a highlights album so just the main songs.

Check ebay, and or just download what people have hosted on the internet, it's the closest you'll get.

I have it on tape and mixed it with the UK version which sounds similar and atleast gives it the full score.

IT's a pitty they only ever released a highlights album for the Australian version.

I went to see it when they toured Adelaide, Sth Australia and it was awesome, i have the highlights album which has all the main songs including this one but lacks the feeling of the hole story. The German Version is identical atleast in music, and is full album

it doesn't need to be revived because theres a production in germany thats the number 1 show there and theres going to an australian tour as for the plot its about a steam engine who races against a diesel and an electric basically

only a small correction...it's about a little kid dreaming about trains racing against each other...the steam engine racing against the more powerful diesel and electric...at the beginning of the show (audio only) his mum brings him to bed and then the story unfolds...the best musical in the world in my opinion, great songs, good story and way too underrated

@ropina02 i my opinion...it was only underated in America when it first opened as it only ran for 2 years! But Starlight got its own back with a successful run in Las Vegas. Starlight will always be amazing as the public vote with theatre tickets and as a huge following. The critics are not always right, their voices aren't as strong as they used to be. The content on the web for starlight far outweighs other musicals...critics can't stop that! xx
