  • work on small areas at a time, use small syringes to measure the 2 parts of the epoxy mix, apply, and keep moving, laying it down as you go when you done you can add more if its not smooth, if you do it properly you dont have to sand it, if you do sand it wear a mask with a rubber seal not a paper one. Polystyrene is great to shape as its so soft you can cut off bits with an art knife and then sand it into final shape with fine sand paper - build a small thing first, to learn how to do it.

  • Depends where you are, but polystyrene roofing insulation sheets are about $20 Epoxy $35 Fiberglass $7 a sq meter look through my favorites to see how its done. I use medical gloves to keep my hands clean, you don't need to vacuum bag just use a fast setting epoxy 5-10 min (buy in bulk not tubes) rub on the epoxy add fiberglass mat more epoxy rub it in and you done make sure its smooth - hand does a good job - mix small amounts - mix well or it never sets up count 50 rotations with a stick

  • @EVZebra wow, sounds pretty good, mabey i should look into this lol. if i was rich, i would just get carbon fiber and epoxy and go crazy

  • the cheapest fiberglass mat has 60% of the strength of Carbon Fiber so two layers of Fiberglass is as strong as one layer of Carbon Fiber which is light enough for what we do.

You can use either river sand or beach sand on the leading edges or places that get bashed, its just about the hardest stuff on the planet , its silica compressive stress some thing like 2000 Mpa vs Steel at only around 240 Mpa - rub on epoxy, add sand when its sticky - 1 layer- more epoxy then fiberglass, done

  • @EVZebra cool thanks man, i feel like i took a course on epoxy and fiberglass lol

  • If you make it out of polystyrene board glued together with epoxy resin and then cover it in fiberglass and epoxy resin it will become real i.e strong enough to ride around in.

  • @EVZebra how much would the materials cost approx.?

  • can you sit in it

  • I got an Idea which I might do, get the cardboard color and w/e then put it un a golf cart. (DRIVABLE)!

  • thats is cool

  • That's pretty awesome. You should make 1:1 scale ones.

  • thanks! hah i wish i could. ive been trying for 5 years to make a big car like this and the mazda and i have no idea how to make another one. 1:1 scale would be so epic.

  • Where do you put the gas

  • haha there is no gas is not drivable

  • you should make one drivable imagine how peeps would look I plan on making a gt-500 1967 out of cardbourd and making it authentic in every little detail

  • wow

  • its great

  • No life much?...

  • wow, nice! i bet that took a while
