  • i grew up watching chris reeve. he is an inspiration to millions around the world

  • He seems annoyed that he has to be there - guess his agent couldn't get anything else but this or Touched By An Angel, tough break for a cripple.

  • Rip criss

  • My friend laughed at him...then i told him he was paralyzed....this explains why we should'nt judge before we know

  • and then Ernie bursts into a song singing the super man theme, they should have made a joke stopping at S where Ernie goes I don't think rubber ducky doesn't really like the letter S. and have Christopher Reeve go, really I am particularly fond of it myself. lol.

  • Superman

  • Christopher Reeve also did a great job on The Muppet Show in 1980 during its fourth season :)

  • CR is a true bad ass

  • This video was uploaded a full five years after Christopher Reeve's death.

  • He Was Superman And He Left As A Superman And He Will Be Always The Best Superman Ever RIP Chris

  • lol, Ernie always has to have a rubber duckie around. :P

When was that made ? Seems like Reeve was in a quite bad shape... :(

  • He suffered a major accident from a horse.

  • very very sad...

  • This was really funny! I love that so many actors went on Sesame Street. It is just such a practical way to help the community. Education is so important.

  • TylerCharlesFisher

  • Aww he was so cute with the little tube jamed in his throat. Chris was always a trend setter.

  • I have to say that his appearance on Sesame Street, and his appearance on the Muppet Show are two highly memorable guest appearances by anyone, albeit both for different reasons.

  • He's really cute at this shot, and also sends a very positive message to kids, that people of quadriplegia can still have the humor.

  • supermen forever...Płyniesz teraz po niebie..

  • AWWWW

  • evil horse :-(

  • awwww i miss him

  • Finally, he is still a better actor then most characterless botox-groupies out there

  • He's acually really happy he can't really show it cause of the accident

  • aw :(

  • He seems thrilled to be there

  • he truly was a livig superman.... RIP!

  • :( R.I.P chris (superman)

  • Damn man, maybe it's just me, but that was pretty fucking depressing. RIP Chris

  • He is still the superman

  • awwwww

  • he was quite a guy the man of steel will be sadly missed

  • I think Chris probably enjoyed being there. Check out clips on You Tube of being on The Muppet Show. Looks like he had a great time on that show.

  • @koalasarah >> Considering one of his best friends was Robin Williams (they were roommates in college), I'd imagine he had a great sense of humor. Does look like he had fun on this show.

  • Christopher Reeve! THE MAN!

  • has anyone watched him when he first did the muppets? or fairy tale theatre?

  • At :20 after Ernie told Christopher Reeve that Rubber Duckie knows the alphabet he (Christopher Reeve) made a face like "Who've thought it?"

    (R.I.P Mr. Reeve)

  • i have to do a report on Christopher Reeve

  • This is so cute to watch, God bless that man!

  • My hero

  • Wow, he came really far from having a machine breath for him. Amazing. There will never be another to fill his red boots in my eyes.

  • We miss you, Christopher :<

  • @BruiserKnux

    LOL that's true.

  • Aww, what a great guy. :-)

  • That was kind of sad.

  • rip

  • Ernie and Christopher Reeves were both great in this skit! They both ROCK! R.I.P. CHRISTOPHER REEVES 1952-2004!

  • RIP CHRIS REEVE

  • Who else is angry a rubber duck upstaged Christopher Reeve- SUPERMAN!

The poor guy is sitting there thinking "I was Superman, Man of Steel... now I'm in a wheelchair, in pain, and a Muppet is telling me to say the alphabet..."

I mean, at least some other celebrities got treated right on the show (if you've seen Patrick Stewart on the show on YouTube, you know what I mean, if not... watch it lol)

You respect the Man of Steel, Sesame Street... Reeve desrved better... RIP...

  • Dude, considering tons of famous actors have appeared on Sesame Street I highly doubt Christopher Reeve thought it was menial to be there.

If anything he probably enjoyed it considering it's one of the oldest and most watched kids shows and he has a chance to have a part in encouraging and teaching them.

  • @smzig i agree and besides most actors and celebs end up doing sesame street because they have children who are the age of viewers that watch the show. its something they do for their kids or baby cousins and nieces and nephews or grandkids. its like that today with alot of celebs who want to do a kids show that their babies or younger family members watch.

  • @smzig

I don't think any famous actor worth his salt as a human would consider it menial to be on Sesame Street

  • @smzig Yeah and he was they're before i belive because when he meets bi bird he mentions they met before and he says he looks different since they saw him as superman.

  • @obiwanobiwan13, dude, Christopher Reeve was a paraplegic. He wasn't in pain. He couldn't feel anything. Moron.

  • your the moron, they can feel pain, THEY STILL FEEL!

  • @EllisonLindsay not really

  • My brother is a quadriplegic, Just like Christopher Reeves, So Yeah, i know what im talking about thanks.

  • @EllisonLindsay

Not necessarily. Every case of quadriplegia is different. It depends on the type of spinal cord damage the individual has.

  • @lomlo cuadriplejico... y crees en verdad q no se siente dolor... ???...

  • I feel the same way. I know that the accident was from falling off a horse but, I can't remember whether he was causing the horse to jump and land in a bad way or, if the horse was acting wild which made him fall off.

Also, I know that the only body parts he was able to move was his head a little bit, his mouth, and his pinky finger on his left hand.

  • Wen I was 8 and this happened I was watching this and it really amazed that he did this.

  • I miss you Chris. I miss your way of saving our world.

  • Looks it Superman :D

  • Great actor Chris that plays in wheelchair... I miss you Chris. My wonderful Superman...

  • That was cute. I really miss Christopher Reeve. I hope he and his wife Dana are happy in Heaven.

  • he was awesome, yes. unfortunately, heaven is imaginary. but I guess we can say that they are "ok" now.

  • Funny look on his face-he at least seemed amused

  • what a cool guy....RIP

  • hahaha

  • I miss him...

  • he did want to be there thats why he was there . but it is hard for him to talk and he is in a lot of pain thats why he looks uninterested.. he was the real superman

  • That's right, he doesn't look interested in being in this skit.

I know as they were making the fifth Superman movie called "Superman Returns", the directors and producers were going to have Christopher Reeve star in one scene just to say one line (of course not as Superman but, just a regular person going in the street in his wheelchair), and I think that line was "Oh Superman, please save us from Lex Luthor" but unfortunately, he passed away before they could ask him if he wants to do it.

  • Okay, in case you didn't get the memo, Christopher Reeve was an actor.

What he was doing was called "acting".

He wasn't really shocked to discover the rubber ducky knew his alphabet, because he'd already read that in the script beforehand.

But the humour in the scene calls on him to act incredulous. Thus, as actors do, he was acting.

If he didn't want to do this, then he wouldn't have even gone to their studio in the first place.

It's called "acting" and "humour", for your future reference.

  • Disturbing and depressing at the time. poor guy.

  • was that comment really necessary......

  • RIP chris!!!!!!

  • Yeah..

  • I remember Christopher Reeve best in Somwhere In Time--good movie!

  • All hail Superman!

  • Wait a minute, that duck knows the alphabet?

    LMFAO!!!!!

  • RIP. This is classic. :)

  • Superman in Sesame Street! hah!

  • Whoa! It's Superman! R.I.P. Christopher Reeve.

  • rubber ducky ftw!

  • What is FTW short for?

  • free the whales... no, just kidding, its for the win xD

  • Okay, then.

  • for the win.

  • Yeah... we got that.

  • His A sounded just like his Z.

  • RIP

  • superman!!

  • I love chris! I wish I could find that Johnson and Johnson commercial he did when he said..."I used to be able to fly..." SIGH*...I miss chris.

  • Steve Whitmire is the bomb!!

  • I also love this sketch so much. And BTW, we always think of good old Christopher Reeve.

  • Ernie & Christopher Reeve certainly did a great job of doing the Alphabet together (along with Rubber Duckie), don't you think?

  • it seemed like rubber ducky was getting more attention then chris was

  • omg, i had no idea he died. He died almost 5 years ago now? Wow. Seemed like a good guy. shame

  • THAT was a great man

  • he's super, man

  • RIP

  • Right you are!

  • LOVE SESAME STREET!
