After following these directions, the command prompt tells me that it has been successfully exploited. I get through th whole rooting process but then at the end the bx with were it takes place in just closes by itself. Also at the begning when its downoading all the files it says unable to download rage any advices ?
I thought that the root would have fixed the radio / signal issue but it apparently doesn't. I notice that my Samsung Fascinate rarely has full bars / signal.
thanks for the procedure info.......just had a problem though.
rooted my phone as shown two weeks ago, and it went perfectly. worked well for two weeks. then in the middle of the night my phone decided to update itself. i lost my root, tried to do this procedure again and would not work. help, i guess.
you can also change the time it waits for your device.... right click START_ROOT and click on edit, scroll to call PMSLEEP 60 -its under, adb reboot , change the value to 180 then close window, itll prompt you so save...do that.... then Run the file as shown in video. I changed the value to 180 because they can be slow to reboot and get to the debugging mode to unplug usb and turn off and then on debugging mode, then plugging in usb . 180 worked for me happy rooting
after it finishes turning it back on go straight to debugging mode and unplug usb, click off, and then click on debugging mode, then plug usb back in and it should continue as it should,,, I had the same problem and we finally found a link to this little problem... We think it has something to do with the recent samsung update, Ill try to find the link and post it happy rooting yall

im having problem when after it pushes the files to my phone. the phone turns off but it says "device not found" 5 times then restarting your phone now then device not found again then complete. please help me out.
I tried installed driver on computer and ran START_ROOT. Initially it showed "device not found" but after awhile "successfully exploited" showed up followed by "can not create /system/xbin/su: read-only file system".
I also installed Superuser but error showed about "su" file and asked to restart with recovery and do something with "su". Now I have no clue what to do next. =/
Didnt work the first time and I was very patient. I noticed that when I did the start root that I got more device errors in the status bar on the computer I dont know if it was because I had my fascinate go into sleep after 30 seconds so I turned it off.. I just ran start_root again and It worked. I can use the free wifi tether app now and the super user icon came up automatically after the install.
Hey John, great video btw. My question is after the phone has been rooted, does it still allow you to update along with Verizon Wireless issued updates for the phone or is there a special way you have to now get your phone updates?
I'm running a 64-bit processor but when i download the driver install program its saying its a driver for(x86) i know thats 32bit. Will the driver still work because last time i tried the phone didnt root

@amaar5 Because it's on a different carrier I wouldn't suggest it. You might want to do some research before trying it. Try some forums, I'm sure someone has already asked this question.
@silverdragon0000120 The ability to put in some Rom's once they become available. Most people root because they need the wifi tether. Other than that if you can't really think of what you would do with it rooted maybe you dont need to do it. I personally can't think of anything for myself but I know a lot of people do want a rooted device.
