Check out the Hydro Classifier for Gold. It's the newest way to classify your material and you don't have to run it through a sluice box to get the gold. It's the easiest one yet.
you have you expanded metal cut the wrong way, expanded metal is designed to work as mini riffles that create a lil eddy that gold will drop out of suspension of the water. hope that works for ya
@dredgeingfool He's right, riffles are the wrong way and you don't have enough water flow. Riffles are gonna fill up with dirt and wont be washed away.
not to bad , I've build a few and in the process of a big highbanker right now. I do see a few problems and im sure you figured it out by now but you have flattened expanded metal facing the wrong direction , you need expanded metal or your not gonna catch gold
it's nice, good job, you need to get new expanded metal cut though, they are facing the wrong way. to really catch the gold the pattern needs to be oriented horizontally, giving the gold a wide bow shaped area to catch in, rather than a point/notch.
nice project, let the sluice sit at 15 degrees or so andbolt the box to the sluice. get the raised expanded metal, not the cheap flat stuff. mount a spray bar to the pvc, make a tee and glue it to the pipe, drill 3/16" holes where you want the water to drench the dirt. great start, looking forward to an update!!
Hi there thats super cool, not to be a wanker but the expanded mesh should be turned 90 degrees, and that will create hundreds of small (eddys) I just want you to get all the gold:)

Do you have a problem with the pump getting clogged over time from the mud build up?

less than $50.00. But I had the pump and PVC on hand. Most of the other parts I had been keping an eye open for and got for free.
