Dave, you're KILLIN' me! Execution-wise, probably one of the best on YT. And nailing the tone - I think you get the gold on that one. I've listened to a lot of attempts, and nobody's getting the sound as close as you got it. Taking into account the old style of recording back in the 70's, tape degradation, etc., chances are this is as close as you CAN get, yknow? You just won the guitar Superbowl, my friend.

Awesome Dave!!! Probably the most famous solo rock piece of all time. Love how you worked in the phaser for total Ed authenticity. I remember exactly where I was the first time I heard Eruption. I was 13 years old and bought VH1 after hearing Running with the Devil. When Eruption came on I literally could not understand how anyone could play that fast, especially the tremolo picking part. It was surreal.

For me, the part that was always a challenge was the fast picked part with the open string pull-offs right before the finger tapping section. I'm still not sure I'm doing it right!

@tompelin66 ... I have always been a "plug right into an amp" player, and never owned a processor like that or amp modeler, so I can't really compare it to other units. I'm kind of tone snob, and very picky, so I'm probably a harsh assessor. So far, I'm okay with it. What I like is that you can have two different amps mixed with two different signal paths (it's cool if for example you want to mix clean and high gain sounds). It's pretty versatile.

@dannykaz777 ..Thanks! And I agree with your assessment of Tattoo. I think it's a missing a big =VAN HALEN= chorus with Michael Anthony's back up vocals. I'm hoping the label forced them to use it as the first single... and am optimistic there will be better songs. Perhaps they think singing about a girl with a tattoo will make them sound relevant and modern. Personally, I'd rather hear them sing about a blue eyed murder in a size 5 dress ;)
