YouTube's flash conversion can mess up the quality, and there are videos that show how to prepare the video, that is the right settings and codecs to use to get as good a result as possible by Indie Mogul for Mac users and SMPfilms did one for PC users. This video came out looking blocky on YouTube, but the original file doesn't.
It's not so good in low light, and I edited this in pinnacle, but i think Premiere Elements should work fine. It just uses a basic mpeg-4 codec that is well supported. I think the Sanyo Xacti CG65 is around $250 on eBay and should give you better low light performance, 5X optical zoom, or if you are in the US, Walmart has the Action-HD for around $200 which does 1080 high definition, and has 3X optical zoom. It's worth the extra cash just to have optical zoom, IMHO.
No, but Aiptec makes a couple of cameras in the $200 range that do. One, the GO-HD, has 3X optical zoom, autofocus and they record in 720P. The SVP HDDV-8600 that I used for this is standard definition (640X480).
The SVP works, okay, but I miss optical zoom and autofocus as opposed to the "focus free" (fixed focus)SVP, so I often use my Cannon Elph for short clips. The disadvantage to the Canon is the m-jpeg movie format is too megabyte hungry for more than a short clip. For those reasons, I would consider the Sanyo CG65 or H2 if I were going to buy a new one. It looks like the SVP, same movie format, much better optics.
you tube messes ut på qualety right?? so is it much better than this?
