Grand Wailea Resort Tour of Amazing Pools and Grounds

our flight got bumped and we had to stay at the Grand Wailea for one night..rental car turned in..stuck at the resort until flight time with the kids..had no choice but to feed the kids at the resort. Breakfast for 5..and this is simply the breakfast buffett..nothing fabulous..just fruit..breads..an omlet bar and juice bar..for 5 of us..Breakfast came out to $215.00

I just went in July and it is amazing! The restaurants are delicious, the culture is enriching, and the rooms are very comfortable. Dont even get me started on the water park! Once you start, you cant stop! The rapids, the lava slide, the water elevator, the tarzan swings, and even the hot tubs! I highly recommend this as a holiday location!

@Lucypie9292 it costs $300/nightly the rooms are not nice, the water park is okay i guess, but its not worth it, i stayed there once, go to the four seasons, its much nicer

@MJWORLDFANCLUB you would have to get two rooms which is a lot there. They only allow 4 people to a room and if you have more and try to get a wristband for the pools, they wont let you. My family only gets the wristbands cause my moms friend works there. and we have a family of 5 so we constantly get harped for only having one room

ya you do half 2 stay at da hotel its all private we stayed there for 1 and a half wks and loved it. snorkeling and the water elevator was awesome but slow we went on one of the hawaiian canoes forgot wat it was called and went driving on da coast and saw whales all while tiger was there i also saw some good beaches although the one there was nice. humu humu was the best place to eat with the lobsters and the pools were awesome. wolfgang pucks restraunt was good too.

they took down the tarzan rope swing....i was there when it happened.....some stupid kid in line in front of me thougt it would be a great idea to try and swing in a big circle and he let go too late and smashed his face into the pool edge and then a few months later my school friend was at the wailea and he said it was gone

The Tarzan Rope is there. My hubby and I went for our Honeymoon in May and everyone was having a grand old time. Myself included. LOL.

sorry about that....we go every summer and last year i saw someone let go of the rope too late while trying to swing in a big circle and hit his face on the edge of the pool.....a few months later my school friend went and said the swing was taken down so i assumed it was because of what i saw last summer but i found out it wasn't because it was up and running this year.....SORRY! :-)

FYI: Don't know if you went already or are going this yr but they closed a lot of the restaurants when we were there in May and half of the wing were shut down as well..

Who knows, they may be open now. =)

o ya all of them were open......we always stay in the napua tower and i noticed that they had less food at the happy hour....still good but less.....probably cause of the economy.....but the blueberry muffins at breakfast (for napua) are the best things i have ever tasted! but all the restaurants were open we went in july

it was in august. pools were warm, weather was fantastic.  the pools were a little crowded, but nothing awful the adult pool was almost deserted which was great for us !

I lived in Hawaii for my first ten years of my life than I moved two years ago to WA and I got so used to the cold weather that when i went to the grand wailea this summer it was nothing like i remembered(the temperatures)it was much colder!!!

it was in the 90's... it rained for like ten minutes the first day and then it was sunny for the rest of the time... it got pretty crowded though because of thanksgiving.
