  • really nice

  • I tried your way this morning, but for some reason the rope kept sliding and wouldn't lock?

  • so is this really the way Navy Seals utilize the rope?

  • Eh this got on an Art of Manliness article!

  • 2 people fell trying to climb the rope

  • what size rope is that?

  • Awesome video! Been thinking about this for awhile, but didn't realize there were actually techniques. ha. BTW, this kinda looks like it might have been filmed next to 303 by the power plant. Hmmm...

  • brother, effin awesome. my daughter n i r gonna try it. keep making awesome videos. just subscribe to ur channel. looking forward in watchung them.

  • marines dont take breaks climbing ropes we give the grunts that technicue so they can stop for a second and catch thier breath its not meant to be taken literally but if u dont have the strength to climb a rope the third tech is prob the most effective

  • One thing to take in consideration is the weight of the rope doing your style I like if short rope but, long weight management is maybe better the marine way. I don't know just saying. Would like to see though.

  • awsum man love you ... now i can do it Insha Allah

  • that rope is so expensive

  • i have gym in my coming sophomore year and if i have to due this im ready.

  • thanks:D

I have to climb ropes for the sport I do, but i just can't get up with the normal pinch method, next time I have to do it, i'll try this:D

    i hope it works:p

  • where the hell was this when i was in gym?

oh right the internet wasnt invented yet..god I feel old!

  • wow all this time ive been climbing either no feet or gym class style, this is really cool, great video!

  • I've seen a technique from the movie sidekicks that was something similar. awesome vid though.

  • usefull video - thanks for posting

  • thanks for great tip

  • Legit!

  • Whenever you showed the marine technique, the first time you tried to wrap it around you leg and went the wrong way. You can use the foot that doesn't have the rope around it and stand on your foot with the rope as a brake. You don't have to worry about re wrapping or missing your foot with the rope that way

  • Yeah. It helps if you are familiar with the technique and do it properly. It is much more stable than the technique preferred in the video--I am more comfortable firing from the rope using the Marine technique--and faster if you get the technique down (since the rope slides round your leg and you never have to go find it with your feet). He admitted to not being familiar with the Marine technique, and I think his choice is fine ... If he's not 50 feet up and weighed down by 90 pounds of gear.

  • ITStactical......I love you :D

  • Very nice. Thanks for the video

  • heck yeah! thanks for the demonstration

  • very good to know:)

  • yea i prefer the Marines way, once you get used to it its just as fast to me.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS VIDEO.

  • excellent video

  • IM GONNA GO DO THIS...NOW

  • Love the video!

I am going way to a three month summer camp up in the mountains and i really need boots. would you mind telling me the kind you wear like the brand and division or something like that please.

  • @Codayyy9090 The boots in this video are Magnum Spider 8.1 Desert Boots we're currently evaluating for a review.

  • @ITStactical Thank You! are they your normal boots?

  • @Codayyy9090

Best boots in the biz are Danner S2V 170ish

    Blackhawk"s 120ish

    Infantry

  • I think that last technique is the way I was taught to do it in high school. Good video!

  • sorry for putting something not related to this but nice climbing technique. Whenever I had to climb before, I would end up putting all of my weight with my arms because I didn't have a good grip with my feet.

  • can not see me self doing that some time soon but if I will be clibing rope I will remember this vid. thanks for sharing

  • I was taught this in Junior High because I had friends that were sons of Military men that were taught by their fathers. In high school I did this during a test they gave us in PE (this was a while ago and they used to test at the beginning of the year and then the end to see if we had gotten better) at any rate I did it this way and I totally pissed off the PE teacher as he thought I had cheated the test . but I got up the rope and that was all that matters

  • nice work bud

  • Bad ass dude. Thanks for the video Bryan. Learned something new.

  • @justlikeneo You're welcome brother! Hope all is well!

  • bro, how many tours did you do?

  • cool vid- we did that for IDF Airborne training..(92-95)

  • what kind of pants are you wearing

  • @lilmoneeboy Crye Precision Field Pants ~ Bryan

  • number 3 is the one I used in the Army. we used to climb ropes after company runs. fatties can even get up a rope using that with minimal effort. all you need is closed toe shoes and to be able to hold your own weight on the rope while your feet are reclenching. The legs do all the work.

  • Never could get the hang of those techniques. Just had to muscle through with upper body.

  • NAVY is for faggots

  • @puppetmaster6666 What? Please explain how people throwing their lives away for our comfort makes them a faggot.

  • @NinjaAssassin336 well first off, NAVY men sleep with eatch other and the navy has the highest rate of faggots

  • @puppetmaster6666 don't worry..... be happy, SEALS are tier1 so if they are homosexuals... they are americans first. Be more open minded brother. FOR WE ARE FREE MEN!

  • @puppetmaster6666 just because the navy has the highest rate doesn't mean that the majority of them are homosexuals. Many are just straight men serving our country. Even the homosexuals serve their job well and really that is all that matters. Also, why hate them? (I'm assuming you do) As long as they don't attempt to stick anything in your anus, they don't really affect you at all, do they?

  • @puppetmaster6666 Were you in the Navy? You seem to know an awful lot about them. There is no statistical proof that the Navy has more homosexuals than any other branch. I was in the Marines and spent 6 months on a Navy ship and not one person slept with another. That's not to say there aren't any homosexuals but the ratio is about the same amongst all branches. We had an NCO in the Marines who was openly gay back in 1987. They thought he was making it up just to get out though.

  • @puppetmaster6666 I saw that you can do 250 BPM's, which is VERY impressive, and I get you point with sleeping together, but not the faggot part.

  • @puppetmaster6666 I looked at some of your videos and realized you were mentally challenged. It now makes sense why you think the way you do. People please ignore puppetmaster6666's idiotic comments. He can't help it. He has an abnormal prefrontal cortex.

  • @1108chuck i peeked at his channel too. it was rather humorous...

  • howdy from tucson

    thanks a lot for this....

  • Wait. Isnt rope climbing in unregistered areas illegal in most states?

  • This reminds me of Crossfit. I'm glad I was able to see the pinch technique.

  • Thanks for sharing these techniques. Rope climbing is tough and I wish there was someway for people to have access to facilities that allow this exercise instead of the typical gym. Keep up the good work, always great to see what you guys at ITS have to show!

  • your a smart cookie , keep up the good work

  • Interesting techniques. This technique becomes useless, when someone is following you on the rope. Got any good ones that can be done when there is someone behind you on the same rope?

  • @lucserre If they are below you, you are in the position to kick them down. There's not much they can do to defend against it. Also, if you have a good knife you could cut the rope below you if needed.

  • @1108chuck I meant a friend, not a foe.

  • I'm a Marine and I used the technique that is shown at 1:38 and it works very well. You get a good lock/brake that can keep you there even with hands free and you have excellent mobility for climbing without having to reset the rope at each increment. Not sure why you corrected and wrapped the rope the other direction. That looked very awkward.

  • Great video, new t-shirt looks pretty cool too !

  • Awesome! I can't wait to try it myself, finding a location to do it is going to be a challenge in itself however!

  • Can I do this in h.s. gym class?

  • @fappometer14 if you can sneak onto the gym ropes...

  • Excellent video!

  • Awesome video!

  • Great info thanks!

  • great technique makes rope climbing a lot easier, thanks

  • o shit you were a seal? respect!

  • That is a really sweet rope climb. Thanks for the great vid, I would have never thought of that otherwise. I like the fact that it allows you a chance to stop and rest.

  • That's how a man does it! lol

  • Really cool ! Btw , thanks for the extra goodies with my patch pre- order !

  • @chopper4928 You're welcome! Thanks for your support! ~ Bryan

  • What was your class?

  • @USpatriot741776 I was in class 251 and 254 ~ Bryan

  • @ITStactical Did you make it through buds? and if so how many years were you in the teams for. great video.

  • @ITStactical cool man, I'm to be assigned to a class in the 280's unsure of the exact one yet though. Wish me luck!

  • Great technique. Thanks for the video.

  • Nice,,,, that would be handy now if I can get someone to lift me while I'm climbing it would be perfect. lol seriously that looks like a good technique
