Masutatsu Oyama - Kyokushinkaikan Karate

I've heard he fought 100+ times with top fighters of other martial arts, but why I could not find any videos or pictures that he fought other martial artists except karate fighters? No one ever thought about that? That's weird!

@jimmychuang I aks the same question about Bruce Lee all the time. People belive he fought. At least there are pictures of Oyama fighting.

@harrellbugg Both martial artists didn't fight in any pro league. But I respect both very much. Bruce Lee had more chances to work out with top martial artists at his time, and those people back him up. Oyama had videos he fighting with students and cows.

kyokushinkai was split into two different styles, shinkyokushin and kyokushinkai... different organisations, same thing.

He fought 51 or something bulls in his life. Some bulls he killed instantly. He broke the horns of em with his bare hands. Once oyama was badly injured and had to spend 6 months at hospital.

he never join GOJU..he is never yamaguchi goegn student..he was Funakoshi student..(shotokan)he sparring with all styles except of the shotokan..because he was from shotokan(before the name shotokan was used)he beat all styles .wado,goju.,shito,in Tokyo..but didnt tried anything from Okinawa like uechi..cos he actually respect okinawa style .but anger at tokyo style..

in okinawa every style knows sanchin(all the styles/ryu have it excluding shotokan)thats why there's the sanchin stance even shotokan doesnt have sanchinkatas.but uses the stances in other shoto katas.(due to its okinawan origin)those picture u have probably after they had settle their differences normal in Tokyo.judo founder jigoro kano also learned karate from Funakoshi just to show respect so after injuring yamaguchi's kneecap in fights,he probably learned thing or2 from yamaguchi to giveface

Masutatsu Oyama had actually studied Karate under both Gichin Funakoshi and So Nei Chu (from Goju). Kyokushin took conditioning from Goju, kata from Shotokan and techniques from both.

Also, Shotokan has Sochin but it's slightly different from the Okinawan kata.
