  • i got a problem about this game... the realm of the birdling about the chieft bow? how can i find it... on the legion egg of the stone? if you answer me that will be helpful

  • @jgreynes123 : I don't really understand your question :/

  • @MedionSF no need too i found it that klein and freiya was looking for

  • mó copia d shining force exa

  • has the real game came out and when and where can i buy it? :)

  • @parevek Umm... this game is years old. I played it since I was like 10 (5 years ago). It's pretty old so, good luck finding it in a store.

  • @Lavycieal do u have one for sale cuz i looked and culdnt find it this game is sikkk

  • I can't get passed the memory card loading screen as soon as the game starts up in pcsx2 >_<, can't detect the emulated memory cards, anybody know how to fix it?

  • @Mephistin Maybe your version you downloaded was faulty. Try redownloading a different ISO or redownloading PCSX2.

  • the guy with red hair in the beginning sounds vaguely like fred from scooby doo

  • and thats not 3 events buddy, thats the ENTIRE PLOT of the game without going into detail. Your right, the games have nothing in common except their ENTIRE FREAKING PLOT

  • @baval5 : man, the game is made of A LOT of events, what are you talking about ? Where's the circus and the dolls ? Where are the Sirens ? etc etc etc

    It's part of the story.

So, you have a reimagining with some main storylines there (even though a bit different), ok, if you want, but it's still really different from the original game, not linked to ANY other Shining Force, and absolutely NOT the same game like you said. And I belive you were wrong.

  • just freaking stop. your making my brain hurt with the fact that you cant get a simple concept through your head.

  • @baval5 : man, if I go back to your first comments, you say "The story IS linked but severly slaughtered. Its still revolves around the same concept and characters just....ugh ".

A reimagining (and quite far from the original) is linked with the entire serie now ?...

And you said as well "you have the same game". A reimagining (and REALLY different) is the same game ?

There's no way I can agree with you, sorry.

  • @MedionSF yea buddy. when its a reimagining of the first game, that means guess what? it IS linked to the first game. And btw buddy your the only one whos said its the exact same game

  • @baval5 : "That said, replace breaking stones with stealing swords, Vandolf with Darksol, finding the power of a "shining force" with finding the power of a "Chaos Breaker", and the moon with Runefaust, and you have the same game"

So if you replace this, you have the same game, even without thje same places, many events and different characters. Who said it ?...

  • @baval5 : And ok, it's linked to the first Shining Force in a way, but not by the world, it's not part of the Shining Force mythology. That's the kind of links I was talking about. A reimagning is not really linked, it's "based on".

And this one is a really free one.

  • so which game was i talking about? sure as hell wasnt Final Fantasy. or maybe that sounds like the plot to Star Ocean to you? Kings Quest? Oh i know, Fire Emblem right?

  • @baval5 : man, you are just loosely describing events. If ou take each event you're describing, each of them is REALLY different in how they are made, who they are including (characters), the world they are set into...

Killing the hero's father and the master is the same... lol. No way.

And Anyway, you have more than 100 events in SF, you just find 3 in common and you say it's the same game ?... Can't believe it man.

It's just a free adaptation, not linked to any real Shining Force.

  • @MedionSF no shit sherlock. thats the difference between a reimagining and a remake.

  • Luckily however its revealed to Max that there is a great power that can defeat Dark Dragon, so he seeks it out. After a tough trial, he attains that power and sets off to the main bads lair to stop the summoning. Unfortunately hes too late, and after a tough battle the big bad escapes to the place Dark Dragon is sealed and begins summoning him. Before the summoning is complete Max manages to reseal Dark Dragon and save the world, though at the cost of a human life.

  • After trekking through half the game, always one step behind, our heroes catch up with Kain. The actual big bad takes advantage of Kain and Max being in the same place to destroy the last of the seals, and its also revealed that Kain is not actually evil, but rather being controlled through his mask by the real evil, whos plan is to resurect the Dark Dragon.

  • the game opens on the hero being taught by his mentor. A small series of events happens and suddenly, the antagonist Kain appears. Kain kills the father of a main character and breaks one of the seals on an ancient evil that was kept in Max's town. The heros set off to stop Kain and get revenge

  • Although it is part of the Shining franchise, it is not a turn-based strategy game as the other games of the Shining Force sub-series were. Instead, it uses real time action, similar in nature to the popular game Diablo or Record of Lodoss War for the Dreamcast (the latter also by Neverland). Like other games in the series, it features anthropomorphic characters and a battle between forces of Light and Darkness. The story is loosely adapted from the original Shining Force. wikipedia

  • @baval5 guess thousands of wikipedia users are all not true Shining Force fans and dont count as "thinking the same way i do" huh

  • @baval5 : man, you said "you have the same game". The fact you have a force of light against a force a darkness shows what ?

    It's the same game ? I don't see how.

It's linked to other Shining Force ? I don't see how.

I don't see your point man, this can be found in many many RPG.

It's not linked to any Shining Force game, and it's a totally different game than the first Shining Force.

    And Wikipedia doesn't say otherwise.

  • @MedionSF i just linked the paragraph from wikipedia that does, in fact, say otherwise. you didnt even bother to check. your just an ignorant moron and im done arguing with an idiot who thinks that his word is law and never mind the facts. believe whatever you want, but know that the rest of the thinking shining force fanbase knows your wrong because they did a little research into the matter.

  • @baval5 : Man, you said it's the same game, didn't you ?

Now tell me, can you tell me which events are the same ? Can you tell me which places you visit in both games ? Can you tell me where in the moon in the original ?

And you still think it's the same story ? Ok...

Btw, I've read what Wikipedia said, they say you have same concepts, nothing more.

  • @MedionSF and guess what buddy. the same concepts...the moon/the gate of darkness or the stealing of the swords/breaking of stones, you know all those comparisons i ALREADY MADE ON YOUR CHANNEL YOU IGNORANT DIPSHIT...are what makes a game a REIMAGINING and not a BLATENT COPY. you know LIKE I SAID ABOUT 700 TIMES. good day sir

  • @baval5 oh and btw, it says on wikipedia and i quote, as i ALREADY DID here but apparently you have trouble reading things which are only written down one time, "The story is loosely adapted from the original Shining Force." That LITERALLY says that its a reimagining of SF1

  • @baval5 : man, with same concepts you make a same story ? A story is also made of events, why can't you just reply to my question ?

Battkle between light/darkness, good/bad is something you can see in almost ANY RPG.

    Crazy...

  • @MedionSF ok moron lets play a game. ill describe one of the stories and you tell me which one im describing

  • I heard a rumor that the voice acting was done by children....

  • looking for how the gameplay actually works...... 5:00 waiting...... 6:00 waiting..... 7:00 finally! wow the gameplay looks good, makes me wanna go buy it

  • How come these guys hav the same names as the original 2 Heros in shining force 1 Cain and Max.

  • It's just fan service, the story is not linked at all.

    But well spotted ;)

  • @MedionSF The story IS linked but severly slaughtered. Its still revolves around the same concept and characters just....ugh

  • @baval5 : no, the story is not linked. It's not Camelot anymore, and the world is a totally different one.

    Fan service, nothing more.

  • @MedionSF um....Shining Force was never...ever....set in camelot.....what the hell are you talking about? And the basic plotline is still very much intact. You are Max, a swordsman who has to set out and find a mythical force to stop Kain from escaping with his crimes against your people. Halfway through you find that Kain is not evil and is being controlled by the real evil, who want to unleash Dark Dragon .back onto the world. Other than the details its a re imagining of Shining Force

  • @baval5 : Camelot (aka Sonic, Team Sonic or Sonic Software Planning) is the developer, not the world.

Here you have names in common for fanservice, but that's all !

Shining force 1 was directly linked to Shining force gaiden 1 2 3 and shining force 2. Even Shining Wisdom was in the same world.

Then you had Shining the Holy Ark directly linked with Shining Force 3 scenario 1 2 3.

Then Camelot decided to part with SEGA, and new games are not linked.

    That's all.

  • @MedionSF no thats not all. Just because a different developer worked on it doesnt mean it has nothing to do with the classics. Anyone with eyes can see that Shining Force Neo is a reimagining of Shining Force 1

  • @baval5 : man, you're totally wrong. Just because they took some old names for fanservice doesn't mean the game is linked. Other World, other story, different gameplay, it has nothing to do with the original Shining Force.

Very few people think like you, and no fan of Shining Force (I've been a big big fan since 1993), but ok, think what you want, you harm no one :)

  • @MedionSF well considering IM a fan of Shining Force for as long as youve been, and alot of my freinds think the same as me, i guess youre wrong on both those accounts. The underlying story is exactly the same only the details added to it are different. Gameplay has little to nothing to do with story so i dont know why you even bother bringing that up. And yea it is a different world because Camelot trademarked the Kingdom which is why Guardiana was changed to a different name in SF2.

  • @baval5 : Man, SF2 is set in a different kingdom, obviously it's not the same name. Did you play Shining Force: Final Conflict?

Even at the end of Shining Force 1 you know Adam and Max went far away from Guardiana.

Anyway, Shining Force Neo does contain fanservice (name, references), but i's not linked to any main Shining Force games, and that's 100% sure.

  • @MedionSF No, Shining Force 2 at the very begining is in fact set in Guardiana

  • @MedionSF to clarify, the name Granseal which is the name of the city at the very begining is a bastardization of Grand Seal, the name of the tower that housed the seal of light in Shining Force 1. The town is meant to be built just south of that tower, which is the tower you enter and release the Gizmo from

  • @baval5 : I don't think so. And Shining Force CD, released one year after SF2 includes the name Guardiana, so... I don't think it's a problem of name or trademark.

  • @MedionSF then look it up. im not just making it up its all facts. dont just say "nope i dont believe it so it must not be true"

  • @baval5 : Which facts ? I can't see facts except some names, all along. I tell you, for me Shining Force Neo is not linked to any Shining Force just because they kept some name. That's all.

Believe what you want, I'll do the same ;-)

  • @MedionSF im talking about facts like the Granseal connection or the copyright restrictions on Runefaust and Guardiana. That said, replace breaking stones with stealing swords, Vandolf with Darksol, finding the power of a "shining force" with finding the power of a "Chaos Breaker", and the moon with Runefaust, and you have the same game. Its not that some ideas were kept the same, but that some were made different. Believe whatever you want.

  • @baval5 : man, they could use the name after SF2, so I don't believe it.

And then, it's not because you have some things in common (which you can find in a LOT of rpg) that you "have the same game". You don't go to the same places, you don't have the same characters, you don't have the same events, so everything is totally different except few lines (very common) in the story...

    So, believe what you want

  • @MedionSF right you dont believe it so it must not be true. not going to do any research or anything cause after all your the ultimate shining force fan who doesnt even know basic things like Grand Seal from the first game. And what part of a REIMAGINING dont you understand,. Its the SAME STORY with DIFFERENT CHARACTERS AND PLACES. i cant believe i even have to explain this stuff. Almost nothing is TOTALLY different, just about everything in the game is a reference or nod. But youre the expert

  • @baval5 : lol ? It's the same story ? You have same concepts ok (which can be found in 10000 rpg), but the story is different.

    -The events are

    -The places are

    The characters are

And you still say "you have the same game". Absurd.

So, believe what you want, no true fan of Shining Force consider this one as a real one, sorry.

  • i'm enjoying playing this game, but the voice of max could be better

  • All the voices suck

  • agreed it is horrendous, like the gameplay tho

  • this game is terrible DX

  • mmmhh.....

  • is this really a shining tears game?? O.o it looks freakin amazing. Where did you find this game? i want it!

  • It's not a Shining Tears Game, it's the new Shining Force serie, previously made from tactical-RPG.

The other branch of the serie is Shining Tears/Shining Wind, hack'n slash as well, but in 2D and multiplayer.

  • Holy crap - these devs never learn that the voice acting needs to be good if they add it... This stuff is terrible. It ruins the game when its bad. They should just cut it out and go with text if they are going to publish this rubbish.

  • You are right, the voices sucks.

  • wow that's some really bad dialog and voice acting xD

  • the title of this game is very misleading. no game should be allowed to be be called "shining force" unless it uses the same turn-based strategy combat engine that revolutionized the genre 15 years ago. they keep pumping out these lackluster action-rpg/dungeon crawler shining games but refuse to make a new game like shining force 1, 2 & 3 which is beyond baffling. I'm pissed and want my money back! this game sucks

  • It's not so bad, I think it's quite a good hack'n slash.

But it shouldn't have been called Shining Force, the tacticals far better.

    Camelot please come backkkkkk

  • yeah, guess i'm a little biased cuz i just bought it. grabbed it as soon as i saw it and went straight to the counter without even looking at the back of the box.

  • Yeah it has nothing to do with a Shining Force... But still, not so bad, and exa is quite decent.

The new Shining Force on DS (Feather), is quite good as well :D

  • you should play EXA its way better than NEO in my opinion, you get a castle with a mahoooosive cannon, what more could you want.

  • Thanks for the advice, I'll play it this year

  • I dont like the battle gameplay :( but I going to try it, I already downloaded this but not yet burn

  • I have this game now. Thing is....this game is damn hard! Esp. with fgighting giants and all those mages that cast magic. The best i can do is lower the enemy numbers by using the bow.

  • this game is awesome.i still take my ps2 out to play this game sometimes.altough id like a newer 360 version of it.or a new title.but i doubt its gonna happen anytime soon.

  • Shining is a strong title in JP. Tho outside regin it tend to b weak. Tho not only for 360 newer version at less add PS3 as well =)z. Im hoping Valkyria Chornicles did realy well. Developer say it them self if the game did good They make the next installment also. Shining Force EXA Did Kinda bad thus we didnt wee Shining Wind =*( again another big lost for the outside regin. I hope from here now on all NA Publisher keep the org theme song mainly tales & shining series.

  • It's not a bad game, it's fun - but the voice acting sucks!

  • Stole the words right out of my mouth.

  • I love this game! Good video...

  • how many can you put in your team during battle?

  • 3, and you play only one

  • So you can put 3 characters into the team but you can only control one right? so that means you can play as another character besides the main character? because I'm thinking about buying this game.

  • You can only play the hero, max

  • wow an army of spiders ...
