  • How stupid, it's not a faulty drive, but bad case - Lacie = 80% chance of bad PSU.

    Also tell people that THIS WILL VOID WARRANTY !!!

    SSD can remedy a lot of the mistake that DR now is, but big companies must squeeze every penny out of the old platter technology - after all factories for millions still exist.

    And don't give flash drives and SSD to DR - better buy a flash programmer and extract it yourself ;)

  • i have an external drive that doesn't work ....but i don't have a desktop but i have a laptop....i will have to try this method later. thank you .

  • Thank you !! Thank you !! Thank you !! My external drive was not working. I tried your approach, pulled it apart, and plugged in the regular hard drive within to my desktop. Lo and behold, that fixed it. I have all my data back. Photos from the past 5 years and best of all I did'nt pay anyone a dime. Feels good to fix it yourself. Thank you once again !!
