Yea....Las Vegas....spent a year there....met some great people(mostly homeless and destitute).....wish i would not of had to pass through Las Vegas to get to the greener pastures myself....but amazing how the good seeds dropped in the dessert still bring good fruit later in life....sin city or not....Gods' Laws do not change.....
What a brilliant video to use Las Vegas--the sin capital of the world--as a backdrop to this wonderful song! You know, I saw Michael W. Smith in 1985, before this album was released, and he played it for us--the crowd was so into it--held at C,W.Post college, om Long island. Along with Michael was Kathy Troccoli, and Bill Sprague, so the concert was awesome, and the crowd such stood on their feet and sang to each song--what a concert! IIn Christ's Love, BobbyK
Those first days, weeks, months and years after turning to Christ are so so sweet....it is like realizing for the first time why you are alive....and the more you trust in Him, the more reward there is.....
i got my friend to prayed for the first time in his life yesterday! he said it gives him confidence. he started a new path to a righteous life and that makes me happy
still trying to adapt to a life outside of rockettown myself....waiting for winter to melt away.....i know what the higher things bring....life and peace, but it takes time for that fruit to ripen....
I remember seeing Michael W.Smith performing this in concert in 1985, before it had even been released on his 1986 album. This was some great concert with Kathy Troccolli and Billy sprague performing as well! It was at C.W.Post college! What a concert, full of loving brothers and sisters in Christ! I even went by myself, because I was a new Christian without any Christian friends yet! Peace in Christ, BobbyK
this was the first of Michael's songs that i heard and i was like "wow... i really like this song!" and now i am listening to more of his songs and i really like them
Jesus the One that has overcome death, hell, and the grave says: "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden (Sin, worries, etc.), and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:29-30
if you have come to the realization that life in rocketown is not what you once thought it was...and you feel Christ, the Son of God, calling you out of it.....you can then simply choose to leave rocketown for the higher things...the things eternal...take time and pray whenever you can...ask for His help....repent....turn away from the things that have been consuming you....receive the better things..the things that have no price....those things are near...abandon yourself for the things above..

@MrMarkthomas22 That is an amazing way of describing the one's turn to Christ. I wish more "christians" would do this.
