I use the 28mm f2.8 because it allows you to focus much closer and get an even bigger macro shot.

Which one do u have, EF or FD version? FD has aperture ring for manually adjustment but EF version does not have it.

@DevesterOner FD lenses have to be mounted to an FD mount to change aperture with the aperture ring... Otherwise it is wide open... He has a macro extension attached to the lens which is why he can change the aperture like that...
