CO2 is a greenhouse gas that you can prove by a simple experiment. We are conducting an experiment on our atmosphere as we type. CO2 stays in the atmosphere up to 100 or so years. Didn't Sagan say we don't need to go and force nature's hand because we have enough disasters already?

Lots of things are "natural," and they can naturally kill you. Too much of mostly anything is bad, including excess CO2 that tips a balance that used to naturally be there, but is forced to change from added CO2.
