I'm looking forward to bild one with my father (you know, that kind of father-and-son project), and if it is not very indiscrete, I would like to ask you about how much is the total price for a replica like that...
I've had a bad weekend and your comment lifted my spirits - thanks so much. I have a little over 40 K in it, but took pains for detail. You can build a great car for considerably less. I now have 17" wheels with larger tires and soft rubber, and intend to put it on a road course for a much better video - stay tuned. PS - also considering putting a 427W Stroker motor in it.
Thanks for the comment; I really enjoy the car. I differ with you on the Cobra's history. Carroll Shelby did in fact design the cobra. Yes, it was BASED on the AC Bristol, or Ace if you prefer, which was indeed a British car, but Shelby took the European design and transformed it into the cobra; suspension, chassis base, and complete drive train differed. Thanks and you take care....Sam.
@samwlassiter Lots of Americans seem to think Shelby took Aces and turned them into Cobras, but all the original 'Cobra engineering' was done by AC with the prototype Cobra built entirely by AC. After initial testing in UK it was shipped to US where Shelby got it in magazines and shows, repainting it every time to make it look like there were many Cobras! With enough orders for AC to start production, Shelby then started racing the Cobra and making it go faster. Keep having fun in yours. :-)
Nice Cobra replica - does you credit. One thing though - Carroll Shelby did not design the Cobra. It was originally designed and built in England by AC, being essentially an AC Ace developed to take the Ford V8. Shelby did instigate it though, initially by asking AC if they'd be interested in building a car with an American V8 and then by getting Ford to supply one. Shelby American then developed the Cobra as part of their racing programme. And the end result was a motoring legend. :-)

gobs of detail...and it adds up quickly - worth it to me.

@samwlassiter yea thats true.. cause i wanna do a kit car.. cept i don't wanna spend 40K on it.. im more for the performance than the accuracy
