  • I Love your 60s makeup

  • You did the crease exactly right.

The reason they did that is so people who didn't have obvious creases looked like they did.

    Good job

  • this is exactly what i was looking for !

    thank ya !

    x

  • No problem! I'm glad you like it ;-)

  • Wow it looks great! Looks like the real thing. I have been searching since last year for something to tell me how to do this look and I am so happy I found this. I have been practicing with my eyeliner pencil and I end up looking like a clown haha so I think I am going to use a smudge brush next. By the why did you get your brush from a store like target or MAC? Very nice job at explaining :)

  • Well, I'm glad you found this!

My brush is from a brand called E.L.F. and I bought it on their website. It was only $1, but it's lasted me a few years now and I haven't needed to replace it. Hope that helps :-)

  • Fantastic video! Very MOD very 60'S Very Cute!

  • Wow, thank you so much!

  • wow i really like this. its such a breath of fresh air from the 50s pin up look! i love it!

  • Well, thank you very much... and I totally agree :-)

  • I get what you mean about always finding ugly sandals! but i love those! i've just watched one of ur videos, and i'm really enjoying them! you have great tuts!

  • Lol, yup. And thank you so much! I will be posting another tutorial very soon :-)

  • ur sucha nice girl

  • Well, thank you very much... I try :-)

  • This was great.. I knew how the look had to look like, but I never knew how to "really" do it.. I've been searching for a video like this for a while.. Thanks so much!!

  • Thanks so much!!

  • I am very impressed. For someone like me who was 5 years old in 1968, I can honestly tell you that this is the real thing. They did it both ways, like you did first without any black liner under the bottom lashes and with the liner. Towards the end of the 1960s the trend was towards very thin eyebrows though.

Anyway, thanks so much. You can also use fluidliner (they had it back then).

I will be trying this. Even though I am 44 I still look in my 20s. People can't believe my age.

  • Great, thanks so much for your helpful comment!

  • Where did you say you got the sandals from? Thanks!

  • I got them from mark which is a brand by Avon :-)

  • I heard that your not supposed to put mascara on your bottom lashes... I don't know how true that is but I read it in seventeen magazine... when I do put it on my lower lashes they just look like spider legs almost so I don't think I'm doing it right.

  • Hmmm, I don't think I've ever heard that. But they can look pretty weird if you put too much on. For a 60s look, you want to put on a lot because that's how they did it back then... but for everyday, I concentrate the mascara at the roots and then lightly brush out. If you watch my pink and brown everyday look, I believe I show how I do my mascara.

  • Hi, what kind of liquid liner is good for unsteady hands? I tried lots of em but I just can't get a straight black line across my lid. Are the pencil like ones (pen shaped) better or the ordinary brush-like sticks with dip in covers?

I hope you get what I mean!

  • I would have to say that, for me, the pen like liquid liners are the easiest to use... though I haven't tried liquid for this look. Hope that helps!

  • its a black eyeliner pencil,

and sorry about posting that twice,

i thought it hadn't appeared on the video =/

  • No problem, I have to approve the comments before then are posted :-)

So if it's a pencil... hmmm, it shouldn't look emo. I would recommend drawing the line and then blending it just a little bit with a sponge applicator, smudger brush, or small shadow brush. You don't want the harsh line that pencils usually give, so make sure to soften it.

  • hi, i love your makeup tutorials, especially this one.

i've been wanting to do this for ages,

but there's just one problem - every time i apply the black eyeliner above the crease of the eye, plus everywhere else:

i always end up looking like an emo/scene kid.

honestly not the look i'm going for.

however i'm blonde w/ blue eyes so that probably affects it a bit. but if you could possibly inform me on what to do, that'd be great.

    x

  • Alright, there are a couple of things that might be happening. First off, are you using a liner pencil or a black shadow? If a shadow, what kind of brush are you using? Once I know these things, I should be able to figure out the problem.

    Thanks!!

  • wow, thankyou.

    i'm going to try it now :}

  • its really hard for me to apply mascara on the bottom eyelashes how do u do that

  • Really? Well, it's actually pretty easy, this is what I do: Tilt your head down a bit, take the wand, put it on the bottom lashes as close to the top as possible and then gently wiggle it back and forth over the lashes. It may take a few tries to get it right and not smudge it. If you want to see me do it, check out my Everyday Brown and Pink look (at about 7:05).

  • thanx

  • wow you did a great job explaining things!! :D i am such a makeup dummie, and i think i can actually do this LOL. im gonna try it out right now, thanks soo much! im gonna take a look at your other vids too :)

  • Lol :-) Thanks so much, I hope you like my other videos!

  • wow thanks for the tip so white eyeshadow black eyeliner and black mascara

  • Yup, that'll about do it :-)

  • so any sort of make up but the same colour

  • Pretty much, just make sure it won't wear off :-)

  • ok thanks you bye x

  • I love this video

I just did my eyes like this (I am going to a semi formal tonight)....and it really goes with my black mod/60s dress

my dad even said "dear god, you are dressing like the 60s again!" haha

  • Haha! That's awesome, thanks so much for commenting :-)

  • I see what you mean that these exotic looks aren't really wearable. It looks great it's just too flashy.

  • Yup :-)

It's fun for, maybe, a costume party or something... but that's it.

  • ☺ ☺ ☺

  • Hey there! I just commented on your video... you did a really great job :-) Talk to you soon.

  • Great look and great video!

  • Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
