@FCO0710 yes, that's possible, too. But I like to record the sounds as I hear it in my head, less options at mixdown. less rooms for mistakes re-interpreting the intention.
Sorry for the confusion, I'm not re-amping the original signal, I'm running a microphone through a preamp and re-amper then the pedals, and recording that sound live much like you are. Just a different way of going about it!
so is he controlling the wah himself with the pedal while playing, instead of using his hand on the bell?

interesting signal chain. I've been using a re-amper and a direct box with pedals in between to achieve similar effects
