les paul invented the electric guitar itself, he also invented double track recording so you could record 1 instrument and put it alone with other seperatly recorded instruments
Let's no forget that anybody can copy the likes of Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Herman Li, and so on. But to play the blues in general, you need a soul. And this kid has it. metal's not hard. it's just really fast picking, which is about the easiest skill in guitar playing. he could kick ass in speed metal (if it were worth playing). and jazz isn't very much harder than blues.

I think if the backing had been better , he'd have launched into some full on lead.

ok, i hate that kid, hes playin PRS guitars (check out his videos) and he played with Les Paul!!!!! And all he does is play the pentatonic scale up and down while i sit here studying and improving using techniques and intervals and arpeggios and scales and stuff!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow Les Paul, I was asked to trade my guitar for a Les paul and a fender in the 70's, I still have my guitar, 1978 now 2010 I love me Baby, and she's sounds even sweeter. Tip my hat of to the blues guitarist, blue grass country that showed me a real good Friend My Guitar. BB King Awesome. xoxo ;}

In technical skills he isn't that great.
But his sound, is so soulful, it breaks the rules of music in general. and that's what it's all about, the blues.

Les was one of the first to popularize the solid body. Don't thing he actually invented it, but he definately had a large hand in its evolution. And yes this kid is awesome! True raw talent. Envy......

les paul invented the electric guitar itself, he also invented double track recording so you could record 1 instrument and put it alone with other seperatly recorded instruments

Let's no forget that anybody can copy the likes of Mike Portnoy, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Herman Li, and so on. But to play the blues in general, you need a soul. And this kid has it. Like what Crossroads say.. you can't play blues unless ya from mississippi, boy.. And this kid has something that 20-year olds are able to achieve.. He blows my mind away. This is pure talent. I'm amazed.

Techinical or not.. blues requires a certain intuition... It's more heart than skill...
You can take a dozen metal guitarists and I promise you there wouldn't be 4 of them that could do a decent blues improv..

metal's not hard. it's just really fast picking, which is about the easiest skill in guitar playing. he could kick ass in speed metal (if it were worth playing). and jazz isn't very much harder than blues.

I played on stage with this kid, I'm an 11 year old and I also hung out with him before the show. Hes pretty much your average kid, hes cool.
