@Curtanix Depends on how serious you are about wanting to try and what your overall goal is.. I'd get a dual action for sure. Don't go the cheapest, because this will only frustrate you more during the learning process. A couple of good all around workhorses are the Dagr or the Iwata HP-CS.

@well when i started i just got a cheep one and practeced with water not paint till i felt confident and air brushed a pic but it depens what you are looking for there are a bunch of difrent brushes out there you just have to experiment

@Curtanix, I've been an artist for years and recently picked up airbrushing(about a year ago). I started with a cheap($75) tool supply catalog number. It worked but it was frustrating how inconsistence it was. I saved up for an Iwata Eclipse HP-CS(about $150) and it's great for anything that doesn't require super fine detail. I have better brushes now, but still use my Iwata every day. If money is no object, the Iwata micron series is the one alot of pro's use, better atomization, detail, etc.

soo i bougt an airbrush.. the infinity 2 in one.. and when i spray it.. the paint splattersss and it comes out ugly.. anyone know why?? im getting irratatedd.

@1761341 It could be a few things,

-high air pressure,(35-45psi should work),

-thick paint,(try adding reducer to thin it way out, if your airbrush works good, thicken a little at a time to find the sweet spot)

-water based paint can dry on the tip of the needle,it just happens...

-try to keep your crown cap clean, it can build up and make spatter.

-If you needle gets any kind of damage to the tip, the paint will spatter off of it.

u should calculate atleast 150 bugs for the airbrush pistol, a few hundred for the compressor and well than the colors ^^

and dont think its easy, i layed a hand on an airbrush and tried some, but gettin the feeling for sensitivity is hard practice

meaning airbrush aint for trying - you must want to learn it,

maybe make a living out of it
