Man, both the movie and soundtrack are fantastic. I'm not holding out much hope that the remake will do it justice, but I'll try and keep an open mind.

And if you watch them really closely, they both have a sound message; that it's humans and their man made actions that will lead to the end of humannity, not machines. Unfortunately this has never been released as a soundtrack, as far as I know! There was a promo-only 7" single, but that is all :-(

@mikedevery Actually it did.  I know because I have one. It's the soundtrack to Short Circuit. It is kind of rare, but it does exist. It has this song on it as well.

I heard they're remaking this film. Why? Why does every perfect film need to be remade? As the saying goes "If it ain't broke then don't fix it" I know they've done remakes for years but brilliant films don't need to be remade. There is just no point. If this film failed to be a success then they can remake it. I wouldn't mind that. But it's a classic and classic means fondly memorable. And would you be able to match Steve Gotenberg and Ally Sheedy's talent? I doubt it.

Don't get me wrong, some remakes are totally brilliant, but some have been totally rubbish.

I'm just worried that the remake would ruin this film. If they did it the same way with this one, then I'm sure I would love it.

I'm just concerned because it's one of my favourite films.
