  • lol if the people weren't paid to walk by that would've been very random...o.O I would have been lmao though if I saw that.

  • i think those people walking down are paid too. as extras

  • the cars were going back wards o.O

  • so was it when they were shooting the side of the car? is that a camera mounted in the window

  • omg i would have ran after heath!!!! lol!! lucky....... thats sick dude your like awesomely cool now.

  • Or do the legal thing and buy it.

  • lol

  • wow, but that's some really nice footage...did you film it yourself? ;)

  • Pretty awesome, thanks for posting this up.

  • Actually no, you see the cars drive towards the intersection in the scene, they're probably going backwards to reset and do it again.

  • why did they walk back into the car...

  • That was the end of that particular take. Each little tidbit of a scene is done at the very least, maybe ten times. I was in a B-movie and we did 30 takes of one particular 1-1/2 minute scene.

  • why are the cars going backwards

  • Maybe the director didn't like where they were sitting.

  • Poor Heath. My heart goes out to Michelle and Matilda. (And the rest of his family ofcourse.)

  • is it the opening scene? when the three clowns run in the bank....?

  • Lol yeah it is xD the last one is heath .. lol he was supposed to run too..

  • I think he forgot to run lol !!

  • that's so cool

  • The car stop and then you see 3 little guys popping and running it's quite funny XD!!!!

Great movie and great performance be Heath Ledger, R.I.P!!!!

  • Where in Chicago was this?

  • That's wicked. It's so cool how everyone's normal. I wouldn't have been able to stop staring!

  • You realize those were extras right

  • No, I didn't, I thought it was business as usual as they only needed one side of the street.

  • horny...now your talking!

  • I think my dad was at the place where they filmed the Hospital scene when they were blowing it up. I remember him telling my family about seeing something done for the "new Batman movie" at the time.

  • dude i lived right by there..

but they blew it up now...

    :[

  • probably not a wise idea considering ledger died.

  • Notice at the end how the pedestrians and cars on the other side of the street are all extras and go back to their places to do the scene again. Pretty cool.

  • WOW IT IS COOL.

  • haha yeah i saw the cars were driving backwards after 0:38 and i was thinking wth? thanks for pointing that out i loveee this film!

  • America used to be Superman right? but the question now is this, has America become the Dark Knight or the Joker or a bit of both? Without Batman there would be no Joker. Without Joker there would be no Batman. Good versus evil. To what extent do the forces of good have to cross the line to defeat evil. Has that time come? Hmmmm? this movie has a serious message within

  • Dude what the fuck are you talking about? America can't "be" Superman. Thats not even a lucid thought. I really dont understand what you are trying to say. I agree that batman was a great movie, but your post really is a muddled series of incoherent thoughts. Think before you post.

  • Watch The Dark Knight On My Profile

  • where do u find these things?

  • I was across the street when this was filmed. This was an outake on Ledgers behalf. He laughed after this, he was the last one who walked back to the truck first.

  • dudeeee, ur so lucky.

  • 3 of a kind lets do this ! 5 guys 2 on the roof! 6 guys dont forget the guy who planned the job! now i no why they call him the joker

  • can anyone tell if the joker is there or not?

  • (possible spoiler)

he's the one with the bag, lingering on the steps while the other two guys go up the stairs.

  • oh yeah, cheeers

  • you are so lucky anyways i've been there b4

  • Could you please check my joker search "joker leonardo" or see it on video response. thanks.

  • too bad we dnt get to see heath standing on the corner with the clown mask on

  • the joker is the first one to get in the car after they leave the car... if that makes any sence

  • chicago whoo hoo

  • Lols, my cousin-in-law works in that bank where they shot it. And he saw the BatPod chase scene and the Commissioner's funeral scene while it was filming. ^.^

  • :O wow

  • Is Gotham a part of Chicago?...havent seen this yet. Thanx

  • wow.

    that's so cool.

    :)

  • no, isn't Mister Reese (guy planning to blackmail Bruce Wayne) in TDK going to be Riddler and Johnny Depp will reprise Joker in a small scene

  • um...youre way off, you cant even get the rumors right

  • Reese can't be Riddler cuz he already

    knows who the Batman is

which is the Riddler's biggest riddle

    "who is the batman?"

  • Well replacing the Joker now would be impossible. Any kind of performance would be just not as good as ledger's. I have heard that Daniel Day Lewis has got the role of Joker offered. But even If such a great Actor would do it .. it would be impossible to come close to ledger's masterpiece.

  • They're considering Johnny Depp to be The Riddler in the next one.

  • A question to anyone that might know or believe (or hope):

Who do you think is going to be the bad guy of the next one if it isn't two face????

  • i heard someone say it was going to be your mom

aka who the hell knows? i hope they get arnie to reprise his role as "mr. freeze" hahaha i rule

  • No Two Face actually returns in the next batman movie a long with Riddler, and some other dude...i think it was Penguin or something...

  • no i think the penguin was from a old batman movie. the one with riddler and twoface had uma thurman as that vine girl, or she was with arnold schwarzenegger as the cooler guy

  • meh, Janus would have been a better name (Janus is the greek two faced god)

  • The "vine girl" is Poison Ivy, and the "cooler guy" is Mr. Freeze :)

  • ledger is the one to stay back and go back to the car first

  • this is sick, my cousin took me on set of batman the dark knight. it was really good i have pictures up of it on my myspace.

  • i actually went to the place that they shot the movie. i go thwere alot. but i dont know if any one noticed but in the movie there is a scene where they accidentally could see a sign that said home sweet chicago, in the movie!!!

  • really! i was going 2 ask u "which scene" but then again, this gives me another reason 2 c dk again for the 7th x. (sick, i know.) maybe should wait 4 dvd, but then again...

  • dude thats so sick that there filming right outside of wherever you are maybe apartment or something. are all those people extras in the film or just random people walking on the street. well they would have to be extras cuz i think they usually block off streets so no cars and people can just keep driving through and also people would purposely walk by just to get into the movie and they would most likely just stare at the moviestars instead of walking normally down the streets like the extras

  • lmfao

  • you can see the other clowns running up to the bank building and then they say cut and go back to the car.

  • watch?v=s96-ZLObkPg

  • ok ok

ive been reading some comments and

    A) they should not bring robin into the new films that would SUCK!

B)Bale will only be in another batman film if nolan is in it FACT

    C) They should not bring back the joker it would reiun ledgers work

D)i think two face is dead

    E)I LOVE THE BATMAN MOVIES

  • A) I agree with you

    B) I agree with you

    C) I agree with you

    D) Two face no more please...

  • agreed (except maybe about 2 face)

  • two face isnt dead, trust meh

they burried the other dude, but without a body

they pretended there was a body to unite gotham against crime

i garuntee you 2 face returns

  • I think they might...they shouldn't have killed him off in DK anyways....in my opinion, they could've taken him to a whole new level

  • you cant guarantee anything, chris nolan hasnt even decided on the plot yet.

  • WHEE now im happy :D

  • He musnt be dead else how would they do the "third" part

  • chivas i couldn't agree with u more. Im so glad they havent ruined the new batman movies by adding Robin. He's such a homo wearing his little pants and mask.

  • they changed their minds about the robbery and got bak in the car

  • I think it would be cool of Batman and Robin had an epic battle ending in Robins death. Robin is really annoying

  • You're lucky, if I were there I would watch them all day.

  • must have been WELL exciting! :D

    x

  • Nolan said he has no plans for a 3rd film and bale said he is only going to be in another batman if nolan does it again, also (SPOILER ALERT)dent is buried at the end and to keep 2 face realistic they cudnt keep him in it any longer than they did

  • Dude, duh. Harvey Dent isn't dead.

  • Anyone want to know my thought? I believe Harvey is too big of a character to be (SPOILER ALERT) killing off. I don't think Nolan is quite done with Harvey just yet.

  • wow, thats pretty cool

  • soo cool my dad saw them blow up some factory for the movie!!

  • Daniel Day-Lewis probably wouldn't go near a Batman film, but God it would be good.

  • Imagine what Daniel Day Lewis would bring to the role of the Riddler...the mind boggles when you think of what his imagination would conjour up.

  • instead of jim carey lol

  • isnt that the guy from There Will Be Blood?

    lol

He'd be better than Jim Carrey. When he was in Batman Forever I remembered I never saw The Riddler I always saw Jim Carrey which took me out of the movie.

Spider-Man already got him to put the final nail im the Spider-Man movie's anyway. Carrey as Carnage? WTF

But after 3 what should I expect.

    Anyway

    The Dark Knight Rules

    and DDL could be interesting

  • I agree that Jim played a good Riddler, but I'd like to see Jonny play somthing different than a pirate, or a gay/horrible Willy Wonka. But, if they do ask Jim to play Riddler again, he's gonna have to pull double time or make a choice. There are rumors that he was asked to play as Carnage in the next Spider-Man film. Which I'd rather see him play Carnege more than Riddler again. I mean, it's not like he is the best guy for the riddler job. But, he did pretty good.

  • true, johnny deepthroat just looked like a damn fagg and child molester in that movie.

    fuck johnny deepthroat

  • i seriously doubt anyone would make the riddler better than Jim Carrey......... He like heath also makes the character his own.

  • the films too serious for jim carrey

batman forever had a much more playfull tone

batman begins and TDK are waaaay more serious and deep

if TDK had any stupid humer in it, it would fail

it was so good because it had dark humer in it. it suited the film

  • this is the bestfilm ever.

  • The person actually stated the account holder's name in the thread over at IMDB, which is monitored like hell. It's no wonder they got pulled immediately. A couple hours after that post the good clips were taken down. The crappy ones are still going strong.

  • What the hell happened to the other dark knight clips? with the robbery? the joker wants his phone call etc etc?

    Fuck!!!!!!!

  • I was looking for the clips too. I guess its safe to say Warner Bros. removed them. COWARDS!

  • Somebody advertised the fact that they were posted over at IMDB . com and "Ta-daaaaah. They're gone."

  • Yep Johnny Depp Should be the Riddler, He would be awsome!

  • dude, totally!!!!

    johnny would be awesome

  • i agree

  • i agree i always though of heath as a young johnny, both wear what they want and dont care what people think they both are awesome actors and make these characters into their own, johnny would be perfect for the riddler!

    that would rock

  • haha you were there? cool.

  • what I am saying of course they're extras....IDIOT!

  • Are those extras on the sidewalk or real folks?

  • Joker was awesome...and too bad if two-face die so quick in the movie...but...he can survive the fire...so maybe he can survive the fall too...

  • he was only burnt on his face

    not a proper fire

  • Two-face couldn't have died at the end, because robin wasn't introduced yet, and two-face kills his family.

  • considering robin is not ever going to be touched by the Nolan brothers i doubt this is true, bale even said if robin was going to be in any of the movies he will not begin filming until robins character was removed. which thank god cause robin just gays things up anyway.

  • what if they just had dick grayson a orphan kid who wants to revenge for his familys death no costume not called robin just the kid that might work

  • I agree Robin would gay things up?

But didnt Batman have another sidekick at one point in the comics. Nightwing or some shit. I've been looking into this MK vs DC game and alotta people seem to want him in it and from what I gather it appears he was Batman's partner at one point. But seeing as I'm not Extremely familiar with the Comics I dont know for sure. Hince I'm asking:)

  • Robin would gay things up? Robin is a badass martial artist and smart as hell. And Nightwing WAS ROBIN!! It depends if theyd have Dick Grayson or Tim Drake.

  • Batman has had a few Robins. The first, Dick Grayson eventually grew up and didn't want to Robin anymore. So he became Nightwing and moved to another city. Batman went through another Robin (who Joker killed) and is on to his third Robin. Is it gay? No, it's unfortunate. It ruins who Batman is, and why he does what he does. But people like Robin - and therein is the problem. Robin will always be part of batman and we just have to sigh and deal with it when it comes.

  • There have been 3 robin's in the DC world. Nightwing originally was robin, before he was transformed into nightwing by DC. There was a second Robin, who was killed off by the Joker. The third one is the one that sticks today. Other than that he had batgirl as a sidekick, who was later paralyzed by the Joker. And Batwoman, who they thankfully wrote out. (this is what I get for having a batman freak brother) Confusing I know. But in the DC comics, there were 3 different Robins.

  • no he didnt ..... that was just a terrible film that had nothing to do with the actual back story of dick grason!

  • no some gangster killed his family read the comics movie usually change stories around

  • they're gonna have another batman. i think johnny depp should play the riddler. and they're not gonna have another joker in all respect to heath ledger.

  • dude i never thought about it, but johnny depp would make an interesting new villain. But honestly, i think jim carrey played that role perfect, but he might even have done an ok joker, even. idk, that's just me i guess

  • Depp would be wicked as the Riddler! I can see it now.

  • thats sweet

  • I watched them shooting this from the Chase building right opposite!

  • why so serious ???

  • they could make another batman with the joker in it and the riddler

  • i got the impression that eric roberts character mite be the riddler from watching him in the dark knight

  • i'm kinda hopin' that jim carey will do the riddler cause he was really funny in my opinion

  • he's already done the riddler and it sucked because he doesn't play the riddler he plays jim carrey like 99% of his movies .

  • yeah but i liked him when did the riddler just cause he was funny and the riddler wasnt supposed to be a serious character in that movie it was two-face even though i found him kinda funny

  • In the movie we can see how everythin is so calm when they´re robbering the bank =/

  • Well, the have to make everything seem like if it's all planned out. Otherwise, there would be chaos.

  • The Riddler might be in the 3rd one ( " The Caped Crusader") which may be played as Jim Carry. (think that's how you spell his name?)

If not I hope Penguin is the Villain

  • I don't think Jim Carrey would play The Riddler again. I have no clue who's gonna be in the next movie, if there's a next movie.

  • Frankly, I think no one BUT Jim Carrey can pull off The Riddler, and it'd be frickin' awesome if he did it again. However, the Nolan films are a lot darker than the older ones, so he couldn't be as kooky.

  • I read other people's comments, and well, Johnny Depp could probably pull off Riddler. Especially if he pulled the great kind of acting he did in Secret Window.

  • (Not trying to be rude here) But do you really not have that much faith in the myriad of other actors out there? There are plenty of other actors who could play the riddler. He's not an overly complex role when you think about it, and frankly Jim Carrey has yet to truly impress me as a serious actor. Don't get me wrong, he's good... but he's not the kind of method actor that should play a batman villian IMO.

  • wth. keep ur 2 cents to urself

  • r u serious? This is the internet dude... the COMMENTS section of a video. Where people leave comments... (hello captain obvious). I wasn't trying to be rude. But if you think it'd be better that I shut up, then all I say is, "after you sir".

  • you're right. Besides from the fact that heath played the joker so well, it also worked because it was a show of faith in an actor, rather than putting a more obvious choice in a role. Its easier to play psychotic than a more understated role, as such there are many many actors out there that are more than capable of playing the riddler. The fact that people are suggesting jim carrey again just shows how little people know about acting even though most think they're masters of critique

  • Exactly. Not to say that Jim Carrey is a bad actor... he's just not right for the role. When I think of the Riddler, I think more along the lines of Crispin Glover, or someone like that.

  • Well, to be honest, Jim Carrey isn't his character in most of his films. He's just...Jim...Carrey...I think he can be funny, but now that the Batman movies are more serious, I don't think he could ever do it again. And I didn't think you were being rude, you were just stating your opinion. :)

  • fucking ripoff we know avgn said that.. -.-

  • Thanks. I know what you mean about JC, but after seeing him in serious roles, I do wonder exactly how well he'd be able to pull of really deep roles. Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind was excellent, but exactly because of him (tho he did do great). The Number 23 was a really enjoyable film, but I felt he was still lacking there. He's still one of my favs, I just don't think he's right for the Riddler, which apparently we agree on, so good. Thanks for the oh so rare polite response friend.

  • IF theres a next movie?

I read a couple days ago it's the only movie ever to actually be considered as a potential possibility to taking Titanic's place as the highest grossing movie of all time. Even if it doesnt achieve that. I'm pretty sure being in that category give it a 110% chance of a sequal.

Heath's death sucks I guess but I highly doubt it destroys the franchise

    lol

  • Well, no. I'm just saying that if the Dark Knight was a remake of Batman, then why would they remake another movie with the Riddler?

  • y not robin?

  • Can't wait for Batman vs. Superman!! FYI This movie is the setup for that movie.

  • nice video---everyone should see mine----mines edited with new scenes-The Dark Knight(My Realease)

  • You can't really blame him if this is Nolan's last Batman. I mean the third film is always the weakest, which is probably one of the many reasons why a director hands over the reigns to another i.e. X-men 3, Batman Forever, Superman 3 etc. I know there are probably many other "behind the scene" reasons why the directors change but look at Spiderman 3, same director but still a poor film.

  • Does anyone know where this was filmed? What city?

The moving was amazing .. i miss heath ledger and would have loved seeing him in future films. What a talent <3 Please RIP.

  • wow...... please tell me you lived in a cave when this was filmed

  • yeah i thought bale said he wouldnt do anymore batman movies if there were a robin character put in, so i dont think we'll have to worry about that =]

  • it was filmed in Chicago. =]

  • Christian Bale said that as far Chris Nolan goes, he´ll follow him.

  • I seen this movie 2hrs ago

The media here gave it a *** rating. I give it a ***** Twas awesome!! HEATH ROCKED! RIP man, you fantastic Aussie :-)

  • This is probably a stupid question but are all the cars and people extras? Did the film crew pay for an entire block or did they just get the people to sign releases afterwards?

  • all sets on all part of the movies and closed sets like this are extras. I know cause I have done many extras work :D Hope that helps

  • I don't see him

  • Awesome! That's so cool that you got to see this! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Lol look at the end the cars..Their all backing

  • that is a bit weird. Im pretty sure they are all part of the movie, probably... but still. Looks weird.

  • What happened they got to the bank and decide not to rob it at all and just walk back to their car?
