There are people who have been playing for over 20-30 (ETC) years who to us seem like to the greatest musicians ever, but to themselves feel like they are not good enough and like there is still much more to learn.

As humans, Once we get comfortable with a level we want to naturally move to the next one because we know it will be better,and this is a life long process.

Going home and pull out the MTD tonight after this clip... i been on the KSD 5 for the last week or so for practicing...both basses sound great with my new set up. I know Bubby is a GK guy but "Feel My Bottom" SWR is still my choice for right now. Pre Fender!!! I been playing Tobias basses since i got my first back in 2000. i have had four since!

It's funny. I'm originally an alto sax player. But Im also tryin to be a producer and a bassist too...lol Been making beats for the last 3 years or so and been playin bass about a year on and off, but getting more serious about shedding now... Im tryin to find a reasonably priced bass (under 600) what can you recommend?

But the bass I have is a total piece of s**t, so I just want an upgrade that wouldn't frustrate me as much...lol I was thinking of Ibanez SR 505 with mahogany body and Bartolinis. It sounds like a good deal for $580.

none other than the great Andrew Gouche... he really took me under his wing when i was about 15 and if it wasnt't for GOD blessin me to have a friend like him i would have never had a chance to do most of the things in my life.. he is even the reason why i play MTD basses ... bro there will always be hope ..there are millions of bass players that didn't go to school and taught themselves just like u and me. dont ever let any body destroy your dreams ...people have tried to say things to me...like this for example " u wont ever get a gig if you play more than 4 strings, and u need a fender'.. that was all a lie and just to let you know i have a 7 string piccolo MTD and i play it all the time lol...and no fenders all MTD...all that matters is can u play the music

yeah, i hear you. i'm 17 know and i'm offered a lot of gigs. but my mom prohibits me to do any gigs before i've done my homework. i hope to get to musichighschool and be a music teacher so if my musiccareer fails or i'm starting a family still have something to get back on. its hard to find any motivation on school in such times and just go home to teach yourself or do a gig.

well school is always great any way you look at it because its great to learn some theory ... but just remember its important to learn how to think do things like playing by ear and really knowing your instrument and being soulful has a lot to do with playing what you hear and what you feel. and learning how to play what you hear and feel is the true key to being soulful because its all about how you express yourself .. never let theory block your soulfulness..
