I've been posting to YT vids for a few years now. I think it's f-ing stupid when people ask for thumbs up to their comments, and I certainly never have.
That being said... I wound up at this page because I read (on wiki) that this was the first song SRV learned. I wonder if anyone else ever finds themselves here for the same reason??
I just HAD to see what the first song that legend Stevie learned. =)
RoyFive,Electric Flag reference, awsome.A couple of these guys are still kickin' it,I know for a fact that Randy and Dwayne will play till they drop.LONG LIVE ROCKNROLL!!!
@MattHatter Nope, it's not on Shakedown! In fact, it's live (you'll have to look for it on certain compilations). My guess is that it's from 1964, or around that. The most recent release was on El Paso Rock Vol. 2, which is probably on iTunes.
Anyboy got this by the Nightcaps? In 1961, or was it 1861, I went to a college party where they performed. My date and I rode down the elevator with them.
Looks like I didn't proofread my last comment. What I meant to say was that the only number that I hear played is "I Fought the Law." Not a one-hit wonder as some might believe, Bobby and his band recorded a lot of great music.
Thanks, buddyfan57, for helping keep Bobby's work alive. Not even the best music promotes itself. I enjoy the "I Fought the Law" as much as anyone. (In fact, he recorded enough versions to justify a CD of that alone.) Bobby was a true rock pioneer, and it shows to varying degrees throughout his work.
Just like his song, Bobby and his music are "Never to be Forgotten."

Yeah this is the stupidest song ever. When I first heard it a couple of days ago I was embarrassed for Bobby Fuller -- I love his music, but this is beyond lame and pointless.

Great song. Lightnin' Hopkins, The Electric Flag and The Bobby Fuller Four all did it justice.

I saw the Nightcaps album on Amazon and it was for sale... pretty cheap. I am investigating versions of this song to use it with my band. g
