Question: I saw that you sprayed water so that the locs would set; would you recommend spraying setting lotion, or spritz so they can set?

@becca1783 Hi, Using the pipe cleaners after a wash and retwist tends to works best. Water does the trick and it does not leave any build up or residue. The curls last until the next watch 1 to 2 months with out setting lotion.

Once when my hair was dry I used pure aloe gel to set my hair on pipe cleaners and it turned out well.

QUESTION: My hair is extremely long- 36+ inches/ 115 locs, and not looking to cut them just yet. Buying the same cleaners, I was able to do half of my head but I couldn't kept them in for more than a few hrs. My scalp is extremely sensitive. :-(

Do you know if the flex rods are better?

@394U14 Maybe. Next time try not to roll all the way to the scalp. My scalp is sensitive to. I can only keep braids or pipe cleaners in for two or three days.

I braided yesterday afternoon and had to undo today. Scalp still doesn't like it. so I know I could not use pipes overnight. My hair is resting on the chair by a few inches, so I would have to cut at least 10" off to prevent endless hrs of rolling. ;-( To be continued.....

in your other commets i read, u said u used peroxide to lighten your hair but it started thinning and breaking. i dont have locks but do u think that cud work on any type of hair? my hair is relaxed and i think i do it too often so it was kind of thin but its getting stronger. wud u think that wud break my hair and thin it more?

and if not and i do use it how do you do it? is it a certain length of time u leav eit in? do u wash it out? etc.

@sharellsharell I am not sure I haven't died it in a while. I was using peroxide to lighten my hair but my locs were thinning and breaking so I stopped. I am contemplating going to a lady who specializes in coloring locs. I will post a video when I do. Thanks so much.

loxy4x4 the larger pip cleaners turn out great!! FYI The Foam Wrap Setting Lotion would have been great! It even dries faster for those who do not like sleeping in pip cleaners. But oher than that loxy4x4 did a great job. I also like her because she has fun while doing her hair, like dancing.
