  • @IggyHazard

I agree with you on most of what you said, however, what you said about scarab beetles being falsified in movies is not entirely true.

Scarab beetles do in fact eat human flesh, which is why they are widely used in museums to clean the flesh off of bones.

Just thought I'd offer you a bit of information on the subject.

  • @zachmathias I do not recall making any suggestion that scarabs were or are falsified in movies at all. I do mention that the large beetles are certainly more capable of inflicting injury however, using the Mummy as a very clear indicator. MANY beetle species can quickly clear a corpse or carrion of its meat flesh. But most will not just sit and eat away at a living body or even cause a serious bite.

  • wow nice video very informative too

  • I live in the UK and when I was at Primary skl we saw a stag beetle - cudn't believe it! :O

  • 'The Mummy' totally misrepresented scarab beetles the same way most vampire movies misrepresent bats. Scarabs are modest herbivores except for one species and that species doesn't eat humyn flesh (probably because we're gross). Cicadas also appear in jewelry and art and have a similar significance, symbolizing the cycle and changes of life and rebirth.

  • i live in the united states and i see the larvas in a dead stump in my yard r they stag or scarab

  • @TheResiMac - the best way to know is to let the larvae grow up and see what they become! They could be any number of insects.

  • WOW! There truly is so much to learn from these little guys! Can you imagine if you could examine a fruit fly in detail like this... Fruit fly's are so small though.

  • really ?! man i threw awy like 20 of them in the trash can!!!!!!

  • @lizardz2137 I doubt fly maggots (if this is what you referring to) would be near the actual size of these guys. If you did pick these up from outside and then put them into your trash can that might be a different story. The eating habits are very different as well.

  • @hulitoons when i was digging, i found these little grubs that your talking about, but i dont know what kind of beetles they are, can you tell me what kind of beetles they are if i make a video on showing the little grubs?

  • @lizardz2137, I might be able to, but these are sometimes pretty hard to tell. It does sound as if they are a beetle though. Was there a lot of degrading wood stock where they were found?

  • @hulitoons yeah.

  • @hulitoons ill subscribe you if you answer.

  • Very good job (a little fuzzy when you talk though).

  • backyard my *** i never find those things in the backyard speak the truth not lies!

  • i really want a rhino beetle

  • @mitfra593 me too

  • yuck

  • Reminds me of my own beetle :,)
