He played LEFT BACK in champions league final against Milan, he's played WINGER for Liverpool in 07/08 season, he plays DEFENSIVE and ATTACKING midfield..also, he has played SUPPORTING STRIKER for england.

Well see how many tricks n how fast Messi runs when he is 29! Messi couldnt chase Kaka with the ball at his feet sprinting in line with messi and Kaka is 5 years older than him. Messi is a great players and Gerrard could do just as many tricks when he was Messi's age. Thats why Gerrard has been able to play in so many postions so effectively throughout his carrer. If he was played in his best position just like Messi has been all the way through his carrer he would have got countless awards.

@filmonabaiy Gerrard debuted for Liverpool at 18 and played 13 appearances that season and 30+ from there on, mostly with 50+ a season. He did play good, but as a defensive midfielder with a good eye for a pass.

Gerrard is a more complete player than anyone else. He has all the attributes, shooting, passing, strength, pace, tackling, influenece, agility etc. Messi is the most natrually gifted attacking player since Zidane, but it's pointless comparing them, because they are completley different players. The best two players in the planet along with Kaka.
