  • Probably the greatest black movie I ever saw. Don't make it like these anymore.

  • "Dey seh you wan' talk to me. Dey seh you offerin' me...'favors'.

Tell me why, Babylon - Mistah, 'Policeman'....."

  • my favorite movie with sidney potier and bill cosby. odd to see bill cosby in this kind of movie.he was so clean.

  • This is my favorite movie! My grandmother took me to see this when I was 5 years old. I have a copy of it on vhs (wow) and still watch it every once in awhile. It reminds me of the fun times grandma and I had.

  • DYNOMYYYYYYTE!!!!!

  • Try doing a remake of this movie with Denzel Washington and Eddie Murphy.

  • WISH THEY DO A REMAKE WHY: SOME OF THE CAST ARE STILL LIVING.

  • You never thought about the show, "Good Times" when you saw this film. Its called talent!! So proud to have been in the theater with my sister as a kid to see this movie. It was a beautiful part of my childhood..

  • Brilliant Promotional Advertisement!! A Solid 6!! WGN America would have fun airing this 1975 film on a Friday Night. Jimmie Walker, John Amos, Sidney Poitier, and (the late) Ossie Davis were the mainstays in this motion picture.

  • Bootney Farnsworth... Need I say more?

  • I know almost every word in this movie by heart!! And I don't even think I was born when it came out. Glad my parents exposed me to the classics!!

  • Oh damn!! I've got to see this film! What a great cast ...And John Amos was hot back then! LOL ANd of course Jimmie Walker too funny !

  • Starring J.J. and his dad.

  • Man! Those shades are out of sight what Bill Cosby has on. Wonder what they're called.

  • Give me this movie with "Uptown Saturday Night" on Blu Ray and my life would be complete.

  • Absolutely a classic. I bet I watched this movie every time it came on cause it was my step-dad's favorite movie.

  • @LadeeKoko Your step dad has great taste in movies.

  • soon as this come on and go off that beat thats playin iz so fuckin sweet dam who made it and how can u get it and am not talkin bout the song lets do it again on here lol

  • Were ppl really forgetful in the 70's? They said the name of the film & Sidney/Cosby's names 3 times! lol

  • Man, Sidney Poitier and Bill Cosby to me, were one of the greatest comedy duos I ever seen. I think they played in like two other movies. I hope they think of doing another comedy together in the future. They maybe older but I believe they still have that chemistry.

  • KLASSIC Movie, KKLASSIC Music!!!

  • hey man that was da shit in da 70s i was in high school love sudney in that suit and bill! lol!

  • One of my favorite movies right here!

  • I love this movie and i am olny 20 they just dont make movies like this any more

  • Yeah, the blaxploitation era was the best. Im 21 and I know that.

  • @Jessica1044 I agree with you Jessica1044 I was only (3) years old when this movie came out in 1975 and i watches it over and over and over again i love it to.

  • @Jessica1044 I'm 17 and I love this movie! When you have a dad that's 62 you'll love these classics lol he would wake us up with this and the fiveheartbeats when he would clean

  • Bootney lee fonsworth

  • Did the dude say Biggie Smalls? at 25 seconds into the clip? LOL

  • I know, that's what I heard too!

If true, he was a legend before he even became a legend! Lol.

  • thats were the rapper got hes name from

  • Calvin Lockhart

PLAYS — Biggie Smalls IN THIS FILM

AND NOTORIOUS BIGGIE COPY THIS NAME

AND CALL HIM SELF BIGGIE SMALLS

  • i know lol

  • And he appeared in this movie with John Amos and Jimmy Walker of Good Times TV fame. Lockhart would later make a guess appearance as Florida Evans's cousin in the final season of the show.

  • yep biggie smalls, just like the rapper!!

  • Yeah, that's where he got the name from. Which is why he had to change it to Notorious B.I.G. Copyright infringement.

  • polyester is a beautiful thang....

i'm bout to get me a badass suit right now today

  • How come all the old previews show the entire plot of the movie?

  • The movie and the soundtrack are American Cult Classics. Oh yeah, this is where The Notorious B.I.G got his initial name, Biggie Smalls. That's why he had to change it b/c he took a copy written name. I'm sure it was in homage to the film but you know how corporate america is with their greedy asses.

  • denzel, eddie.....what r u waiting on?

  • Punk that....this is Ice Cube and Mike Epps's calling card right here.

  • mmmm denzel<3

  • Ooohh JJ ~ Dy-No-Mite!! ~ LOL!!

Just looked at this the other day & Up Town Saturday Night ~ Now that's what you call Old School Classic Movies ~ Vintage

    Grt Post!

  • That movie was the motha fuckin SHIT!!!!!

  • BIGGIE SMALLS

  • GEECHIE DAN

  • Great movie!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:25....does he say "biggie smalls"?

  • yes, the rapper got his name from a character in this movie

  • thnaks...was wondering

  • sure does. thats where BIG got his nickname

  • Denise Nicolas is my older cousin..lol.. she's my grandma's first cousin... just thought id share that... lol.. her real name is Donna by the way...

  • Is she still fine ?

  • Yeah..I'd like to know the same thing. I still have a crush on her, and the last thing I saw her was "My Wife & Kids". She was still good looking then (although heavier..but that's alright with me).

  • Oh word? Give her my number... Wait, give her my e-mail address!!

  • Denise Nicolas is my older cousin..lol.. she's my grandma's first cousin... just thought id share that... lol..

  • mannnn, this was my daddy's favorite movie. i had to search high and low to find this on dvd.

  • This movie was & still is a CLASSIC.

Denise Nicolas I had a serious crush on her back then & I was going through puberty at that time,SHIT.:o)

  • I know what you mean, you weren't the only one...

  • You and a thousand other dudes. Her and Pam Grier.

Damn Pam Grier movies were like soft.. LOL at least in my eyes back then.

  • What's up man!!! I'm glad somebody agrees with me. Let me ask you this, who was finer back then?

PAM GRIER or Denise Nicolas & let's not forget Thelma from "GOOD TIMES" :o)

  • shit ALL OF THE ABOVE fool!!

  • My favorite line in any movie,"You lost man, live with it,live with it."

  • This movie was so funny but to be honest with you, I only watched this cause i was in love with Denise Nicolas... She was even sexier in Piece Of The Action

  • Man most of these hip- hoppers have used this movie for their handles, album covers.

  • This movie was funny as hell. The cahse scene has to be my all time favorite. They led kansas city mack and Biggie smalls right to the police station.

  • Friday After Next reminded me of this chase scene. But I don't think they would've made it to the police station, let ALONE jump from building to building with their weed smokin' asses. :-)

  • Friday after next sure does. They were runnin' into peoples house's and stuff. Yes it's almost the same

  • Classic, my personal favorite movie of the Cosby/Poitier trilogy.............

And Denise Nicholas is one Hot Mama!

  • This is my favorite movie of all-time. My brother and I to this day quote and text lines to each other from this movie for fun. I'm not kidding. Nobody knows this movie better than I do. Some people have the Godfather. I have Let's do it Again. And by the way, Will Smith's production company bought the rights to all three movies. I don't really think they should do a remake but it will draw intrest in this classic.

  • I admit it will be difficult to make a remake of these 3 movies. However, it would be intteresting to see how it would be interpreted nowadays. Sidney Poitier's speech in "A piece of the Action" would still resonate today.

  • Back in the day, it was O.K. to use the "F" word before it became a slur toward those with an "alternate lifestyle." This movie depicted the times it was made in. It could be considered a high-class blaxploitation film because of the impact of Cosby and Poitier. But Amos, Lockhart, and Walkers roles are great.

  • Not sure who asked but subscribe to TVOne...You can catch this movie along w/ a few other great throwbacks.

  • I LUV THIS MOVIE

  • IM 15 MY DAD WATCHED DIS ALL DA TIME

  • how can i find this movie

  • With all respect to the other fine ladies in this movie - I'll take Talya Ferro, the green eyed beauty in Biggie's crew. When I first saw her in this movie as a horny 16 year old suburban white boy I got an instant case of jungle fever. She is FINE!

  • She is fine, but I will take Jayne Kennedy anyday. The woman in the beginning of the film who Cosby is going nuts over as he's driving the forklift. I've never seen a finer looking woman in my life.

  • CLASSIC!!!...

  • good movie loved the title song as for calvin very underated underused a very talented actor rip man

  • J.J. and James Evans from Good Times, my man Cosby, and Sidney P! this definitely was the golden age of cinema. DYNOMITE!

  • Those was the good old days.

  • Classic!

  • I sho hope you don't have an accident on the way home with all that money. lol Uptown Saturday night and Let's do it again two of their best movies.

  • curtis mayfield hell yeh

  • LOL - Bill Cosby's sunglasses!

  • In one Rocky version, Apollo Creed was an older, less flashy Joe Louis type champ. John Amos would've been perfect. Fought golden gloves and one episode proves he's bigger and wider than Carl Weathers. Not by alot, but enough.

  • None of Sidney and Bill's movies can be done over...what they did...STANDS... and cannot be duplicated or bested. Uptown Saturday Night, Let's Do It Again & A Piece Of The Action..all CLASSICS.

  • @TriviaOne To do their movies over would be a terrible injustice to them. It would be like trying to cook with old grease.

  • "Biggie smalls.....ya momma still workin in them $10 dolla whore houses (john amos).."...LOL..man i love this movie....true classic!

  • "low down dirty rotten turkeys!!!! they double crossed us again". "them dumb field-hands were smarter than i thought".(john amos).

  • John Amos was the shit in this movie. I lost it when he called them dumb field-hands.

"Matybe I should get me some young college-educated faggots to work for me." Kansas City Mack

  • I am a black male who just recently graduated from college and I am not a f*****

  • I am a black male who graduated from college. That was actually a line from the movie. Get over yourself.

  • First of all you do nor know me to be telling me to get over myself. You get over yourself. Maybe if you had clarified it from the beginning that it was a line in the movie, I would not have said anything!!

  • BIGGIE BIGGIE BIGGIE CANT U SEE!! U JUS GOT JACKED BY MONGO SLADE AND BILL COSBY!!! haha

  • Biggy Smalls..Mongo Slade.. the best villains Ever other then Sho'NUFF

  • lol @ Jimmie Walker knocking the speed bag into the crowd

  • THAT THAT ILL SHIT!!!!

  • Your cousin was hot.

  • Calvin Lockhart could have been one of the all time greats but for some reason he did not get a lot lead roles in major movies. If he came along in the late 80's--present he would have blown up. RIP my friend.

  • i cried today when TCM showed the stars that passed this year

    i was so hurt

    i loved his acting

  • For some reason?

You know what the reason was.

  • I'm ready for a REMAKE of this classic. Now who can we get to pay the lead roles? What would be the storyline?

  • denise nicholas... the woman who plays bill cosbys wife... is my cousin!! =)

  • CLASSIC FILM !!!!! R.I.P. Calvin Lockhart

( The Original Biggie Smalls ).

  • John Amos is so fine even now as older man. I'm 26 and I'd still date him.

  • see love always

  • How about Dave Chappelle and Taye Diggs as Bill and Sidneys character's. Then Terrence Howard as Calvin Lockhearts and Bernie Mac as John Amos' characters respectively. And Eddie Murphy as the preacher.

  • Calvin Lockheart aka Silky Slim, may his fine soul rest in peace.

I wish they would do a remake of this starring Pdiddy and JZ..good idea huh? Or Will smith and Chris Tucker. Now that would be hilarious!!! can ya see it, can ya see it?? Visualize it people!

  • Only a very few people know that the Notorious B.I.G. got his nickname Biggie Smalls from the late Calvin Lockhart's character.

  • calvin lockhart is not dead

  • He died about a year or two ago. He had cancer

  • Yes, he is. But he died from complications from a stroke.

  • calvin lockhart is dead. may he rest in peace........

  • 1975

  • Love the title song by the Staple's Sisters!

  • Classic movie!!!!

  • VERY cool trailer. thank u for lettin me see this for the FIRST time!!!
