At room temp it won't dissolve. To dissolve it needs to be fairly hot. I use a water bath to avoid overheating it... although in the end I used the microwave each time I wanted to re-dissolve the crystals (on (v.low) 40% power to avoid making hotspots).
At room temp the solution will want to crystallize. So if there is anything in the solution, or even dust on the container, then it will crystallize out. If it's clean, then you can leave it for days without it crystallizing.

@lKento It's not poisonous, but I wouldn't recommend eating it...especially anything more than a tiny amount
