  • BABYFACE SPEAKS FROM HIS HEART THAT'S WHY I LOVE HIS MUSIC

  • let me say to everyone on here that it is a true tragedy that today's music does not sound like this anymore! all the music we hear on the radio focuses on lust and sex as opposed to love! babyface is truely missed in the r n b genre and the same goes for Al B. Sure TOO! these two guys kept R N B ginuine and real. now im only 20, but I know what REAL R N B Music sounds like. and when im with a girl, I dont blast no gucci man, the dream, or solja boy. I blast Babyface, johnny gil and Al B. Sure.

  • to the 4 who dont like this song. U dont know music!!!

  • He always knows exactly what I'm going thru in my relationships. It's like someone is telling him my story & he's writing songs about it. He always hit the nail on the head w/my lovelife. I LOVE HIS WORK!!!!! HE IS DEFINITELY IN MY HALL OF FAME. RIGHT ALONG W/LUTHER, TEDDY, AL, EL DEBARGE, & LIONEL RITCHIE!!!!

A friend that was telling him all my business, for him to write songs about. He would so hit my relationship feelings like a nail on the head. I really miss songs like this. He always knows my relationship status: good, bad, otherwise. I LOVE THIS ARTIST!!! HE IS SO IN MY HALL OF FAME! RIGHT ALONG W/LUTHER, EL, TEDDY, EWF, AL & LIONEL!!!

  • It's funny... Hearing this song right now, I can remember exactly how I felt when I listened to this every day. I remember when it was proper to be able to tell a woman how you felt about her... What happened to that?

  • this is wat my LORD & SAVIOR says 2 me, theres no LOVE like HIS.I Love HIM so MUCH

  • At times the ppl on Youtube can be soo retarded. The auto complete search results in the drop down search bar has this song as "babyface given it a chance".

  • What happen to this babyface? Tender Lover was the (or ) one of the best alnums this guy has ever made. Babyface got a alot of play from the ladies. Classic

  • I've listened to this song so many times as a teen. It still brings tears to my eyes many years later. thx for posting. I bought this album, tape, and cd so many times. It just doesn't want to stay in my possession for some strange reason

  • This song takes me back to when I'd consider (in comparison to the present) when things were normal. Things are so effed-up now-a-days.

  • babyface is a great songwriter this is true, but the greatest of our time,i dont think so r.kelly, maurice white, stevie wonder, lionel richie, are great as well

  • yea babyface is one of the greatest of our time because now a days we don't have too may greats to say they are the greatest of our time

  • I agree, i believe he's the greatest of all time no other artist has been more prolific in so many aspects of music not only R&B bu hip hop, jazz, classic, soul and etc. Production, songwriting, singing not to mention he has retained a respected image while doing so.

  • I agree. You have no ideal of the divinity of the type of songwriter that babyface is. He first stated out with a group called 'THE DEAL"" Check it out;;;;;;;;

  • This song takes me back 2 college days,When my kids grow up im going to play the slow jams in our era cos they don't do them like they use to,Slowjamz in our era was all about how to express the love to that special sumone, these day its just sex and goodbye, lol thanks 4 postin this on Oneluv

  • This song is hot

  • I can listen to this all day . Babyface Is Was and will ALWAYS BE THE MAN !! :)

  • dedicated to the mother of my children kenya g. richards

  • Not to make comparisons, but if its true that Stevie Wonder ruled the 70s, then its safe to say that Babyface (as an artist) ruled the 80s. Remember he was the mastermind in the band ,The Deele, who did "Two Occasions" and "Shoot'em Up Movies" to kick the new R&B sound of the 80s off......ya'll may be too young to recall that :-) Anyway, Face is the man...

  • Lol not at all, I remember The Deele from the late 70's with Body Talk. "Shoot'em Up Movies" was my jam back in the day then I was younger, songs from artist like that helped shaped my taste and love for R&B music from then on out.

  • OMG Shoot'em Up Movies was the shiznit lol. Between that and Two Occasions. They don't make music like this anymore. :-(

  • Agreed!

  • This album is one of my all-time favs that I STILL listen to today at least a few days a week!! lol If you ladies and gents noticed in the beginning flute melody was sampled on his duet with Pebbles on her cut "Love Make Things Happen". Also a few other melodies was later sampled on future songs Face wrote for other ppl. Like Bobby Brown's "Every Little Step" samples "My Kinda Girl" from this album I will let you figure out the rest.

  • How true. A lot of Face's songs had familiar hooks and melodies. One thing is for sure, there was no greater song writer from the mid 80s to the mid 90s than Babyface. Except Fred Hammond and that's a totally different genre of course.

  • this takes me back 2 chillin at sandy spring friends school in olney md. wit my boys jaleel & frank..we was jus kids!

  • FLUTES r only for professionals only if u are a person or a person u know are not capable of playing a recorder nor flute then they were not meant to be a musician believe me i know better.

  • A very nice and romantic song

  • I love his music..... I dont kno what type of "music" is out now!!!

  • Mayne, Babyface was puttin' it down for us back in the late 80's/90's!

  • Classic.

  • Tender Lover is one of the greatest collections of love songs the world has ever known. I love the fact the Face's lyrical content focuses on the sensitive side of a man. There are those of us out there that really do cherish the women in our lives and want nothing more than to love and care for them, treat them the way our momma's told us we were supposed to treat women. This album is classic and timeless.

  • @sunraypower absolutely love your comment. Sounds like your mum did a fantasic job bringing you up. xx

  • @sunraypower Very true brother... Everytime I listen to Babyface it gets clearer to me how a real man must cherish women, And as a singer/songwriter (although amateur), I try to focus in the same thing - man's sensitive side. I feel glad that my momma raised me and my brothers with much loving kindness... Guess that helped us to appreciate these type of music. Great song...

  • This man is one of the greatest I have to find my CD's LOL.

  • This album was just the bomb - period!

I count this as a classic in any collection!

    I love BF!

  • Man oh man oh man. I try no to cry when I listen to this song. It takes me back to jr. high. Trust and belive I played this tape till I coudn't play it anymore. Funny how now when I listen to it I get the whole meaning of the song! Time and love is a mother**!

  • THIS IS WHAT i NEED TO LISTEN TO WHEN I AM DOWN AND CANT SPEAK A WHISPER. I SEEK THESE WORDS THEY ARE MY IDEA OF A WHIRL WIND APOLOGY. I ACTUALLY WENT INTO LABOR LISTENING TO THIS SONG IN 05/1990.

  • Oh my God! i love this song. for me, its very very personal. I cant even begin to tell you how meaningul this album is to me. I was only 10 years old when i was first introduce to the genius BABYFACE. My mother was 26 and in love with this guy who, to me, treated her wonderful. I witness what love really meant by watching them. I'm now 29 yewars old, this song takes me alll the way back to that moment in my life. Seize the moment, you'll never know what affect it may have upon you.

  • grew up listening to my auntie play this album, feel in love with it. this is my fav song off of "Tender Lover"

  • Babyface scored with every song from that album. I listened to that tape until the it tangled and I couldn't fix it no more. He made me believe in love and there are men who will treat you right.

  • Every song from this album raised the possibility of serious babymaking 89-90

  • It would be a dream come true 4me if I could listen to his songs live.

  • who u tellin'? lol

  • hey i sooooo love this song and just about all the others from the tender lover album!!!! just wanted to comment though: familiar with Justin Timberlake's first album? He has a song called "Let's Take A Ride," which was written almost entirely by Pharrell Williams (who is a huge Babyface fan), and it's so similar to this song. Guess that's why I liked it so much :-), although it's not as eloquent & romantic as "Sunshine." Take a listen & see if you agree...

  • OOPS!!! I was listening to "Sunshine" and talking about "Given A Chance," lol. The song I was talking about was "Given A Chance" in the comment I posted above :-)

  • Love me some Babyface..

  • I absolutely LOVE the Tender Lover album!!! another one of my favorites from Babyface!

  • No one has ever been able to accomplish everything Babyface has. I am sure every man, regardless of his race, has dedicated a song to a woman by Babyface. Thank you Babyface for your abilities and for making all of our special someones so happy with your songs. When I am not able to find the words myself, all I have to do is look for your music and it says it all for me. God Bless you Babyface.

  • i love this song.

  • This song brings me to tears every time!!!

  • I am trying to get over my trust issues and my boyfriend asked me to just let it sink in that he won't hurt me and he told me to get this song. I feel so much better.

  • thanks for postin this song all time classic thanx jazzy.

  • You tried they played around, you cried they let you down...given a chance, I'd make it up to you. Given a chance I'd prove this world was wrong... 'Face is one of the greatest song writers of my time!

  • i dont belive nor trust in love anymore

  • I so agree never ever trust anyone one hundred percent no matter what they say its all shit

  • this song help me threw a lot of tough times when i was a teen .
