  • nice car buddy

  • Then the downsize happened again on the deville from 85-88.

  • Beautiful Car. I was the same way back in 77 when they downsized the Caddy. However, it grew on me and I really liked them. I remember those old plates. I think they ended in the mid 80s. NY has gone back to that color again.

  • now that is a nice cadillac, and i actually like the 77 better than my 78 deville, the tail lights and chrome edge around the rear window why did they drop that in 78

  • dont sell it to the derby keep it!! beautiful car man !!!

  • i love the '77 sedan/coupe d'ville body. 4100 are good on gas but you MUST take gentle care of them... my friend had that type of motor in his caddy and it gave him problems. the aluminum heads and or engine will warp easily if you dont take care of it.

  • @elwin38

the '77-'79 devilles used a 425 cc engine which will not die. they do tend to leak oil from the rear main, but thats all. the 4100 aluminum block disaster came out in 1982

  • One of the best cars ever.

  • I LOVE Cadillacs!

  • nice 77 cadillac does it have a 425 big block?

  • BTW. Nice Caddy. I had many like yours. That 425 engine has a lot of spunk. Good Luck with it.

  • I drive a 78 Eldorado Biarritz with a carb, though it's not very fast and not very good at gas (but surprisingly good compared to the size and weight) it is nevertheless so much fun driving it. Nothing drives like a cadillac, it's the standard of the world!!! And who wants to drive these so-called premium german cars if can have such a spacious, luxurious and comfortable automobile like this caddy

    Greetz from Grmany

  • Really nice car, I just love the cadillacs of the 70's to the mid 80's, even the smaller ones.

  • Good God! That Car of yours is nearly identical to my 2d Cadillac, save for the opera light on the 'C' pillar. My first was a '77 Coupe DeVille in the same color scheme w/ leather interior. Liked it enough that when I came across a REALLY clean Sedan DeVille like it in the Binghamton area, I pursued it and traded the Coupe in. Sadly, I drove to work one day thinking my water pump was only leaking-it seized! Good-bye 425 ci V8! Lost my job and sold it to a guy who swapped the motor for a 4100!

  • that 4100 aluminum engine was a nightmare from day one. oh and i am sure you remember the 8-6-4 idea that lasted exactly one model year

  • I had an 84 Stretch Limo with the 4100 engine. I put 180k miles on the car. Same engine, same transmission. Never had a problem. I did remember the problem was that they would leak coolant into the oil. Aluminum block.

  • @crazeenydriver That 8-6-4 was actually a good motor if u disabled that feature.

  • @telebob59 What the hell was that guy thinking puttin a 4100 in it?! He must be really fuckin stupid!

  • Thats a great car!!

  • nice!!! im from ny i have a couple old caddys i love them there solid as a rock!!!!!

  • Paypalblows dot---org.. find out how to shut down paypal accounts, get your revenge.

  • Hey Joe, howz about the crazee New York driver taking it out for a ride? Take it in some of that infamous New York traffic so we can hear its horn honkin! ;) I'd like to hear ya say things like "get out of my way roadhog", "get the lead out of your ass and put some of it in your foot", "who do ya think you are, king of the road"! Please make a driver cruise vid next time, OK dude? Nice classy wheels fella! We had a '57 Caddy long ago = smooth ride.

  • Hy, very wonderfull cadillac. I'm from France and I also have one 77 caddy. Mine is a Fleetwood brougham d'elegance in dark metalic blue with blue interior. I pefectly agree with your description of that wonderfull car: great to see, fantastic to drive !

    see you !

    Jean Francois.

  • Very nice 77 deville, Show us it driving!

And mine is not on the road yet. still needs work.

  • I had an 83 Sedan DeVille when I was in high school. It had that cursed HT4100 engine that was plagued with problems. The chasis was awesome though....roomy interior and cushy ride.

Sigh...gas was 99 cents a gallon back in 1997; the good ole days.

In the future I want to buy the one with a 472 or 500 engine transplanted in the 77+ chasis.

It as a dark day when Caddy when to FWD in 1985 with Deville & made Brougham a stand alone RWD.

Eldorado FWD was art on wheels though.

  • you had that dreaded aluminum block. that engine had a valve tap when it came out of the showroom ^-^

but yeah, I would like to get a 1976 triple white eldorado, one of those "spirit of america" models

  • wow a '57? thats the most desirable year ever made! I bet you wish she had it today

  • John Donahoe would fit in the trunk :o)

    VERY Nice Joe !

I used to have a '67 similar to this one.

    ROAD TRIP ! ! !

  • hey! I said the trunk is clean! I dont want that garbage in my trunk :-)

  • Ahhhh Great Video Joe. We had the yellow one. And it looks like new. Great riding car. Yours is beautiful.

  • t/y Cindi. was yours a '77? was it canary yellow? triple yellow?
